46° right now...high in the mid-60's and more rain...

I see Microsoft has updated Edge again.... this one really sucks and uninstalling requires more work than it should. I haven't tried it yet, but this is the procedure
MS has got to learn to allow the user to install any updates, along with a method to uninstall it...before the class action lawsuit

The UTI came back with a vengeance, again, yesterday. I think it's something I'm drinking (coffee, although I've really cut down). Anyway, I tried these:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KOFCNP0?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details and they work quite well
It's a bit embarrassing to bring this up, but for others who may have the same problem, those pads really work well. Also, quite discrete

Doctor's appointment this afternoon...cardiologist

   / Good morning!!!! #148,462
good luck today with cardio doc Roy.
sorry about leakage, I wore those for three weeks two years ago.

wish it wasn't going to rain this morning. Maybe car valet guy will get here before it starts and I can put the car away clean.
They usually wash them after an overnight stay. They took it on Friday and returning Tuesday. And gave me the almost identical car as a loaner.
I am reminded of Roy's saying so I know the cost is built in, but the convenience is worthwhile for me.

My brother's daughter is up with two small boys, I'll be seeing them on Wednesday. I asked what the kids liked and was told lollipops.
Ok. One small bag of sugar free Jollipops has arrived and ready to bribe little kids. They will remember that Uncle Drew
brings the good stuff...

Good morning, all! Fine day today, going up to 61°F here in town. Taking the dog to the vet for his annual flea/tick treatment, and then the wife may get her cast off at 12:30 surgeons appointment today! Also finally getting my new MacBook Pro that I ordered back in February through the University.

Easter is coming up. Time to order the turkey!

Spring is certainly here, and the ice is starting to melt on our bay up north. It’s about time! Looking forward to putting the water toys back in and hooking up the dock. Up north here we have to disconnect the dock and float it out into deep water so it doesn’t get broken up when the ice does.

Each season has its own adventures. One of ours in Spring is to sit outside in the evening on the deck and listen to the creek roaring past, some 10 feet from the cottage. Then the Suckers start migrating up the creek. Someone told me that having suckers means your lake is in good health, but I have heard mixed reviews on the eating.

Have a lovely day everyone!

Good morning! 46 now, supposed to get to 67 today and no rain. Likely best day of the week, may get some outside stuff done. The 10 day forecast continues to be cool and damp.

I have used a shoulder strap for years when string trimming. Makes it bearable.

Needed an odd bolt yesterday for the race bike. Engine mounts work better when they have correct parts installed 🤦‍♂️. Fortunately found the bolt at one of the 2 industrial supply places locally. 3/8-16X10 is not that common. So that is now fixed. Removed the crudely welded bracket from the frame. Gonna make an electric tray for the tail section next.

But today hope to spend some outside time. Been precious little of that with the weather we have had.

Everyone stay safe out there!

Good Morning.
It’s 48 and should make it to a sunny 70 after some passing showers this morning.

Yesterday went according to plan, more or less. I had to get a jack adapter for the tail of the airplane from Philadelphia to Allentown as well as the engine logbook. I got another pilot to go get the adapter and bring it to me, which saved me two hours of driving. I made good use of that time, making some speaker progress and helped daughter with her mixer project, which came out pretty well.

IMG_8561.jpg

It’s interesting that this mixer is 600 watts, and the new version is only 300 according to my daughter.

I got to Allentown in time to help lift the engine off, I ended up being the forklift operator.

It’s a pretty compact package for 1650 horsepower, weighs a bit over 600 lbs. they did find some broken bolts, suggesting a a vibration issue, the core turns at 43,000 rpm, so there can be significant vibration that isn’t easily felt.

I’m not sure what is on tap for today, Emily has taken a turn for the worse, and can barely get up or move around, it’s time for a hard decision as to what is best for her.

Although suckers are bony, filet them to get the bones out. They taste like whitefish when they are deep fried.

Quite a few years ago whenever I went smelt fishing, if we caught suckers we would do them up along with the smelts, pan fry the smelts and deep fry the suckers. A good feast along with a box (24) or two of beer.

Morning all 49 and going up to 73, rain, then maybe a day of sun, then rain, then some sun.
Got some sticks picked up and cleared out where the forsythias and other stuff will go of small sticks.
Need tractor to get larger rounds, still too wet.
Trench which is normally dry a day after rain stops, now has a constant flow....

Roy sorry to hear the UTI is acting up, hope Dr. appt goes well and they help you out.

My Aunt goes in for an operation later in the month, this is the one that needs monthly blood transfusions due to her cancer.

Check - bet she us happy to see the cast cast away.

PopG Sorry to hear about Emily, hard decision, but still hope you don't have to make it.

BEF - the area you show with the forsythia looks similar in size, we are thinking of putting in golden mops in front well spaced and then trees in each of the two curves. Also have 2 Almond trees and a pine and a Burr Oak in that area.

Stay safe and be well,
Stick pile from the one area, about 6' high, my height. Prepped for the chipper.

The area, sticks came from center, rounds are 12 - 30+" in the center that needs to be removed

Good Morning!!!! 36F @ 4:30AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 62F. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph.
Only 0.07" of rain fell yesterday, not far off the 0.1" predicted. Lots more on the way, at least in the forecast.

Way behind but trying to catch up. Glad to hear of the positive outcomes on the various procedures and projects.

Quiet, stay-at-home kind of weekend down south. Found the vent for the water heater was the best candidate for the water leak in my friend's garage, and tweaked the WiFi router to get rid of an overlap with the neighbor. Otherwise, enjoyed the mild weather with some hiking and lounging on the patio. Uneventful ride down, but more than warm on the last leg, and no fun baking in stopped traffic. Yesterday was a different story, with heated gear keeping me warm and some ripping cross winds to keep me on my toes once I crossed back into the Central Valley. The time BMW spent in the wind tunnel with that fairing really paid off yesterday.

I found the driveway much smoother on my return, but it still needs several feet cut out off it to eliminate the very steep section. Walked it again with the GPS, and will plot out the elevation to show the contractor where to focus his efforts. He did get the giant dirt pile redistributed, but it's hard to tell where it all went. I did find a couple trees had been taken down, though, and need to find their way to the burn pile.

Going to be a slow start to the week here; I'm already a day behind...

Good morning! A warm cloudy morning at 72˚F with severe wether this afternoon kind of predicted. They are giving themselves a bunch of outs by saying certain things have to happen with the opening in the "cap" of warm air. ? But just to get reader's attention they say egg size hail is possible. We are still very dry and the town has implemented water restrictions.

FireWise brush clearing today.

Mostly, How many miles was the "Race".

Roy hope the cardiologist visit is helpful today,

48°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 76° today. Drove through some light rain on the way to work this morning. The bumpy stuff is supposed to hit us tomorrow.

Started feeling rough again yesterday afternoon, and didn't get much of anything done after I got home. I did manage to remember to order more oil filters for my car. The website I ordered them from last time no longer sells that one, so I had to go direct to Kia.

Nice pictures, fellas.

64 and sprinkles earlier. Getting to 79.

Get well Roy and PJ!

Check, glad you wife gets the cast off and the ice at your place is gone.

Congrats on the San Antonio ride, Mostly!

Dug up some volunteer white pines and transplanted to my tiny Christmas tree plot. Still have about half left to do, but need to dig some more holes...put the bucket back on the tractor to serve as the extra wheelbarrow needed...don't think I'll need to use the grapple for a couple of weeks.

Went spring gobbler hunting again yesterday...had one lovesick bird near me gobble 101 times before he flew down and quieted. Only had jakes and hens come by, so no shooting, but I'm always fine with that, since I just enjoy listening and watching them. Filled up the truck on the way home...set a new personal record...$94.41 ($3.95/gal)...was kinda hoping to hit $100 just for the irony of it, but still had over a quarter of a tank left. I know lots of you have gone over $100. If I had a 3pt auger, I'd start drilling behind the house.

For the first time ever, I had to file an amended tax return this morning...simply forgot (misfiled but now found) a 1099 for a class action suit settlement I received early last year...used my same tax prep software, but was not pleased with how sloppy it handled an amended return...one example: tried to make me print and mail the Fed return, but by digging, I found how to file electronically again...and it totally abuses the state return process. Oh, well...I keep buying it every year, so I get what I pay for!

Speaking of class action suits...I guess I can't complain too loudly since I accept the money...but it sure seems like there are a lot of them, some legit, but often for very flimsy reasons or evidence...seems kind of like extorting companies...and you know who really makes out on them.

58F and sunny @ 11:00, heading up to a high of 69F for the day. We might beat that.

Hopper feeder is empty, needs refilled.

Got a good night's sleep last night ... after staying up all night the night before. Now on an earlier schedule which is good.

Got Mister dropped off at the vets yesterday morning, then took the other two in the afternoon for their shots and a wellness check. On Mister vet could not find any issue with UTI, so we let it go at that, given the expense of proceeding any further (next step would have been an x-ray) As it is, we had about $300 in the wellness checks and vaccinations for the three cats - which I don't consider unreasonable, particularly given they were way overdue.

Mister was down to 15 lbs (from 18 previously), Missy was down to around 11 (from 15) which the vet said was a good weight for her, and Squeak came in at 6 lbs.

The biggest disappointment was the additional $300 we spent on Mister trying to find out what is going on with him, without much in the way of a definitive result. Vet did recommend that we switch him over to primarily a wet (canned) food diet which we will do.

Squeak has finally gotten around to getting up this morning (unusual for her to get up so late) ... possibility she is having a little reaction to the vaccinations. Dosages were the same regardless of weight, so it might be hitting her harder than the other two.

All of the order from Holland Bulb Farms - except for the fruits and veggies - came in yesterday, so we'll be working on getting those potted up and set out back today:

Found out The Woman does NOT like gladiolus - don't order any of those !

Ooops !

Got all the aluminum cans bagged up and loaded into the van yesterday, so a trip to the metal recycler is on the agenda first thing for today. Will swing by Tractor Supply and pick up the order there, and by Menards to pick up that order as well.

Have a couple of other items on the agenda as well, depending on the time works out.

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday !

66°F and .72 inches rain.

Plan is to continue doing indoor, computer oriented tasks. After taxes yesterday I made great progress addressing this years spreadsheets. Also learned my MacBook Air is officially old, as it will not take the latest MacOS update. Should have been paying attention I guess as I had already ordered a replacement battery as I was getting a service notice. No rush to replace the computer itself as long as it does what I need. I had already been thinking of upgrading my iPad this year.

Got an unexpected call from hospital, nurse following up on my surgery. Nice touch.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

I’ve received three class action settlements in the last couple of months, two were to my late wife, she’d be glad to know she’s still contributing.

75 and sunshine, finally.
Have my five day follow up visit to eye surgeon today. I’m loving the new found vision and I can’t wait to get the right eye done.

Cut some dead limbs off the dogwood and hauled them to the woods. I was going to fill up the tractor but my homemade transfer pump seized up, I’m going to suck it up and buy a good one, tired of fooling with it.

I’ve got to change my flag, the wind this spring did it in, nice flag too. I’m going with a 2.5’ x 5’ this time as the ratio is closer to proper than the 3x5. Don’t know if I’ll like it but we will see.

Prayers for all to get better.

got a small order of Burpee potatoes planted in last two potato bags and then washed the car.
Discovered they paid no attention to me twice when I told them the bad right rear wheel had been brought to the front by the local tire place
when I got new tires. Told service person that, told driver that, but original we owe must have popped up in system and it looks like they sent a perfectly good rim out for
straightening. I'm about to go drive it for first time since I got it back. They put on all new pads and rotors up front, no charge.
Seems strongly proactive.

had a few potatoes left over, giving them to friend who is my Mikey, he gets what I have overflow on.

Good morning (well afternoon...) low was 52°, up to 65° today, but today is the worst of the 4 day "wind event" as the guessers are calling it. It started on Sunday, which wasn't too bad.... 20-25 mph gusts. Yesterday the morning wasn't bad, but the afternoon saw 30-35 mph gusts. Today is the worst, dirt/dust blowing bad with 50-60mph gusts.

Can't even go out to the shop without getting sand blasted. I opened the car door this morning and a cloud of dirt puffed out from the weather strip. Then when I started it up, more dirt blowing out the vents.... I hate the wind!

I was going to get a pic of the blowing dirt, but you'll have to use your imagination..... I'm not going outside. It was bad enough bringing in the boxes from Costco. The wind wasn't nearly as bad down in town.

I was able to get a full pallet of the bagged mulch yesterday at Lowes. Apparently there are 65 bags on a pallet. Got it unloaded before the wind started. I'm going back for a second pallet tomorrow.

Fencing project on hold for now until the wind subsides....maybe Thursday or Friday will provide better conditions. No rush on my part....

Got to scurry out to the local grocery for the remaining items on the list...

I'll get caught up on here later this evening....

Everyone have a great day!

LS, glad we don’t get those winds here very often, and usually no dirt in ours.
