Ken, working for a company with swings in workload and layoffs is always stressful. Seeing good employees being let go is always hard. Hopefully the work load will stabilize and no more layoffs coming

Instead of 1" snow mix with rain got light coating of ice here and there.

No signs of Ms. Fox this morning.

Short work day afterwards spots for critter food and kitten food etc.,bought both kitten new toys but they should more interest in the box toys came in.

Plans for the evening... hmmm not sure yet.

Stopped to get gas this morning and was surprised it had dropped since last week, it was $3.07 - paid $3.17 last week..

One harsh reality is that layoffs are an easy way to trim deadwood. Sounds like that is what some of those west coast tech companies are doing. It can be a real hard thing for some people. Some never get over it.

55F here this afternoon. Very nice day for February. I took the EGO for a walk to chop up the leaves that had blown onto the front yard. Looks a lot better. I doubt if I was cutting much grass.

There is almost a dollar spread between the high and low diesel prices here in town. The oil companies are reporting record profits. I wish I had oil company stock.

The other thing some companies do is relocate so less dedicated folks quit and the new location will give at times generous tax incentives
