Good Morning.
67 going to 80 with scattered thunderstorms forecast throughout the day.

Yesterday was a productive day for me, in spite of the multiple passing showers. Got all of the mowing done got the ash tree felled, cut up and cleaned up, loaded into dump trailer to give neighbor that burns wood.
Grandson got some tractor time with me, helped rake up the ash tree after moving the majority of the brush with the grapple. No chainsawing for him though. I used the Stihl MS261 to fell the tree and for the majority of the cutting, but when my son came to help,
I got the Makita cordless out, and it did surprisingly well.

I did take the old plane that I converted to electric to the model field and got a few flights in as well. I did that in between felling the tree and cleaning it up.
We had a few passing showers, total rainfall for the day was 1/4”.
Unloaded wife’s SUV from the weekend’s farmers markets, went out for a late dinner, and called it a day.

Not sure what is on the agenda for today, probably not as full as yesterday.

On the subject of shaving, it’s been over 5 decades for me.

have gone three days without shaving, the second day is my favorite. Getting out of shower and knowing I don't have to shave, just
dry my face off. The joys of retirement. When my wife was alive I always used to keep a spot on my cheeks well shaved.
Or I wouldn't get any kisses... I needed "smoothies"
If you have any smooth skin Sassy will find it. Her nickname is Licky-Lou.
Me, I shave one time a week. Whether I need it or not. We will be waiting your arrival Friday.

Good morning, 73 going to 85 today with rain in the FC

Mowed around the near the house areas yesterday. Will continue to mow today weather permitting.
Used the mini to change slope in a run off area draining down over a drop off in elevation to hopefully minimize erosion. Will watch during next rain fall to see if more adjustments will be needed. Also cleaned up the edge of wife's flower bed. And while the mini was handy also dug up two rocks that was bothering the mower. Amazing how and inch above the grass level turns into a huge boulder

Watched a WWII documentary Normandy to Berlin. Those men amaze me with their courage, dedication, and sacrifice towards the objective. No wonder they call these men and women the greatest generation.

I’d like to watch that. Dad was on that journey.
Basic at Ft Sill. He had never been out of the county before that train ride. Or was it a bus? I’ll have to ask
Then after basic he came up via Ft Meade in MD then to NYC and they got piled into the QE and started a zig zag trip across the Atlantic to Scotland. From there they travel south to the cliffs on south side of bay into Cardiff. He watched part of the Dday invasion leave Cardiff. He knew something was happening as he said all leave had been cancelled.
As artillery he arrive at Omaha beach a few days later, with dead bodies still on the beach, the front just about a mile in. Slowly worked their way thru France, to Belgium, Luxembourg, and was near Aachen I think, the north side of the bulge. He talks about the cold snowy winter, and the skies cleared up at Christmas, there were so many planes in the air you couldn’t see the sun.
Not sure how far he journeyed into Germany after that.
After the war ended, he was getting ready to get sent to the pacific when that ended. I have pictures of him on leave in Switzerland, and at the palace of Versailles. And this pic, not sure where taken.

Good morning! 66° now, high of 74°. It is supposed to rain today and looks like it could, radar doesn’t look all that convincing. We shall see.

Still recovering/decompressing after spending 2 days at Lima, OH for the races. Friday was the amateur “Pushin’ the Lima Cushion” event. Some really good racing. Rider I help was only riding the Hooligan bike this weekend as he was also in the invitational Hooligan race that was part of the AFT Lima race. We had a good Friday, but Saturday was a struggle. Broke something in the transmission during the last project. He was loaned a bike by another rider for the heat race, that one broke a ring in the rear cylinder, he was loaned another for the final that really didn’t run all that good. So he just ran laps but managed to pick up a few spots.

The pro races on Saturday were really good. Nothing like a cushion half mile for good racing. Got to see Briar Bauman get KTMKs first ever Super Twin win. That seems to be an impressive platform that has a lot of potential.

probably should get moving and finish some mowing on the north end of the property. Didn’t feel like doing it yesterday.

Everyone stay safe out there!

Morning all, another grey , maybe wet day. 72 going up to 85.
Dropped the kid and friend over in Princeton and went food shopping.
Replaced spring clip in living room chair that maker sent me, even though chairs are more than 15 years old, good service.
Wife made lasagna.
Talked to brother, dr.s still deciding what to do, keep telling him not to stress and then stress him about how to handle heart blockage.

Drew - you need your brother yo buy matching socks :) Nice of him to check out the site for you.

KC - most of my life on low cholesterol diet, always had high cholesterol.
Taking medicine now that lowers my cholesterol after having three major blockages.
I will be a good test case for what happens over time.
That tree is not near the shed, it's part of it

Wife's dad went through WW I being forced into German army and went through the most brutal actions until he escaped and marched for 2 months at night to escape. He visited us when we lived in California and lived up into the nineties. He seldom talked about it.

The Documentary was a free movie on Amazon prime.
Looks like he is showing a bullet hole in a German helmet.
