Good Morning !

68F and sunny @ 09:30, heading up to around 83F for the day's high.

A Special Weather Statement has been issued for elevated fire risk today. That's a fairly rare thing around here but it's pretty dry.

Put pallet forks on Kubota yesterday and removed the parts of the dying maple that had fallen down and threw those up on the brush pile. Took three trips to get them all:

After that I got the hopper feeder and the two tube feeders refilled.

Then headed up to the shop and got back into working on the saw.

Got VFD mounted in metal enclosure, then metal enclosure mounted on the saw cabinet.

Installed the worm gear, shaft, and hand wheel to raise and lower the blade.

Then after that I got the wiring done on the Snap Switch that will feed 220v power to the VFD:

That took more than an hour, as the box was so shallow that I had to relocate one set of wires from the bottom to the side, and replace the bolt securing the box to the cabinet with a flat head machine screw so there was enough room for the switch to fit in the box and get the cover on.

Even so, it was a very tight squeeze with the 10 ga wires.

After that I started wiring the power feed to the VFD. Will need to take another look at that today and make sure there aren't any stray strands of wire in places they shouldn't be.

Got notice from Renovo that saw parts had shipped, should be here on Friday.

Knocked off around 20:00 as I had gotten up pretty early and I was tired.

Agenda for today will be to get Cub cleaned off and replace the air filter and get it rolled over closer to the door.

Beyond that, probably work on prepping saw motor for paint. Have a gasket I need to cut for the junction box on that.

And of course, there's more downed wood that needs cut up with the chain saw and removed.

Plus whatever else comes up.

Hope everyone is having a good Thursday ... (y)

Thanks for asking;
Doing OK most days, had a slight scare a bit back had some kind of flare up that put me in the hospital for 2 days, initially diagnosed as congestive heart failure now they are thinking it wasn't but don't really know what was going on.
...
Well Lou, you seem to be better. Take that as a positive and keep moving forward.

You'd think a congestive heart failure would be more readily id'd by now.

Stay well.

HOA's can protect the property but can also be a pain in the neck. When the kids were smaller we ran into no parking of the motorhome in the driveway and we went to the meeting of the members and argued our case even though they would not recognize us to speak. Wife's were not allowed to speak so she stepped up and took over the mic and dressed them down and shamed them based on this is our car to fit the size of the family. We never heard another word about it so it must have worked.

64°F and .71 inches rain. Raining pretty good as in more than just a morning shower.

Could definitely impact ability to work outside today.

H&F has been rescheduled back to this afternoon.shrimp curry on the menu.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Frits, thank you. I did start with a plan. Nicely drawn out on the computer, but that was only for the basic structure and solar. Adding the doors and closing in with the poly panels has been more impromptu with just minimal sketches.

A note that might garner a chuckle or 2. My primary design app is my Numbers spreadsheet. I can do scaled 2 dimensional drawings and any number of tables as appropriate.

Ted, whim? LOL, only partially. My original planning was for the full 12 ft, but location of the support posts was dictated by the existing concrete and structure, less than 12 ft. I opted for smaller PV array, moving the top beam in. Also why array doesn’t extend to front requiring metal flashing. Figured the extra bracing wouldn’t hurt and made for interesting look at no cost.

I can imagine some HOA would have decided you had too many kids.
Thankfully I’m married to our HOA and most times she can be reasoned with
