A wildgame camera. Saw Mike Morgan using this one, easy open bottom and batteries supposed to last long time.

That is a very reasonable price!!
I have been using Primos game cameras for years, going back to the big D-battery models, but they apparently are out of that market now… I found then easy to use, decent imagery and a good price point.

But they eventually die off and need replacing and I don’t need to be paying triple-digit prices for these things!!!

Ken, sorry about coworkers and hope wife situation improves.

Yesterday was 3 years already since wife’s dad died. A victim of covid, not that he had it, but just didn’t get the care and support he needed during that time.

Good Morning!!!! 62F @ 5:00AM. Lots of sunshine. High 87F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
No rain in the 10-day, back into the 90s by midweek.

Had a similar drain valve on the F250 4x4, and took it off after it started leaking. I do use the truck off road, and had nightmares of that extended drain plug getting knocked off by a rock. Not to mention a vandal slipping under there and opening the valve for kicks. May not be true of the valve you linked, RS, but the one I had drained very slowly, being only a fraction of the diameter of the drain hole in the pan. Couldn't find original drain plug when I went to replace the valve (of course). Took the opportunity to upgrade crush washers to ones with o-rings in the middle.

Hard to believe the devastation going on in Eastern Canada right now. I always thought of it as such a wet and lush place that such things could never happen there.

Had our first wildfire of any size yesterday to the south of here. Crews got it stopped at 7 acres. Shades of things to come.

NBroofReplacement.jpg

Crews got the new gutters installed on the roof day before yesterday, and yesterday got about half the roof panels up. They'll probably finish that today, and begin renewing the flashing on the roof penetrations. Good progress, but there will almost certainly be work left for next week.

Neighbor came by to deepen the hole for the gate post anchor; took less than five minutes. That auger on his giant backhoe broke through rocks like they weren't even there, and saved me hours with a digging bar and my wimpy auger. My visitor and I got the hole filled with rebar, concrete, and the new anchor. Now to let it set up for a week or so.

Also got the solar panels washed, and the oil changed on the generator, something I've been meaning to get to for way too long. The oil pan came equipped with a nice, long drain hose with a convenient valve on the end. Drained rather slowly, but very neat and easy to use. Good for another year.

Finished the day chowing down on some pork shoulders I'd rubbed with spices and cooled low and slow on the BBQ. Good eats!

TGIF gang!

The guys that did it were excellent, but only the foreman spoke English, everyone else spoke Spanish. And it was interesting that while they took no breaks, and worked very hard, and well as a team, it was siesta time between 11:30 and 12:30.
Same here. The youngest guy on the crew came to me earlier in the morning and asked for a spoon. Gave him two plastic ones, and saw he had two skillets going on portable burners. They were stuffed with chicken and the smells coming from them were wonderful. When they were ready, the crew toasted tortillas on the skillets and filled them with shredded chicken. More good eats. Next time I came by they were all sprawled out on the driveway taking their siesta. Once back on their feet, the Mexican music resumed, accompanied by much singing, joking, and laughing. The owner of the company was right up there on the roof with them, hauling up panels and screwing them down, setting a great example for his men...

I've fallen behind, and had to skip ahead. I hope I didn't miss any major news.

Plane crash flightpath had me puzzled too, thanks for clearing it up Popgadget. Memories of Payne Stewart and the flight he was on.

It does seem that there would have been hypoxia warnings on a jet like that capable of high altitudes.

RNG, glad the crews are getting on with your roof.

Daughter's 18th Bday was yesterday. We had Chinese food and a Nothing Bundt Cake at home, white chocolate raspberry, for dessert. Daughter is working as a wait person still, doing alright on the tips. Thank y'all for tipping for good service. Her restaurant suffers from the kitchen not being able to keep up with demand. Getting food to the table is slowed, and people get upset, and tips suffer. They have trouble hiring kitchen staff.

I'm off today, but still answering work emails as if I'm not off. I need to go get some diesel, and start shredding.

I ordered an A/C "kit" for the Traverse. The condenser coil was held up in shipment by 3 days, only to come in damaged freight. FedEx. I've filled out a report with RockAuto, who said they'd ship out another.....hope for better success this time.

I need to go get some of that $3.05/gallon diesel before I start shredding.

Prayers for our team, our country and for Ukraine to kick rear.

64F and sunny @ 09:30, heading up to around 74F for the day's high.

Yesterday was a good day.

Took Water Buffalo up to water those couple of Rose of Sharon bushes I found the other day and managed to find a a couple more. I think the count is up to 5 or 6 ... got them all watered ... (y)

Also checked Nest Box No. 3 and found a second bluebird egg inside it. Will have to put out some more mealworms today to reward their industriousness ... ;)

After that I watered the two peach trees again and then hit the one iffy rhododendron in the northeast planting bed which finished off the tank.

Took the WB back to the back of the house and refilled it.

Mowed the back over the septic bed, mainly because that's where I wanted to move the cattle panels to. It was pretty dusty.

Got the cattle panels moved after mowing.

After that I decided to tackle the tree removal to try and improve the lighting for the garden. Been a while since I've tried to drop anything this big (40' - 50' tall) and the job was complicated by the fact that the tree has two trunks which were close together at the bottom, making it difficult to do the back cut for the first trunk:

However I managed to stick the landing spot exactly where I wanted it:

IMG_2717 copy.jpg

Then it had to be cut up of course.

After 7 or 8 trips up to the brush and wood piles had the clean up mostly done, except for the detailing:

IMG_2718 copy.jpg

Wasn't too long before I had that knocked out as well:

Today I'll take a look at the remaining trunk and see where its shape (and weight) will make it want to go. Then see if I have enough chain (kinda doubtful) to hook up to the Kubota to pull it over as I fell it.

Would be nice if I had a long rope and some way to get it up into the tree towards the top to give some good leverage. But I don't have either.

After I finished up the tree work for the day, I finished up spraying on the east side of the frog pond and cleaned up a pot that had a tomato plant in it that a 'coon had gotten into.

By that point it was almost 20:00 so I placed my food order with the local pizza joint and knocked off.

Still getting a few straggler peony and iris blooms but they are pretty much done for the most part:

Hope everyone has a great Friday ... (y)

Good morning! Low was 54°, heading up to 77°. Sunny, breezes 10-15 mph, gusts to 25. The gusts started early--around 04:00.

Going to be a "take it as it comes" type of day..... not a clue as to what to get into first.....

Hope everyone has a great day!

67°F and no rain.

A good day yesterday, but just didn’t get as much done as hoped. If I could have kept up the pace I could have gotten 3 walls done time wise, but I ran out of me, so only 2. Will get the 3rd one today.

Spaghetti dinner came out excellent, but guys lost H&F.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

home sweet home
surprisingly easy drive home, had window rolled down most of way, perfect cool temps.
guy next to me in campground lives nearby, in Yardley, South of Ken. I asked him if he was taking the Blue Route home, and he said no,
he just goes up 95. Of course he lives just off 95. He said the construction was finished and he had no problems.
so with crossed fingers I came up that way and good thing I did. The ramp for the Blue Route was a parking lot.
So I passed it on by and kept heading North on 95. Went fine, reminded me of 20 years ago.
got off in Newtown and came home.

grabbed half a remaining sandwich and had lunch. Now for several hours of vehicle jockeying in driveway and putting things away.

I wonder if a strawberry is waiting for me...?
