Good morning to all! Low was 45°, going up to 75°, sunny. We are in between systems, so no wind today. It will be back with a vengeance tomorrow unfortunately.

I will take the opportunity today to get a few more fence posts / framework in the ground. Not sure how far I'll get.

Well it only took 4 days for the son's house to get sold.... pending sale anyway. Don't know if there was a bidding war or not.

RIP, hope the insurance comes through for the damage. Hope you found everything that was damaged.

Wng, sounds like a very nice hike beautiful area and pics, thanks for posting.

Roy, just take your time doing the chores.... you don't need any more issues.

Drew, a bird bath sounds like a nice addition. We enjoy watching the birds at the feeders / pond.

RNG, hope you decimate the solar company. Do you have an amount of time you spent troubleshooting/correcting the problems? A counter suit may prove to be in order. Good luck. Hope you're able to chase that gremlin out of the van...

David, very nicely done! Can't tell it was a container at all! The wifey said "tell David we'll be out next week"..... (I wish).....

Ken, good job on the thumb. They definitely come in handy for sure. I had to do some shims when I put the same thumb on my SCUT. Didn't have any problems with it. I put the factory thumb on my CUT.

Kyle, now I know who to send any machining to.... great job!
Want to build a land plane?

Gonna get going.....
Everyone have a great day!

We've had a (busy?) week. Margaret and I both had minor ailments; different for each of us, but we finally went to see the (nurse/practicianer?) at our doctor's office. I've had a lot of back trouble that's about gotten well by this morning, and Margaret says her neck pain (no, not me, a real pain the neck) is much better, too.

67° windy and overcast this morning, and going for a high of 87°. Yesterday was the first time for the lawn mowing crew I recently signed up for. Talk about 2 guys in a hurry, they were really moving fast, and did a good job.

About 3 days ago, a 2 man crew showed up to hook up a new Spectrum line. They've had a line down along the fence from our pole north to the next pole for more than a year. A two man crew had finally arrived a few months ago and put a new line on the poles, but did not hook it up; said someone else would come do that. So now the guys came to hook it up, just as we were leaving to run to a daughter's home and back; only gone less than 2 hours and when we got back, the 2 man crew was gone . . . . AND . . . . we had no TV, no Internet, and no house phone. So after about 36 hours a nice young technician showed up, had to go up and down his long ladder 3 or 4 times, but eventually got our service restored.

65°F and .02 inches rain.

Off to get our 2nd alligator booster this morning , followed by trip to Waimea to Dairy Queen.

Dinner and H&F this afternoon at John & Diane’s new house for 1st time.

Pedro got in and settled in Studio. Construction of his new home begins in earnest although the actual house kit that was promised for last week may not be delivered for several weeks. Fortunately other work can get done in preparation. The Studio gives him a base of operations here in the neighborhood to travel back and forth.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

RNG, I ordered 3 replacement sprockets for my Makita chainsaw after your experience, but haven’t needed them yet. But I don’t think that I have ever killed a pair of batteries in one outing, I’m thinking you use yours a lot more than me.
I'll typically go through three sets of batteries in a day, Paul, and have only used that sprocket for two days. But it was worn enough that chain tension was all over the place, such that it would run free when first adjusted, then get so tight the saw wouldn't start when the trigger was pulled. Once it got to that point, loosening the chain tension would allow the chain to jump off the bar. Flipping the socket over on the shaft will get some more time out of it, but it will eventually go bad, too. At least that's been my experience.

If I get some time, I'll write a note to Makita tech support and include some photos of the sprockets. I'm not expecting much in the way of a reply, but I'd much prefer they fix the problem than try to make tiny welds with hardfacing wire and the GTAW machine.

Bedroom, Kitchen, bathroom all have screened windows. Additionally the bedroom has a 6 foot slider to outside and the bathroom a vented exhaust.

The slider doors didn’t come with screens. Sadly the post purchase ones we have bought in past seem to rust out way too fast. Considering alternatives.

Thanks, Ted, tell wife come on over

I agree, maybe a countersuit. Possibly to include the business as well as the individual. I’m sure RNG has great records. He could also include his forum postings to support timeline.

Thanks for the condolences guys.

Greatly appreciated.

Definitely a hard thing when one loses someone you're close to ... be it man or beast.

Was made even more difficult as he fought it all the way, which the vet commented was unusual in her experience.

She had given him a sedative, to allow her to shave his front leg to find a vein. She expected that the sedative itself might cause him to pass. It didn't and it took longer than expected to have any effect.

She told us when she gave him the final dose he might be gone by the time she had finished the injection.

He wasn't ... and had quite a reaction to it ... which was very disturbing to watch.

Only upside at this point is that he is no longer suffering, which he clearly was in his last few days.

Have mixed feelings about going down that path, but we've also tried to avoid it (with one of the beagles) and know just how bad it can get.

Thanks again.
