I was pushing some broom, but not enough even to get a two bit room.

Did get oil changed in truck. First time I’ve changed that one myself. Took YouTube to help me find the filter and plug.

Lucky catalyst converter didn’t burn my arm when I bumped it, it was hot.

Need to go and start racking some amps. Feel like a roadie.

66°F and rain this morning, going up to only 75° today. Going to rain here most of the day. We could definitely use some good rain.

If the severe stuff stays away, going to try to record some real strings today, violin/viola/cello/bass. I haven't done that yet with my current studio setup, usually just going the easy route and using string sounds from my Roland synthesizer (which are pretty good, especially mixed with other instruments). Working on a piece that could benefit from real strings, especially cello. So, I'll see how that goes.

We usually just boil our corn, too. I like a little butter sometimes, but good sweet corn needs nothing more than teeth to eat it.

Yes, RNG, we're staying local. We have one solid plan, and that's cave kayaking tomorrow with some friends at a place called Crystal City Underground, just south of St. Louis. Other than that, we'll wing it as the days go by. Weather here is supposed to be excellent, sunny with highs in the 70s and 80s all week.

73F and "partly cloudy" @ 11:30, headed up to a high of 78F. Dunno where the clouds are exactly, seems awfully bright out there to me.

Will finish up mowing on East side Mowing first thing. Need to check fuel in the Cub though, might require a trip down to the corner with the cans for more gas.

After that head over to neighbor's with the Kubota to continue working on her project. She texted me last night and wants me to give her a quote on some additional work to see if she can work it into her budget for this year. Should be a fairly quick/easy job, so I likely will.

Rain due in tonight/tomorrow, so will likely work on getting the lime spread after I get back.

Probably more retaining wall removal if I have the time.

Wng, good to see you fit enough again for the more adventurous trails. How does such a scenic spot come to be called "Old Rag".

I said goodbye to an old friend this week, my Claud Butler "Olympic" bike that I bought second hand way back in 1978. The old bike was always my favourite, even after buying several other much more expensive ones over the years. It was certainly not the lightest, however there was something special about the way the frame had been brazed together out of an economic mix of plain and double butted Reynolds 531 tubing that made even long drags uphill a pleasure when standing up out of the saddle on the pedals. It pre-dated my first dedicated "mountain" bike by a good number of years, never once complaining when in those early days I took it off-roading over moors, nor when I loaded it up with tent, sleeping bag and enough food and cooking gear to last a weekend. The bike had been gathering dust for too long at the back of the tractor shed, with me unwilling to admit to myself that I will not be able to ride again. Finally it seemed silly to just pump up the tires once a year and selfish too when vintage bikes are now being enjoyed by a younger generation, so I put out feelers for who could give it a good home. Now it is back on the road with a new owner in exchange for a pot of strawberry jam.

I've read all these posts about how to cook or prepare ears of corn and I think I've actually done all them myself at one time or another except txdon's chipotle. Can't recall every finding an ear of corn, or a way to fix it, that I didn't like. But being a little lazy, now-a-days I usually just put'em in the microwave, then apply a little butter, tiny dash of salt, and I'm good to go.

I really enjoy the honey and cream type of sweet corn, i will often eat 3-4 ears in one sitting.
I bring a big pot of water to a full rolling boil, set the ears in and when it returns to a boil pull the corn out.
Then butter and salt.
That was the way I was brought up cooking corn and still do to this day.
I have tried the micro wave and just didn't like the results, they weren't bad just not as good I didn't think.

Overslept more than an hour this morning. First time in a long time. A bit surprised the dogs didn’t get me up. Sophie says I must have needed it.

Plan is to jump on the tractor and start new round of flail mowing.

I Mowed the lawns at the farm Wed. but I only had time to finish half of it. I went back yesterday to finish up but the stuff I mowed needed to me mowed again and the other stuff was looong. My SIL owns the farm house and I have been hinting that a little less fertilizer would be a good thing but she likes it green. I got it done but I made a lot of trips to the compost pile. The whole time I was mowing the Pretenders song "don't get me wrong" was going through my head. It is a good thing I like Chrissie Hynde.

About sweet corn. If you can find fresh it is really good. If it is not too old and tough just passing it through the steam is all it needs but I like it crisp and sweet.

At the beginning of the summer I upgraded to a Milwaukee M18 string trimmer. Kind of heavy and it sucks down batteries. I want to see if I can find a string I like better. All my power tools are M18 so I have the batteries. While we were up in Maine I needed a chainsaw. After I priced a Stihl which they couldn't even get even if I wanted to spent the money. I got the M18 16 inch Milwaukee. Works pretty good. I have been thinking about a M18 blower. Anyone have experience with the Milwaukee blower?

I formated my hard drive and installed Linux Mint 19.3
It is FREE and has lots of free games if you like games.

Download Linuxmint 19.3 then burn to disc/usb turn off
computer after you insert disc/usb turn on computer
should ask if you want to install mint along side windows
or format hard drive and install mint the rest is follow the
simply instructions.

with windows you have to get a new number every time
you want to reinstall it! CRAP! With Mint install anytime
you want don't need numbers etc. Its very easy to add programs
you have software manager to install what ever program
that you want! windows is a PITA BIG TIME!

pennwalk can you hook a few batteries together put
in backpack or clip on belt so you can run your toys
longer??? Just make sure + to + and - to - you don't
want to increase the voltage
