My dad (89) and step mom (86), weæ±*e able to get a reservation for the vaccine. No date yet
I also stayed up too late watching my Crimson Tide roll. I’m a lifelong Alabama fan and I’ve seen some dominate teams, this one might be the best yet.
Where’s the Unlike button????
Lol, I went to bed early.
Good morning. Clouds starting to move away after a night of heavy rain. Sheep are having a real treat today as my wife agreed to them grazing part of the garden. Most of them are still in the field, waiting to see if anything bad happens to the advance party, wary that this is just too good to be true.
My outhouse memories are not at all rural, I was brought up in a large city. The houses where my grandparents lived each had outside toilets, all in a long row. Theirs was somewhere around the middle of the row and had a green door, which didn't help much in finding the right one at night - or even day, as the same tin of paint must have been used on them all. In winter a Kelly lamp with a flame the size of a small birthday candle provided just enough heat to stop the pipes freezing. Toilet seat was a composite material with the same thermal conductivity as a slab of granite, the trick was to spread a layer of toilet paper on top before taking a seat for as short a period as possible. Seems a long time since toilet paper was in such plentiful supply.![]()
26-48 today, bright sun.
Ron, we use to put lime in our outhouse pit.
Rick, I have to do my deck furniture too. I’m going to order Sunbrella as soon as Ellen picks out what “we” like. I’m replacing all the flow through foam as well. My furniture is older Better Homes and Garden stuff, finish is still OK but I want to change colors so I’m looking for a local shop to powder coat everything but the twin seat glider, I think I’m going to dump it.
On the vaccine front, I’m not sure what this morning’s Surgeon General announcement of releasing the vaccine for 1b will do.
There’s a T-38 trainer out here flying laps and doing take offs and landings, as well as touch and goes. Noisy when they kick in the after burners for a few seconds. Good looking planes, remind me of the F-104. They’ve been in service for sixty years.
An older lady brought me a little upholstered stool, the frame is falling apart but she likes it. I told her I’d glue it, pad it and upholster it, all for a lemon meringue pie. She doesn’t have much money but she’s a heck of a baker.
Everybody stay safe.

So here’s the Eastwood press brake and my modification.

As it came from Eastwood, it wouldn’t sit flat and had to go between the plates on the press.

So I drilled the rods and tapped them and countersunk the holes to use flat head bolts. Now it sits flat.

I have no idea what they were thinking when they made it.
