Good Morning
55 heading to the high 70’s with clear skies today.

Yesterday was another wonderful day to work outside, of course I spent a lot of it inside in the shop. The rest of the mulch in the dump trailer did get spread, I’ll go for another load today. I’ve got a lot of inside work to do today as well. Lodge meeting was held outside, mostly because it was such a nice evening.

I will try to be as productive as possible inside today, but I think that I will succumb to the call of the nice weather at some point and head outdoors.

I had a Land Cruiser FJ40 in 1972, it was a great vehicle, I wish I still had it. It made a Jeep CJ look like a toy. Definitely function over form, no creature comforts other than heat, no carpets or padding other than the top of the dashboard. But it was unstoppable.

Morning.

Another day of rain. Then - decent weather the rest of the week.

With the rain, it’ll be a slow day. I’ll go to my wife’s tennis match from 9:30-11:30 then I’m guessing we will have lunch.

She will go to work and I’ll find some stuff to putter around with inside. We moved to this place a little under a year ago and we still have some boxes unpacked. They are unmarked so it’ll kind of be like Christmas seeing what is inside!

I doubt it’s anything too exciting as we aren’t missing anything.

Be safe.

Morning all, sunny and nice today.
Took the machete to the poison ivy vine. Sunday this one was a surprise while weed wacking.
Machete to the vine and take a chunk out, then wash the blade and let dry.

Took the fs110 brushcutter out with the scratch blade, that works better than the chisel blade.
Took out brush from tiny to 3" stems not problem. Worked on trails I had started in the winter. hundreds of feet, I am tired today!

had a pair or orioles show up, keep attacking themselves on the rear sliding doors.

M18 trimmer used for another 30 minutes-works better since I rewound string. Pole saw head does leak.

Ron - great duck pictures and glad the AC is alive and well
Buppies- bears are now dependents :)
RNG - just take the tape from another tape measure. I still have my original sears one from 30 years ago.

Stay safe and be well.

:) Have feeling if this should go to court you'll lose. ;)
Particularly if it's the Court Of Might Has Right
Mr/Mrs Bear will win...

still nothing on Honda, I complained to salesman someone was posting on the Honda Ridgeline site pics of his new truck, identical model and color as mine,
that he ordered three weeks ago. I asked the sales guy to explain that but he is conveniently out of town.
Since they are able to sell these trucks at list price all day long, assuming they had them, maybe they are sandbagging me because of the
negotiated discount. Thankfully I'm in no rush. Meeting with sales guy tomorrow, hopefully a better response than
Colonel Klink's I Know Nothing

No show by landscapers, but I'm tracking my tomato plants on UPS's truck tracker.
I'm off to go put down some tomato fertilizer and change out the hummingbird feeder.

Good morning! 65˚F heading to the 80s, dark clouds, 80% chance of rain. FireWise has been called off.

Yesterday started off bad when the dentist got the pliers to pull off the temporary crown, but ended up ok after winning 4out of 5 games of hand and foot and the new crown feels normal.

On and off rain for the last 4 days and for the rest of the week. we are at 1.2" total for this week long event.

After it dries next week, I'll start digging potatoes. I'll see which of the 4 varieties of potatoes planted did best in this alkaline soil that I have no experience in gardening.

Randy your Texas white rock gardens look familiar. Most beds in the neighborhood, including mine, are laid out the same with a rock boarder, landscape fabric and rocks. The rock beds in my yard are small black rocks in two and and river rocks in 3 beds. The white rocks you have are used a lot for road base around here, but they are not as pretty and washed white as yours are. There is a large backhoe bucket that crushes the larger rocks small right in the bucket to use on the coarse rock base.

RS, I saw a U-Tube on a cart like you have and how it shifts from forward to reverse by turning the engine off moving the points and then re-starting and running the engine in reverse. -All with one lever motion.

That was a common technique also used on outboard motors. I used to pop start my Montessa trials bike backwards, and then offer it to a friend to ride, and laugh like a fool when they let the clutch out and fell almost instantly.

64 right now...high in the mid-70's...

Rough night last night. We'd taken Bella to the vet's because she couldn't walk...rear legs, so I'm think hip dysplasia.
Stepdaughter and a friend carried Bella to the car and the vet's crew carried her in on a stretcher.
Many tests and a few x-rays...pretty much non-conclusive. There is a spot on her abdomen, but the vet couldn't tell us if it was malignant.
So, next step (today, I hope) is an ultrasound..
What made the night rough is I heard Bella whimpering in the living room (where her doggie bed is). I ended up lying there (on a couple sofa cushions comforting her. Both my wife and stepdaughter were up various times in the night and wifey finally got a pain pill down Bella's throat. You folks with dogs know how difficult getting a dog to swallow a pill can be...
So, went to work to get my laptop (100 mile round trip)...already did one meeting this morning. Got a couple more later today...but if the vet calls, that'll be the priority.
Anyway, I feel OK now, but that lack of sleep will hit sooner or later today.

If time permits, I may do a forced regen on the Deere. The dealer thinks that's why I'm getting the "Increase Engine Speed to 1500R PM message

Like txdon, on and off rain around here, BUT I've gotten almost exactly twice as much rain as he has; 1.23" on the 16th, .35" on the 17th, and .25" after midnight last night with more on the way. House cleaning, laundry, and showers is about all we have planned for today.

Sorry about Bella Roy, hope for the best outcome.

I'm at the doctor, getting my situation documented. I told nurse my shoulder/elbow/wrist pain was at a 2 or 3. Hope it goes away. I feel like my upper body has a continuous buzz or hum. My memory is bad right now. Having to write things down.

Thanks for the prayers and advice. Eric, yes. Thankful to be upright. Car is at body shop... waiting for estimate.

Bupps, I wish the general public would be a bear at getting taxed.

Prayers for our team and nation.

These last two beds I did have a mix of 1/2” and 3/4” because they didn’t have enough of either to get four tons. I didn’t care, you can’t tell the difference walking past them and our other two gardens. I like the Texas Whitestone because of the brightness and it matches well with the clam shell driveway.

best wishes for Bella Roy.

veggie plants showed up, nicely boxed in plastic clamshells and I got the six tomatoes and three sweet pepper plants planted.
That gives me ten tomatoes in all, plenty for me.
Put down some Espoma fertilizer, watered it all and now just going to watch it grow.

Took the machete to the poison ivy vine. Sunday this one was a surprise while weed wacking.

I try to cut with loppers if vine is small enough, or pole saw very extended. I’ve used axe before, but sometimes when you cut the vine it squirts sap, don’t know if you can catch the poison from that. Poison ivy is real bad on the treeline next to the road on my one side.

43 this morning, but that looks like the last of the real cool mornings until fall. 78 later and mostly 80’s and 90’s for the next couple of weeks.

We reinforced a shelf this morning, in the pantry, that wanted to sag a bit. Changed out and washed the litter boxes. If Ellen takes off another week I’m going to need a vacation.

Friends coming for dinner tonight, some special meatloaf recipe, I have to make my Mac and cheese.

Went to Mission BBQ last night, not as good as my first experience. Pulled chicken was dry, beans were good.

Not sure what else is on the list, but I might hide the list.

Have a good day folks.

Thanks BEF, these vines are about 1" with some smaller offshoots. Seem to embed themsleves into the bark so can't get loppers around them. But machete works great and is long enough I don't get too close.
When I hit it with the weed wacker, that was just not seeing the vine was there and first set of leaves was around the far side a few feet up. Still see the marks on my face, but the technu spray seems to be working to stop me from being a mess.

Roy, hope this issue with Bella is short term and the pain pills work.

Today will clean out the pool area with the blower, supposed to be opened tomorrow.

L4N, put a little used antifreeze in your pressure washer pump before you store it.

I use this on our three pressure washers here;
