RNG, Sodamo, you both show how incredibly expensive the capital costs are for a regular home when there is no reliable grid supply.

We only have solar panels for making hot water, all electric comes from the grid.
Our total electric consumption for the last year was 6,219 kWHr, which cost us 893 pounds (about $1,250).

How does that compare with others ?

Eric, you seem to be doing well. Our actual use last year:
Total for property = 8558.0 kwh
House = 7106.4 kwh
Cottage = 1451.6kwh

RNG, yup, you need to get that FNDC battery monitor up and running and exercise those expensive batteries. You could comfortably set your generator/grid to kick in without worry. Did you ever get your Trimetric?

I was an Air Traffic Controller in the army in Vietnam - 210th CAB. Our flight detachment had U21 /King Airs. Definitely a luxury ride compared to Hueys which I got to enjoy a couple times.

Drew, you make me smile with your debt free comment. Next month we will payoff the Ridgeline - again being debt free, but again how long

Trip to Costco turned into a 4 figure outing, more than anticipated.

I did get 3 new batteries, even remembering to bring old cores fore exchange. Now have batteries for my diesel generator and the Craftsman mower with broken frame.

Guess it had been awhile since buying Forever stamps - almost $55.

Other big purchase, a Toto Washlet.

Yes. Then I misplaced it. Found it again, and I'll swing by an electrical supply house later today to pick up a short length of 1/0 cable so I can get it hooked up. I'm more than a little nervous about working inside that battery cabinet, though...

Coffee is done brewing. 23° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 39° with mix of sun and clouds. Feels good to have my hair cut. Do not need to keep pushing it out of my eyes. Did laundry after I got home. Need to fold and put away and take Sassy to groomer today. No other plans.
Up way to early today. May be the almost full moon.

David, took me awhile to use my Bidet. Like the warm seat, water and dryer. Still have same roll of TP on holder for a month. I feel guilty that it should be changed. :confused2:

Drew, I have been loan free for about 6 years. Good feeling. I need to figure out how to pay my 3 credit cards automatically. Then I would not have any bills to pay each month.

LS, hope you get loan people under control. Getting staples and other stuff off should help recovery a lot.

Buckeye, my current rate is $.09. It's all the add ons that raise the bill.

Buppies, prayers for a quick recovery from latest treatments.

Everyone stay healthy and safe.

Good Morning All.

good morning all.
Cool moon pic Ron. Tonight should be even better.

39 out now, going up to 46, nice sunny day.

there were a lot of different Toto Washlet models, from fairly inexpensive to very expensive.
You seem to pay more as you get more functions, like the seat warmer.
