Good morning to all! No snow last night.... up to 36 this morning so far, supposed to hit 45. Low was down into the teens.

Kyle, I hope you, wifey, and the family get past the illness quickly and without any major issues.

Hopefully the major power issues are becoming resolved. The brief news clips we see are only a drop in the bucket of damage an problems....

Another bad night's sleep, wifey went out on the couch due to my "flopping like a fish" in bed, trying to get comfortable. Gonna try to take a med before bed only, none throughout the day.... just gotta do a trial and error to see what works....

After a few calls yesterday, and a little prodding, I was affirmed that the PT referrals would get done..... got a call this morning from the PT facility, confirming the referral. Now they need "approval", so I am expecting a call back to get scheduled....

So, all that taken care of, this morning start getting a bunch of emails from people that I haven't talked to in years.... apparently my Facebook account was hacked..... spent a while this morning trying to get that taken care of.....

Everyone have a great day! It's Friday!

One concern of limiting the public to one vaccine dose is that the immunity is not as complete and does not last as long...which leads to variants of the virus.

It makes me recall the instructions when an antibiotic is prescribed...to finish the entire prescription, even if you feel well, since the illness can return, even stronger, if not completely killed.

I’m not say limit them to a single dose, I’m saying delay the second dose. They now know that the second dose of the RNA vaccines can be delayed for up to 90 days without losing immunity from the first dose. If a significant portion of the population got one dose this virus would be very difficult to spread. There is only a 2-3% difference in efficacy between one dose and two. Idk rather have both in the midst of the pandemic, but I’d rather see the pandemic end faster.

I remember standing in line with my mother as a child for the polio vaccine. It came in a tiny paper cup, and I drank it. And I only got one dose...

Yep, I got mine in a sugar cube, and that was a single dose, but I’d already had shots in the late 50’s-early 60’s. The new one was in place of what would have been another booster shot. That particular oral version was fairly new and considered better than earlier vaccine. They now have several newer versions.

We had sugar cubes single dose. Check out the tube at the bottom. Eric will like this source.

I got the notification today. My second shot has again been delayed a week. They have not received the weekly allotment due to shipping problems.

Good evening. Had a day of feeling cold and tired which is likely a minor inconvenience from vaccination. My wife has been ok so far apart from a slight arm ache and I am fine now.

Don, I could have been one of the kids in that video :)

An early second vaccine shot is not an option in the UK. The really clever people who devote their entire lives to understanding how vaccines work made that call for our entire National Health Service some time ago. There have been quite a far interviews with these experts and strangely, when they talked about the science behind how they arrived at that strategy and how they constantly review it, not a single one of them seemed to be basing their decisions on what is speculated on a tractor forum.

Mostly, quite an excess current to take out the PCB track. It looks easy to solder over, only concern is not knowing if that is the primary cause of failure , or is it merely a symptom, in which case there will be no thin track next time to act as an inadvertent safety fuse if another fault is still present. Fingers crossed it will be ok, just keep looking/sniffing for smoke in case ...

I got the sugar cube, too, in line in the school parking lot...but pretty sure I had to go back 3 weeks later for a second cube. :)

Actually, we got one sugar cube and one prick in the arm with something that shot the vaccine in...looked like a pistol.

Interesting that these new deadly viruses seem to start from animals in other countries and jump to humans.

I dunno ... many viruses have an animal origin originally and then eventually evolve became zoonotic, poliovirus perhaps being an exception. This kinda thing has been going on for a long, long time.

Take measles for example: originally evolved from rinderpest virus (RPV) into a precursor virus to measles back around 4th century BC or AD 500. RPV is closely related to measles and canine distemper.

Smallpox virus is believed to have evolved from a a terrestrial African rodent virus between 68,000 and 16,000 years ago.

Orthohantavirus, ebolavirus, marburgvirus, etc. Probably too many to name. And it isn't only viruses (bacteria and parasites as well)

Not exactly sure what you see the significance of the "other countries" aspect as being ... :confused3:

My guess is, making the jump to being zoonotic (animal ---> human) can probably occur just about anywhere there is life ... because life is opportunistic and that is just what life does:

... take advantage of things in the environment to continue to survive ...
