I think I’ve just found my new role model. I hope to just like him when (if?) I’m 98!

I bought him a Lincoln AC welder many years ago, after his welding buddy died. Should see his welds. Don’t think you want him to be your role model for welding.

Maybe not a role model for welding, but a great role model for living!!
98 years old and still operating and working on equipment...that's remarkable!!

Good Morning All -

Drizzled all day yesterday - all night - still is. Only good point - without much sun the grass is growing much slower.

Nice planes, Alien.

I have a hangar queen sitting in my barn. I was part of "Team Kamikaze", micro flights and all that before skill kicked in. LOL. Would love to get back into it one day.

It's 63 outside this AM. Slight drizzle... perfect for the grass.

Last night I managed to do the final punch through the wall on the Milk House. Now I can start framing all the existing doors shut. The area behind my plastic, currently my tool shop, is the planned bathroom.

Hope all have a great weekend.

while disappointed with my broccoli production, peppers seem to be making up for it. Tiny little plant and pumping out a nice sweet pepper already, this one will be orange.

not pleased with my US made ramps. Lousy QC. They missed cutting off the mold plugs on one of them so it would not sit level at all. Cold chisel and hammer fixed that promptly.
What can't be fixed is the 1/4 inch variances on both ends of ramps; just not cut evenly. Shouldn't affect operation and I'm sure ramps work fine, but c'mon Rhino, you can do better than this.

Morning all.

60F and sunny @ 08:00, heading up to a high of around 78F. Promises to be another beautiful day ... but rain heading in this evening, and will become steady overnight. Calling for an accumulations of around 0.25" ... enough to keep the green things humming along I guess.

Orange still out on feeder this morning.

Need to refill and re-bait chipmunk traps.

Trip to Menards on agenda for today, probably pick up 3 gallons of gas for the Cub while I'm out and stick 10 gallons in the van while I'm at it which might last another month ... if I can keep the trips out down.

Lawn down here around the house needs cut so that will be on the punch list.

Hose out aquarium and fill it to test for leaks.

Did not manage to summon the motivation to re-pot any pepper plants last night. Will see if I can manage to do so today.

Give veggie seedlings a drink with some 1/2 strength MiracleGro water.

See about planting some more hosta in the second circle and the east planting bed.

More mulching likely as well.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday ... (y)

Good morning! 80˚F heading to 104˚ cloudless sky. We are under a heat advisory till 7PM Sunday, as tomorrow will be the hottest day at 105˚ and our 7th day of 100 or above.

The neighborhood has an Airport for the model airplanes and a racetrack and obstacle course for the model cars/trucks. It's fun to watch them.

Need to thin the row of okra in the garden and give it an extra soaking this morning. I also need to give all the yard shrubs an extra drink of water today. Still no rain predicted after washing my truck. Looks like the only reason to wash it is insect splatters.

Do any of y'all remember bomb drills in school back in the 60's? I think they started in the 50's. We had to duck under our dest and cover our heads during the drill.

64 going to 79...had a few rain drops this morning, but hopefully some more later today.

Buppies, glad the skin taken care of and not more serious surgery needed.

BEF, your dad is amazing!

Thomas, you think one or two fawns on the way?

I accidentally jumped a tiny spotted fawn when clearing some storm damaged brush last week. I was 10 yards away, so surprised it bolted...I was only in that spot for a moment.

Rip, I've had several ticks on me already this year, even though I do tick checks after coming in from the woods or fields.

My wife and I went up to the mountains yesterday. There is only one gas station in the entire Shenandoah National Park, and it's usually more expensive than other places. Well, yesterday it was 20 cents a gallon cheaper, and we had about half a tank, so filled up there for the first time. Then a Tesla pulled up...sorry, no chargers here (although they do have them elsewhere in the park). Deer, rabbits and turkey were in the road frequently, but saw no bears (I think they all moved to Franklin County, Buppies).
