Rained all day today so inside conserve energy day.
75°f now, dew point 73° scattered thunderstorms until midnight ish. The state had 4 tornado warnings today, 2 warnings in our area but no damage. The state average is 1 warning per season, a bit unnerving with 4 in one day. Tomorrow may see the sun 👍

Did manage to finish trimming over the hill Friday, couldn’t wait for it to dry out so donned muck boots with yaktrax on them which worked surprisingly well. Saturday was a dump run and then picked up some Chinese food for an early supper.

Stay safe everyone

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of 11.2C and it's presently 16.2C, sunny & clear with very gusty winds... after a few days of these winds I'm getting irritated.

Looks like another eaves-trough re-hanging on the ''wood shed" due to the gusting wind direction.

Whilst having my first coffee & pipe this morning (0815) I looked out (as you do) to count the horses... No horses! Gates were shut. Bugger. The 'MAHW's horse float was there too. A few minutes later I spotted the MAHW's daughter with her horse which meant that the horses were having a hoof trim out in front of the 5-bay shed. <whew>

That's about it, take care all.

Always better to be seen instead of viewed…
Always!

I may have caught up on sleep today. Immediately after church I came home and went to sleep. Wound up sleeping until 4pm so about 5 hours. Went outside and watered some plants, pulled some weeds out of the bed around the fig tree and rinsed the dust off the truck. Just taking it easy until about 10p.

Hope everyone had a great Sunday!

BIG maple which has been dead for several year fell  homeowners were hoping tree would have fallen into road and highway department would have clean up
Never a good idea to leave a dead tree standing, although I have done so. I passed on buying a house recently where a huge pine tree was dead in the back yard. Very limited access to it and no way to drop it. I hope all the neighbors keep their insurance paid up.

73F and "Fair" @ 21:00, heading down to around 66F for the overnight low. A stray shower or thunderstorm is possible.

Got the rest of the t-posts driven in. For now ... ;)

Of course, halfway through that, the other weld on my post driver bit broke as it was welded at the same settings as the first weld.

That necessitated a trip up to the shop for a repair.

I was dipping at that point so turning on the AC while I worked felt pretty good (the AC unit blows right at the vise and small welding table ... ;) )

Once that was fixed got the last two posts driven in, then swapped the bucket for the forks on the Kubota and brought the panels over.

Set the panels on a couple of Rubbermaid single-step stools and The Woman helped hold them in place while I wired them up:

I think I'm going to run down to TSC and pick up a 3rd panel and 3 more t-posts ... have enough room to squeeze it in, lengthwise.

So I went ahead and marked the places where the t-posts go with some stakes.

Made sure to leave 3' or 4' open at the ends when we were installing so we could get around to the far side.

T-posts are driven in to where 62" is above grade. they are 7' t-posts, so theoretically, there's 22" in the ground and around a 12" gap between the ground and the bottom of the panels.

They seem pretty solid ... but if we need to, the t-posts can always be driven in a little further and the panel raised up some.

Be interesting to see how it works out.

Woman made ham and beans with cornbread for dinner which was delicious.

Arms and hands cramping up pretty good right now.

Time to get horizontal on the couch and see if there's a good movie to watch.

Hope everyone had a good Sunday ... (y)
