Good Morning!!!! 74F @ 6:00AM. Plentiful sunshine. Hot. High 101F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
No relief in the 10-day, it's all triple digits.
That's a nice loop, Drew. Be a shame to go all the way to the west coast and miss CA1, but not if it's closed (like it is now, south of Monterey). Here's a link to
road conditions in CA. The San Diego Zoo is amazing, well worth the visit, and you could spend multiple days there. My realtor took his family there yesterday, maybe escrow will get opened today?
He's been posting on Facebook about the fun he's been having with a new-to-him push mower.
Got a little bit of weed spraying in between bouts of letting the side-by-side cool off so I could refill the radiator. I found a wet spot near the bottom of it, so there is a leak. Usta be a shop in town that could repair an aluminum radiator, and this one has already been there once. I'll see if I can find them again and see of they're still open.
Ran some figures on what it would cost to move firewood to Santa Maria, vs. just replacing it down there. I'd planned to use the 24' box trailer, but the towing capacity of the van would limit the haul to just two pallets of wood per trip. Each pallet weighs over half a ton. A shorter trailer is lighter, and could haul three. There are 28 to move, so 9 full loads, and a partial. At $200+ per trip for gas, it's a squeaker. Would need that shorter trailer, and found one over the hill in Nevada, so may be chasing it this week. Should be able to get a pretty penny for the 24 footer once it's empty. Same with the office trailer, after a little TLC. Gonna need it 'cause the new house has no fireplace and a new wood stove will be about five grand after the dust settles.
Would also need a trailer brake controller, and I see now there's a bluetooth version available that would save some wiring. What will they think of next?
Also got started on getting the sprinkler tubing back on the house, so I'll be working on that between cooling off spells for the side-by-side. Never a dull moment...
