Good Morning!!! (afternoon, actually). 84F @ 12:45PM. A mix of clouds and sun. High 93F. Winds light and variable.

Glad you got your StarLink up and running, David. Other than a "INVALID CREDENTIALS" problem when I try to login to the SETTINGS menu, I've seen no problems with the one here. On the UDMP, I set up WAN1 to use the StarLink, and WAN2 to use HughesNet. Then under the Internet tab in the Network app, selected Failover for for Load Balancing. That's the only option available. I usually see one or two instances a day where StarLink goes down for a few seconds and triggers the failover, but nothing longer than that. I've never seen it interrupt anything going on with the network.

Got back from the second half of the motorcycle trip last night, which involved camping for a couple nights at Camp Nelson, then a trip south to Lompoc to drop off my riding buddy. The last two days were pretty windy, making for not much fun on the bike. But at least it was dry, and in the mountains, cool. The fire devastation around Camp Nelson was just tragic, and it came quite close, within a short walk of the village. It'll take several lifetimes for the area to recover.

PG&E had another line walker out this morning. He marked several trees for removal, but I pointed out that two of them were on state property. He wasn't sure what to do about that, but nothing's happened in the past when I pointed out the same thing to other walkers.

Still have some unpacking to do, mainly to dry out a tent that was dew soaked Sunday when we left. Wouldn't hurt to air out the sleeping bag, either.

I did have a little luck at the swap meet at the Quincy rally. Picked up another riding jacket like the one I was using, but in much better condition. Also found the first version of the popular Kermit camping chair that is lighter and more compact than the one currently being sold. But it's all metal, and has some small parts what will be easy to lose. It is nice and sturdy, and the legs are unlikely to sink into the ground like the popular tent pole based designs.

No problems at home while I was gone, except for a mouse that provided food to a new batch of maggots after it got caught in a trap. Glad I didn't stay out longer, as the house would have been swarming with flies.

Thanks, RNG. Does the UDMP switch back to SL on its own?
I’ve read where some are using a Pep link device for bonding/load balance. I ‘think’ the benefit being both sources are active.

Left work early for a doctor's appointment (got lucky...there had been a cancellation which got me the appointment). This one is for painful urination and when I do, just dribbling. I've really reduced my coffee consumption and really increased my water consumption.
The doc offered a prescription for antibiotics, but that didn't work last time. When I write pain...any of you guys ever had the clap? I never have (lucky me!!) but was taught (in the Navy) that one symptom is painful urination...

Got gas for the mower (about 7 gallons) and half a tank for the Tacoma...$88!!!!
Got home about 1600 and it looked like rain, so I held off on mowing...no rain, so I made the wrong decision. Going to be rainy next couple days...

I'm hoping all went well with Thomas. When I had my pacemaker put in (and when it was replaced), I spent one night in the hospital...home the next day. Hopefully, Thomas will post tomorrow sometime

Yes, it does.

The UDMP sends an email out each time the StarLink fails, and again when it restores. It's rare that the emails go out more than a minute apart, through sometimes the one signalling restoration don't go out at all.

68° and very little rain at home .15”. Lots of rain near work.

Crazy day on the roads. At lunch I ran out to pick up food, semi almost hit me, as he decided to pass as I was getting into what had been an empty lane. I gave him the stare at the next light. Truck had a “rented to” cardboard sign taped to it, not sure it even had a DOT number. Then getting off freeway, more cars backed up the light than I have ever seen, took 2 turns of light to get thru.
Pulled into Chick-fil-A, line wrapped twice around building. I crept around the outer circle, then decided to bail out when I got to the back exit. Fortunately only 1 person in line at chipotle. Returning to office, fire trucks had opposite side of freeway shut down, saw one car on shoulder. I get off, here comes ambulance. The accident, or whatever was on the bridge over this road, looks like ambulance was trying decide how to get there. It decided to go East then turn back I guess.
Then heading down 2 Lane road to office, car ahead slammed on brakes, I slammed on my brakes, car behind didn’t hit me either. Car ahead pulls to shoulder, we pass, then it does uturn in middle of road.
All this just for a “quick “ lunch run. Crazy.

Traffic was bad coming home also. Only crazy was a guy passed several cars using exit only lane then blinks left to get back into the backup about 10 cars ahead.

My starlink comes tomorrow, might stay home to receive it.
