is there an affordable US made drone I can take pics with?

DJI mini mavic is very easy to fly. Not US made though. I wouldn’t be surprised if it sends your videos back to the homeland either. But easy to fly. And around $400. Costco sells them also.

Used to fly in to San Diego airport when visiting project in Mexico. The run way is unreal and very short. Gilberto would pick me up in a very small car and take me south of the border. All went well only got stopped a few times by military police

Good Morning!!!! 74F @ 6:00AM. Plentiful sunshine. Hot. High 101F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.
No relief in the 10-day, it's all triple digits.

That's a nice loop, Drew. Be a shame to go all the way to the west coast and miss CA1, but not if it's closed (like it is now, south of Monterey). Here's a link to road conditions in CA. The San Diego Zoo is amazing, well worth the visit, and you could spend multiple days there. My realtor took his family there yesterday, maybe escrow will get opened today?
anyone heard from PJS?
He's been posting on Facebook about the fun he's been having with a new-to-him push mower.

Got a little bit of weed spraying in between bouts of letting the side-by-side cool off so I could refill the radiator. I found a wet spot near the bottom of it, so there is a leak. Usta be a shop in town that could repair an aluminum radiator, and this one has already been there once. I'll see if I can find them again and see of they're still open.

Ran some figures on what it would cost to move firewood to Santa Maria, vs. just replacing it down there. I'd planned to use the 24' box trailer, but the towing capacity of the van would limit the haul to just two pallets of wood per trip. Each pallet weighs over half a ton. A shorter trailer is lighter, and could haul three. There are 28 to move, so 9 full loads, and a partial. At $200+ per trip for gas, it's a squeaker. Would need that shorter trailer, and found one over the hill in Nevada, so may be chasing it this week. Should be able to get a pretty penny for the 24 footer once it's empty. Same with the office trailer, after a little TLC. Gonna need it 'cause the new house has no fireplace and a new wood stove will be about five grand after the dust settles.

Would also need a trailer brake controller, and I see now there's a bluetooth version available that would save some wiring. What will they think of next?

Also got started on getting the sprinkler tubing back on the house, so I'll be working on that between cooling off spells for the side-by-side. Never a dull moment...

is there an affordable US made drone I can take pics with?

At the consumer level, the quality and affordability consumer level, most drone components are manufactured in China. That includes Hong Kong.

Various companies other than the market leader, like Exos and Autel have made claims that their components other than the flight frames are not coming out of China.

If you step down into the "throw away" category, I have seen reviews of a drone call Stealth Bird 4k for under a hundred dollars. I tried to get more information on them, especially their shall I say "brains" but have not the time to pursue that adventure. (LOL, I just check and it has reviews at Amazon)

A bottom line is money, but when you look at the component level, the tech is basically the same across the board, as are the flight frames. "Brains" as in machine code is where the real differences are. And there should not be the huge discrepancy in prices just based on that.

I recall not so many years ago, finding a cheap drone, the only issue was that the battery switch (on/off) was missing and the only way to turn it on was to connect the battery.

Good luck in your search.
