Roy, keep up your spirits. Sometimes I think we pull a cart behind us with all our problems in it
and sometimes that load gets very heavy.
It's the job of your friends to try to lighten it.
Slow and steady wins the race.
Looks like we will both get a haircut today.
New barber for me.
Always a concern...do they understand what "just a trim" means?
Mine do...the barbers I go to were a father and son outfit. The father, Ken ("Ken's Barber Shop" Randolph VT), is now retired and the son (Tom) now runs the place with a few contract barbers. The COVID shutdowns really hurt small businesses like Ken's. I always made sure they got a healthy tip when I get my haircut (ain't a hell of a lot to cut, but anything to support small business).

It's tough to speak the proper language/lingo in a profession you are not in. A few years ago I finally asked the barber who gave me a good haircut how I should I explain to a barber the type of haircut he just gave me. He did and it works.
(For my haircut the proper terminology that works when the barber ask "How would your you like it cut today?" is: "Finger length on top and tapered on the sides.")

Roy, I had the same barber from around 1952 (pic of me as two year old in his barber chair) up until about ten years ago.
Then he wound up with dementia and had to stop cutting hair, he'd get half way through and couldn't remember what to do next.
We all loved him so he was always treated with gentleness.

His replacements were a husband and wife team in the middle of a nasty divorce,
she was ok, talked too much and cut my hair too short, talk, cut, talk, cut....geez please talk less and cut less.
Then she left and husband cut my hair once. What an obnoxious person he was, had hoped that changed.
So I knew I needed a new barber, who happens to be in the same shopping center so it's easy. My brother had to change also and he reported back
to me she was ok. Sometimes it's hard to get just a haircut anymore. No I don't want my hair washed, there isn't enough of it anyway...

Don, good advice, thank you. Another term is "off the ears". When you think about it, not very precise instructions, all about how much tapering they do.
Be thankful you have enough hair to taper. ;)

Good morning! The cold and wet will not be here till tonight. 57˚F heading to the mid 70s Then we will have one day of Texas winter weather (High temps just in the 50s) before Texas Fall wether returns us back to the 70s.

The bridge will have to be modified or warning signs put up. The fall into the creek happened the first hour the trail was opened to the public. There was also a complaint that small dogs cannot cross it because the stones are a foot apart.

Good morning.
It’s 43 and going to 50 with a chance of spotty rain.

Yesterday I kept busy all day, and made progress on many fronts.
Continuing to clean and organize in the shop, pulled out the PTO generator and ran it on the load bank for a while, as it hadn’t been used in quite a while, as it’s been relegated to the backup to the backup. I probably should sell it, but it goes against my nature to get rid of tools, so I’ll hang on to it. You never know when it might come in handy.

We had our first in person odd fellows meeting in at least 18 months last night, masks and 10 foot spacing. There was a poor turnout, with at least one member saying they weren’t going wear a mask as a reason to not attend.
A curious response considering that the very charter of the lodge is to help others.

I’ll likely have breakfast with a friend this morning, and then continue cleaning, organizing and maintaining, and of course voting.

Drew, the difference between a good haircut and a bad one is only a couple of weeks.

Don, the bridge is what's known in legal terms as an attractive nuisance, meaning it's very nature attracts you to use it, but it then comes with dangers. Like an unfenced pond.
Bottom line is you can't have folks slip and fall on a pathway, and for sure it's not handicap accessible. As soon as I saw it, I thought where are the railings?
If pure art, don't let folks walk on it...otherwise it has to be pretty safe for public use.

Thanks for the Professional terminology!

I know Buppies but common sense is only accumulation of experiences. Sometimes the only way to get it is to fall in a creek.

I dug my bike out of the basement, pumped up the tires and went down to the Susquehanna river trail. They had paved the northern 3 miles during the pandemic. Nice and smooth. I felt like I was flying until a guy on a racing bike passes me like I was standing still. I met him again when he was turned back by a flooded section. The river was moderately high and sounded like it was roaring over the rapids. Very nice ride. I was amazed at how good it felt since I haven't ridden in quite a while.
