Good morning!!!!

I have the Cyberpower 1500VA Sine Wave from Costco ($179) I think I got it 3 years ago and it was used a lot during the rolling 2 hour power outages in Feb. 2021. I just checked and it has 164 minutes estimated run time if power should go out.

The 3 dead ones I have are all cyber power. But I replaced the apc batteries last year so they are still good.

And the apc at church shows good batteries on the display, until you test it, and it immediately shows dead battery.

Something interesting I came across...

One of the most used apps on my cell phone is a step counter. Since I tend to sit on my butt for long periods of time and then get busy, curiosity always got the better of me.

I think 10,000 steps a day, is unobtainable for a lot of people. Me included, I am averaging about 8,000, which for me is about 3.7 miles a day. Granted most of the average is based on highly intense activity during the weekend.

Not so much luck talking with Kitchenaid about the mixer..... they will sell a new replacement at a very slight discount or a refurbished one. Pretty much "sorry, but the warranty is out"..... It would cost $35 for shipping, $25 for a diagnostic, and minimum repair cost of $50, but could go higher.

So, in my prudent fashion, looked up the parts diagram. Took the mixer apart and low and behold..... a broken kevlar bevel gear. The ONLY plastic gear, all the rest are steel. No steel replacement made. Apparently this gear was made with the kevlar to "reduce motor noise". I would rather have a little more noise and have better dependability.
There are two of them in stock down in the city for $9 each. They will be picked up this afternoon. One will be a backup.

Took a total of 12 minutes to get the thing apart, probably the same going back together. I'll get it fixed and we'll use it until the next time. No brainer---$110+, then wait weeks, OR, $9 and 20 minutes of my time.

We thought about upgrading to the next professional size (double the power), but way expensive around $400. Now if the old one lasts for a few more years....

Needless to say, haven't done anything else but search for parts. The Jeep isn't going anywhere, tomorrow is another day!

Now I need a nap.....

Did you test it by just unplugging it, or some other way? How many years did the batteries last?

Church one is Tripp lite, not apc. It shows full battery. Press the test button, it says bad battery or something like that. It has been turning itself off recently. My cyber power ones with dead batteries also turn off.

3 dead home ones are cyber power. I’ve yet to pull a battery.

Since I thought this was apc and it wasn’t, maybe it was another church ups I changed batteries in 4 yrs ago. I need to date new batteries with sharpie. I know I ordered 2 batteries just like these 4 yrs ago from Amazon. New batteries got delivered today.

figured all that rain would crack the tomatoes and a few of these did have cracks, those pinkish ones.
Took about five pounds over to neighbor across the street who loves tomatoes. She was mighty happy.
Now I'll need to eat a few of these and give the rest away to other neighbors.
I haven't met one of the neighbors nearby and thought I'd take some tomatoes over as way to meet.

Could you get a couple more scanned and 3D printed?

Mike, interesting article.
One of the annoying features I haven’t turned off on my apple watch is the stand feature. Have to meet minimum stand requirement each hour for 12 hours every day. Sometimes I cheat, just walk to take a leak.

Drew, are you same rain doing the Philly area flooding?

Wow. Interesting. Never heard of that.

Reminds me of one uncle of mine. He was really into squats. That and ketchup on his eggs. LOL. I picked up the eating habit, not the exercise.

2.02 inches here, manageable, much higher elsewhere.
I'm happy with this but yes same storm now heading out

apple pie almost done baking, making house smell good.
had a couple ears of corn for dinner, was awful, but saved room for pie.
Always room for apple pie. Make room for cherry pie...
I'll put some low carb ice cream on the apple pie, that will make it all healthy.
that's what it says here on the label...

and regarding the sausage and peppers. Peppers and onions sure were good. Plant based sausages gummy, chewy and very
spicy, which was only redeeming value. Won't buy that again. I'm sure there's better.

I did buy a can of Spam just for old times sake. Haven't had any in likely thirty or forty years. wonderful sizzling in pan with a couple of eggs.
I'm told Spam was brought to Hawaii by servicemen and has never left. I think they sell over a million cans a day worldwide, something simply mind boggling.
That's a lot of pig snouts. But hey, someone has to eat that snout...
