I eventually saw that. Was in TN last week, was hot there.

We got another .61" of rain in the middle of the day today. That makes 6.72" and 9 rainy days so far this month.

We had a relatively mild Winter, and an early and dry Spring. Very uncharacteristic. Lately, the tiny bit of rain hasn't even been enough to form puddles. The concern is for Forest Fires this Summer. Of course the forecast says that it will rain all day on my birthday, this Friday. Oh well, the ducks will love that.
currently 18 C / about 65 F
BC is currently divided into 3 restricted travel regions (covid), hopefully that changes soon so that we can see our kids. Today we are permitted to eat inside restaurants, so that is good.

Don, glad to see you got some rain.
It's pretty dry here but some rain is coming tomorrow. I'm still dragging a water hose every couple of days with all the new plants.

I went over and get the hose and the sprinkler out of the pole barn earlier. Found out 18 minutes straight is about the limit with the well currently, before the pressure drops to zero.

The soil in the beds that are mulched seems to still have some moisture ... but I'll bet that the ones that aren't mulched are getting pretty dry ... with the weeds and plants (and trees) sucking the ground dry.

Hopefully we'll get a good rain here tomorrow.

RS, very pretty, that's a lot to mow but sure nice when you are done

Thanks.

Yeah - it's quite a bit.

That cherry pie you made was looking absolutely delicious BTW.

Haven't had a good cherry pie in a long time.

Do you use outside headers or bring them inside on your geo installs? Mine are inside with shutoff valves on all loops, so I can purge with my loop pump.

We only do open loop systems, as long as you have the water, they are much simpler and more efficient.
With inverter drives and electronically controlled expansion devices, air to air heat pumps are getting so efficient that in most climates it’s hard to justify the cost of a closed loop system if you don’t have the water for an open loop.

79F and clear @ 21:00. Heading down to an overnight low of 68F.

Doctor's appointment went well. BP was 110 over 72 which was good. Got the script for tamsulosin refilled and plumbing work much better now ... :giggle: (I had been out for around a week)

Got wood/compost lot mowed after I got back.

Hooked up sprinkler on timer, found out that it cannot run more than 15 minutes or so otherwise there is an issue with the recharge rate on the well. More work to do on sprinkler (works in one direction but does not return in the other)

We took a shot at doing some weeding (in the shade) in early afternoon ... but The Woman was not at all into it.

Came inside and at some point I mentioned that I had eyed a wide-brimmed hat at TSC last time I was down there - to replace the straw hat a friend gave me some years ago which was starting to fall apart.

She asked "Why didn't you just get it ?" and I said that I didn't want to spend the money ($15) ... at which point she just laughed and said "C'mon ... let's go ... I wanna have some fun ..."

So we ran down to Massillon and hit Menards and grabbed a bunch of annual flowers she wanted for her pots and then swung by TSC and grabbed the hat. After that we headed over to another local greenhouse (annuals only) and picked up more flowers, some herbs for a little herb garden, and a few vegetable plants - couple of tomato plants, squash, cucumbers, and some peppers:

After we got home and unloaded the cargo, we headed back out - this time for Eadies Fish House for a real sit-down dinner being served ... first time we have been out to eat at a restaurant maybe since before COVID. Was quite enjoyable.

One additional piece of info for RNG, although he may have his problem largely solved at this point. The plant with the green and white variegated leaves above is Plectranthus coleoides aka Swedish Ivy.

Supposedly, it's a natural deer (and rabbit) repellent - they don't like its lemony fragrance.

Maybe place one in a pot on the patio ?

My truck got 12.7 mpg this week, ouch.
OUCH...

scaredychicken Welcome back.

Ditto.

Welcome mwemaxx.

News of the day for our family....We went to our son's school award ceremony this morning. I took off work. There were at least 50-75 kids being awarded different awards for best reader, most improved reader, etc... I was starting to wonder which little award my son might have won??? I told my wife he probably won the award for the kid who eats the most crackers at lunch.....Well, he got called up with about 20 kids for getting all A's. So I was somewhat relieved. Then at the end, they gave the highest award, for being exemplary in ALL the other awards given....And they called a girl's name, and then my son's name. They get their names on a plaque that gets permanently put in the school, and they got a stuffed mascot and a trophy. He was so happy. We took him to his favorite pizza place, he got an orange soda and a huge ice cream cone in an old fashioned waffle cone. I told him he made me so proud.

Still looking for car. Still frustrated at the gecko lizard insurance company. Thanks for looking Don. Some of those modular V8's ford made back then weren't very good engines....not sure which year models.

RNG, sorry about your oil loss. $200 is a lot to keep the dust down in a relatively small area. Hope it's a simple hose issue. What is a chevy clown car? I already had the Clark Griswold mobile.....

Rick, you've been in the path of mucha lluvia. We've had plenty, but some places have rec'd half again more than us.

After spraying my Cimarron Plus/MSMA concoction last week, most of the weeds are dying. I see a few dallis grass that still need spot spraying. The bermuda is taking off and we can't mow because of all the rain. Ground is so soft.

Ron, hadn't considered a Captiva. I really haven't seen many of them in my life. Might have to open eyes wider.

Refueled my old '03 impala, after a lot of idling, it still pulled off 25.5 mpg! I'm surprised. Maybe I'll change the oil and be nice to it. :)

Prayers for those on our team in need and our country.

So many good people here.

Congrats on your son!!

Someone in another thread just made a derogatory comment about the good people in this tread. Not the usual suspects.

Mostly, went to a rib crib once in AR and thought they had about the worse ribs I ever had. Yours must be better.

Worked from home 10 hrs, then grilled chicken for supper, then mowed all but over the hill. Got too dark to finish. Grass was real tall again.
Wife picked up corn on the cob from store, she liked it, I didn’t.
