You posted this before I posted my winnings. Are you with the Government?
I'm here to help, Don. :ROFLMAO:

No, I'm not with the government. I just had a feeling you were gonna keep on winning...

Now here's a horse, er snake, of a different color. I'm not very fond of slab foundations under houses, but here's a good reason for having one.

4 flats, 3 hours, all done with cordless drill and planting auger.
Boy am I tuckered out...

Don, that downspout needs to be bent to fit back into place.
It's a to do. But the water does go down the pipe just fine, though doesn't look right.

going to go out and suck up some leaves before the rain comes

Buppies and Ellen, may this be your best birthday ever.

I have a set of transmission shims around here someplace too, Bill, but putting my hands on them is a whole 'nuther deal. So I ordered, and received, two more sets, put them in with all the other transmission parts, so the first set should show up any day now. Seems to be the way it's supposed to work now a days. Do you have Harbor Freight in Canada? That's where I got my zerk fitting kit...
We've got Princess Auto, but I ordered my kit off amazon.
They gonna issue you a 1099 for all your winnings, Don? If not, you could be a tax cheat, too! 😄
Don can't be any worse than a former President of yours.

After spending a day and two nights in Pickle Lake, ON last summer I think I know what you are going through on a smaller scale. The smoke was brutal. A couple of majour fires around Kenora, one north of Sioux Lookout and one south west of Savant Lake that was ramping up to be a biggie, I kept the A/C on recirculate all the time I was up there. It was like a breath of fresh air to get back to Thunder Bay, even though we could smell the smoke there too, just not as concentrated.

67°F and 1.61 inches rain. Over 170 inches ytd yet over 60% of the state is under drought conditions. Been 5 weeks since last mowing. Gonna be interesting.

Got a good start laying the laminate yesterday. Hope to finish that today.

Our Pc clinic awaiting official authorization for Moderna booster. Got our names on call list

We have had 30" YTD and we are not under drought conditions only abnormally dry.

I read somewhere today that the CDC has the final say, and that could be coming as soon as next week. It will authorize Moderna booster shots for those 65 and older, and immune compromised individuals 18 and older.

The rain gauge collected only 13.58" over the rain year that just ended here on October 1. That's less than half the normal total, qualifing us for Extreme Drought conditions.

The good news is that the 10-day forecast holds the promise of 4.39" of rain, which will make a heck of a good start on the new rain year!👏👏👏

Misery loves company. There was a week or two this past summer where the indoor filters weren't able to keep up with the smoke and the levels reached the hazardous range. I can't even imagine what it must be like to be on the lines fighting the fires. Most of those people don't wear much more than a hankie over their faces.

This smoke map covers Mexico, the US, and Canada. Wish I'd have known about it earlier in the fire season, but better late than never. It was pretty good for understanding where the smoke was coming from, and where to get out of it.

Spent the morning cutting wood. Brought the 2 tops from the tree across the trail up to the barn, then tried to pull the tree out, but couldn’t. So cut another 8 ft off, then was able to pull the trunk up the bank.
IMG_1922.JPG

Then cut it in half again. Left it down by the creek for now.

Then cut locust tree that was in the brush pile into 4 8 ft sections, brought them up to barn. Did some other clean up with grapple, then cut the wood I brought up into firewood chunks.

Heavy rain will be here soon. Was windy earlier when a little rain went thru. Temperature is dropping, now 68°
