Good evening!

Today was one of those days taking tech calls.......

1 was a guy bought a used machine, paid for it, and wanted me to check our database to see if it was stolen

3 were about older models, and when I asked for the serial number....got told that it didn’t matter, they were all the same. The callers also had not performed any troubleshooting and simply wanted to know what part most likely failed so they could order a replacement.

I was in one of those moods....so all 3 got the most expensive and hardest to replace part as most likely.

And last but not least, older machine with a transmission leak, the caller said the required oil was too expensive and had read on the internet straight 30W with an additive was the same. I asked him why they just didn’t fix the leak....they don’t have time. Told him I had no idea about the oil he wanted to use, but we would be glad to sell him new parts if it didn’t work. He hung up on me. :ROFLMAO:

You can’t make this stuff up.

29 right now...high about 60(!!!!)
Ordered a set of OEM wheels for my Tacoma. These are for the 3 season tires so I don't have to have the snow tires removed from the wheels on the truck. Won't be long before I have to swap the snow tires for the 3 season tires. The 3 season tires are stashed in an outbuilding about 75-80 yards from the house. Hope I can get them out considering we still have plenty of snow on the lawn... Sure don't want to get the truck stuck! My plan is to use the snow blower to beat a path (this weekend)

Poured first cup of coffee. 57° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 61° with good chance of rain in afternoon. More high wind warning in forecast. Got Mule back together. Took for a ride on local side road. Runs good. Still need to make rear windshield and install it. Going to be a conserve energy day.

Buckeye, high here yesterday was 69.2°. But wind was up around 30 mph.

Roy, hope some warm weather will melt some of that snow. I still have piles that will take awhile to melt.

Rich, that technical excellence demishes on bad work days. Retirement is very enjoyable.

jcmaurice6, welcome to Good Morning Thread.

Randy, hope they get papers.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

Good Morning
It’s 42 and heading to 70 with mostly clear skies again.
Yesterday, I pulled out all the snow markers from the lane. Just saw that Monday has snow forecast. My wife told me not to pull them!
But it was so nice out that I had to do something productive outside.

Yesterday was a beautiful day here, but the ground is still too wet to do anything. My wife descended that we needed a new mattress, so we went out and made her happy. I was shocked that I could just about buy a grapple for the same amount of money, but that’s what she wanted.

When we got back, I pulled the tractor out and pressure washed the road salt off from driving to my sons and neighbors while plowing over the winter. I figured that while I was at, I might as well fill a bucket with water and car wash and wash it with a long handled brush. It worked so well, that I washed the cars as well, drying everything with a hand held leaf blower as a lazy mans chamois. I was surprised how well the blower worked. Finished the afternoon with some quality time with the upright bass.

Today I’m off to Stuart, FL. Hopefully I can do something productive when I get back.

55 and mostly clear, going to 78. Ron and Mostly, I think your wind is getting here today...Red Flag warnings posted...ground is still damp but grasses and leaves are now very dry with no rain for 10 days.

Yesterday took a very pleasant hike up in the mountains to one of the smaller waterfalls, and a cave. I'm always amazed and thankful of the work the CCC did on these trails. To get to this waterfall, they built stone steps straight down a 200 foot canyon. Still many patches of snow, but the trail was dry. Must have been an inversion, the temperature up on the mountain was 15 degrees warmer than down in the flatlands. Walked through several mountain laurel groves.

When I got home, decided to change the oil in the generator and put it back in storage...positive thinking, although I could use one more good snow.

Tried to upload a photo, but was too large a file.

Happy 311 Day.

good morning all.
Warmest day of the year so far today, going up to 72 and then some light rain comes in.

Popgadget, fly safely. I looked at my driveway markers yesterday and almost pulled them out also, but decided one more week

Owl house goes to UPS today, then I'm off to do food shopping, and then home to work on new computer.

Ted, this looks like a fun event and ride for you:

the next weather system that comes across is going to dump multiple feet of snow in Colorado and be very stormy through
center of country (PJ drive carefully) and then just miss me by going North before it gets here and remaining rain here. Fine with me...
But for today, sheer perfection.

Good morning all

37 now highs in the upper 60’s and mostly sunny with light winds today.

It’s been a beautiful sunny couple of days. We’ve just been spending time driving around watching spring arrive and enjoying the suns warmth. The yard is ankle deep in mud where the snow is gone, once the frost breaks it dries up pretty quick.
Plans for today just enjoy the warmth while it lasts.

Stay safe and healthy
Enjoy your day everyone

Outside chores done E muffin time.
Lone raccoon let it be known last evening it was hungry.

Plans for today...town for critter food, couple little things like done before frost comes out of the ground, see what rest of day brings.

National Worship of Tools Day

Good Morning!!!! 36F @ 4:15AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High near 60F. Winds NW at 5 to 10 mph.
Quite the weather day here yesterday. We got almost 3/4" of rain, a pretty much steady drizzle until just before sunset. Just up the canyon, though, there was about 6" of snow, enough to make the road quite slick and send one woman's car careening into the river. She got out OK, but the troopers closed the highway for most of the day. The system blanketed most of the state with cold rain, and as Drew mentioned, it'll bring more rain and snow to the rest of the nation as it makes its way east. A Pineapple Express would bring some welcome relief right about now (hint, hint).

Very domestic day inside, even made a big pot of spaghetti and meatballs. 👍

Nice not to have to get off the side-by-side to open the gate to get the mail; the latch seems to be working fine now.

Yesterday our county dropped back to the red CV-19 tier, so more businesses will be open, but still with very low capacities. North of here, one of the Indian reservations is giving away free vaccine shots to all comers. All their appointments "sold" out in two hours.

I'll be out cutting up steel for more pallet hoops; gonna try to get through two of 'em today.

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!

Good morning! Balmy morning, 68˚F heading to the 80s cloudy, windy.

I tried to mow with Mom's craftsman riding mower yesterday and it did something strange.

It started with the clutch in, blade disengaged, gear in neutral, but when I let out the clutch (still in neutral and blade disengaged). it would die out every time. Any clues where to starting looking for the problem?

Then when I got home the garbage disposal was not working - just a hum. My wife found a you-tube of how to fix it, turning it with an Allen wrench at the bottom of the disposal.. It worked! 50% on the repair rate yesterday.

Texas will open up the covid vaccinations to 1-C starting Monday. They just redefined 1-C and not in accordance with the CDC - of course, Texas knows better. Since the virus does not care what occupation you are in to kill you, but your age has been determined to be a factor, the Texas 1-C is defined as anyone over the age of 50. This is going against the National recommendations that essential workers be given the vaccination next.

Kyle my T-mobile phone did not have as strong of a signal in Lee county. It kept a signal 90% of the time on the road but just with 1-2 bars. AT&T still has a better signal in your county. At Mom's I had 2 bars same as here, which is one less than AT&T there, but here it is one more bar than AT&T.

mornin,
been warm, went for a hike with dog yesterday.
This morning the doe is back, dog and her watch each other from about 10' and doe slowly walks away.
Since I talk gently, dog doesn't go too crazy and scare her.

Still in dog house, not been a good week

Stay safe , fly straight and be well.

If it's been sitting for a while, especially if the humidity has been high, there's a chance the clutch plates are stuck together. To free them, somehow you've got to find a way to transfer power across the plates with the clutch disengaged. That might be to get it in gear with the engine off, then try to roll it with the clutch disengaged. If there's a hill nearby you could send it down, that would help.

Good morning, 47°F and going to 46. Wind SSW 15 mph. Showers.

Last nights supper was beef vin da loo. It wasn't all that hot, but it sure cleared my sinuses. One of the new kittens (6 months old) got nosy and wanted some. I left some of the sauce on the back of my fork, he got his nose within 2" of it and immediately backed away. I got the old stink eye for that one, but what the hey, they gotta learn sometime and it might as well be now.
they get a sample of whatever I eat EXCEPT for chocolate and grapes including raisins.

A dump run is in the cards for today and maybe wash and wax the tractor. Don't hold your breath though.

Have a safe day all
