Can’t see what neighbors across road are up to. Yesterday and today keep hearing sound of extension ladder, and Spanish spoken.
Snagglepuss just jumped on my lap.

Good morning, started to rain and was hoping for a good shower but only made the ground wet.

Very dark clouds so maybe more rain is on the way?

Always wanted to do the Safari trip but never enough time/money to dedicate to it.
Hope she will be able to go. Group of her friends are going as well including a US friend living in Kenya and one from England
She lived in Cairo for a year and learned lessons about big city life. Nairobi is not on the agenda. The Hippos can be dangerous for sure.
Not sure about the food and the meat in it. Where did it come from?

@rswyan - hope you weathered the storm. Sounds like it was ugly north of here. Lots of reports of hail locally. OH turnpike was closed for a while.

Worst part of it tracked just to the southwest of us.

Apparent tornadoes leave damage, thousands without power in Northern Ohio

Got some rain here - with big lightning and loud thunder that shook the house - but no hail (thankfully)

I was tired and it seemed like it would be good sleeping weather so I hit the sack early.

Glad you guys came through it ok ... (y)

The couple with us in Capetown was from Botswana.
After their description of their area, not planning to go.

61.7F and supposedly cloudy @ 09:30 but I see the Sun peeking through. Heading up to around 68F for today's high.

Got 0.43" of rain yesterday, plus another 0.20 after midnight which might catch us up and eliminate the deficit for the year.

Ten Day showing another very nice stretch of weather, low chances of rain throughout the period.

Made more progress yesterday.

Got the weeds cleaned out around a couple more trees (Red Maple, Japanese Cherry)

Decided we're going to put down some of that plastic bed edging to keep the weeds from intruding around the trees. Probably pick up a couple of rolls of that from Menards today.

Moved the ATV/Motorcycle jack into the shop.

Got the FEL and box blade removed from the Kubota and got Kubota moved into the shop as well ... so I could work on it if it rains today. Of course, that assumes that the new water pump actually arrives today.

Pulled up a couple of 5' long pieces of rebar around the apple tree and used those to stake in new plastic netting around the east peach tree with a larger diameter circle. Woman pulled weeds and trimmed some branches around the base. New netting only 3' tall so will have to add a second piece above the first one.

Dump cart ended up getting a flat tire so that kind of put the kibosh on doing some additional work we could have done. Did get the tire and wheel removed so I can take it down to the tire shop today and get a new tube put in it.

Got east side of front lawn - which grows thick and very rapidly - cut, didn't bother with the rest of it as it was still too short. Did get the compost/woodlot mowed as well.

Blew the debris off the driveway in front of the garage with the Stihl blower before the rain arrived.

Some clean up and rearranging done in the garage.

Got the Unisaw off its feet and back onto the wheels, also started clearing off all the junk I had piled on top of it. Located the new shoulder strap for Stihl FS66, was buried under a bunch of junk on the Unisaw.

First item on agenda for today is to take dump cart tire/rim down and get a new tube put in it.

Hopper feeder probably due for a refill. Tube feeders are as well, but will hold off on that as the finches are eating the nyjer seed.

Probably put out some mealworms for the bluebirds. Still holding at 4 eggs as of yesterday. Not sure that we'll get a 5th one.

Mix up and strain stick juice, get it bottled up.

Hopefully get a call from the Kubota dealer that the water pump is in, run in and pick that up, probably swing by Menards for the edging since I'll be in that way.

Hope everyone is having a Good Friday ... (y)

She survived Egypt after terrorist bombing, robbed on street and assault on bus trip. Some tense moments when we lost contact. Had our company in Egypt looking for her

Good morning! Low of 53°, heading to 81°. Windy again today, but now windy for Sat and Sun, gusts to 40 mph.

Going to be hit or miss to work on the courtyard mulch....
I need to take the small tiller to and area to get it level, so will work that in early before the wind.

Dennis, smart kitty..... nobody in the seat-- fair game!
Hope you get a chance to mow. That drive doesn't sound pleasant, especially after mowing for a while.

Drew, hope you find an easy solution for the stump. Don't think there is any 'easy' way.

Everyone have a great day!

I spent a few weeks in Egypt, but that sounds horrible.
Not an easy place in the best of times.
Problem with many of these countries that are so unstable. She is obviously amazing to get through this and still keep on doing so many new things and achievements.

Yes agree. We were more worried about her year in Egypt that the year she spent in Afghanistan
