Only .12" rain last 30 days. And burning, crispy hot. I've started watering the pecan trees.

Guard cat.

Now my K46 tranny in the 2005 LT180 Deere rider has finally gone kapoot. Need to tear that apart, clean up the faces, install a drain plug, and whatever else it needs.
.

I know people sand the faces down, but I just replaced the motor and pump. Not too hard of a job.

Got a whooping .01” of rain today.
Watered garden tonight. Very humid out.

Our friends that live north of Ron in MI are here for the week. She just took a job with GM. She’s Mechanical Engineer, he is EE.

Good (Monday) morning. Overnight Low of -1.3C with a crisp frost. It's presently 11.3C, clear and calm.

Mostly a puttering and dhobi day. These frosts are playing havoc with the surface moisture... it's just not soaking in enough to run the tractor + chain harrow over it without tearing up the sod. I know I need to be patient.

That's about it, take care all.

69F, wet, and cloudy @ 21:00, heading down to 68F for the overnight low.

Woman finally located Her original set of car keys: sitting inside of Mom's old Betty Crocker Cook Book ... which was lying on top of the boom box ... which was sitting on a chair ... next to the kitchen table.

Of course ...

Got all cleaned up and we headed down to Menards in Massillon and picked up the order. Went up front to have a look in the garden center and grab some batteries and another Japanese beetle trap.

Woman found a small basil plant that had been marked down, they were out of the Japanese beetle traps except for large, industrial-sized "lasts-all-season-long" ones ... can't even imagine how that would smell at the end of the season ...

Ended up spending another $120 on various crap ... but Woman did get two new kitchen cans: a large one for recyclables which will get the tote out of the kitchen, and a much smaller wastebasket type for compostables.

I got a nice pair of Dickies cargo shorts, my Wranglers have got to the point where they no longer suitable to wear out in public ... just work shorts here around the property.

After that we swung by TSC for the Japanese beetle traps, they were out of them as well. Checked out their garden center while we were there ... had some pretty nice plants, including some cold-hardy hibiscus which The Woman was eyeing. They seemed to be pretty proud of the plants though but they did look pretty nice. Woman suggested we wait until they go on sale.

Stopped by Aladdin's for dinner on the way home. Was good, I had the combo and She had a chicken pita wrap which She really liked. Ordered a small side of the baba ghanouj just to try it, also was very good. Still have some left for a midnight snack ... ;)

Thunderstorm rolled in just as we were leaving.

Rainfall now up to 0.44" here at the house since midnight.

A few apples have started to fall over at the tree, Momma brought the kids by for a treat:

Burrow hole still sealed at the southeast corner of the house ... (y)

Another deluge just started.

Hope everyone had a good Sunday.

I stocked up on cherries for sure, one big pie and four little ones, though the little ones are not little. Put them in freezer per advice, and one has Ron's name on it. One has RS's name on it.
just spreading cherry pits where I go...

Might be several variations of rhubarb pie here for you to sample when you arrive.

Maybe some sheet cake as well ... ;)

Sorry about the backing difficulties ... :(

Yesterday was 99˚ and today was 96 at the "Farm". Iced neck towel helped a lot.
Pictured is one of 5 wine tasting tents in the sunflower festival "wine your way out". (before the wine and appetizers were put out). I left at 6pm and the festival ran from 7-10PM. An hour before it started there were already 50 people in the brown barn seen in the distance, don't know how many tickets they sold at $60 ea.
