Good morning, the temperature is 28°F and going to a high of 32. Wind SSW 11 gusting to 17 mph. 40% chance of flurries. Freezing drizzle warning in effect.

If the freezing drizzle amounts to anything, I have lots of ashes.

Premier Ford (like your Governors) announced a stay at home order for all of Ontario, yesterday. Can only go out for essentials. I guess the rewire of my trailer light plug can wait. My arthritic hands don't allow me to fiddle with wiring on the trailer plug in the cold, so I will run around with no left turn signal on it. Someone following can see the signal lights on the Jeep when the trailer is on anyway.

mostly_gas, they used horses right up until one of the brothers died, that would be around 1970. Then they stopped farming. He was in his 70s. Without giving the family tree away, my Grandfather had two brothers. My GF gave up his rights to the farm when he went to school of pharmacy (the farm paid his tuition). The other two stayed and ran the farm and showed sheep at the Royal Winter fair and other fall fairs. The two farm brothers had three girls between them. All three became teachers. The first one died 6 years ago. The oldest one died 2 years ago and there is one still in a nursing home. The farm went to one of my cousins whose property abuts onto theirs. He is the cousin with the machinery.
The oldest cousin asked me about the farm when her sister died and I told her then that I thought it should go to the one with the machinery.

Today is an energy conservation day, I may get a nap in as well.

Stay safe all

Good morning. We are back with all day rain today, quite a contrast from yesterday when the sun came out for 3 or 4 hours. At this time of year there is not much chance to make enough Vitamin D from sunlight, my wife takes a tiny white pill to boost her levels. Do you take winter vitamin supplements ? After being spoon fed cod liver oil as a child, I still don't mind sucking on an occasional cod liver oil capsule, or better still, a tin of sardines.

Randy, home made lemon meringue pie :licking: Get upholstering !

Did 1 layer of TP make that much difference?
Yes, no chance of freezing to the seat :)

The Izal TP was made locally, it was brutally hard, glossy, non-absorbent stuff, far easier to imagine being used as a spacecraft heatshield than it's intended purpose. L4N, maybe your DIL will remember Izal ? This gives a good idea what it was like The Other Side of Sixty: Leather Arse - or how I survived Izal toilet tissue.

26 going to 53. A million stars out, but no skunks. :)

Cut some firewood yesterday, so need to split some today. Been so long since the tractor was out in the woods, I think I actually saw a smile on its face. Found an old stump hole near a dead oak I was cutting down, and looked into it...was filled with water up to about 8 inches below ground. Ground is definitely saturated.

Eric, I started taking D3, zinc, and tart cherry pills after reading some of the posts here, and due to my wife's loving encouragement. I drink enough Vitamin Water to get most of the other vitamins in liquid form, and eat a wide variety of foods including lots of carrots, etc.

26 outside this AM, heading to 52. I WILL prime the porch this afternoon. LOL.

Spent most of the day with the Chevy dealer yesterday. I still have a major headache. My wallet is fine. The wife has a new vehicle and I lost track of how many times she said she is pleased on the way home. So that made it all worthwhile. We were down to one everyday vehicle and that one has over 260k on it with all sorts of weird things going on. LOL.

Now we can double down on getting the drain field done, and move some more horses around before spring time.

Eric, funny you should mention Vitamin D. With Covid I guess my inside/outside patterns changes so I do a supplement every day. Other than that, nothing else. I have not had a tin of fish in decades. With saltine crackers, yummy.

Hope all have a great day today. Be safe, and stay healthy my friends.

Coffee is done brewing. 30° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 42° with cloudy skies. Shop projects are on back burner for a couple of days. New furnace is installed and purring along. Little better High Efficiency than old one. Need to clean area surrounding furnace. Had to remove shelves and other stuff to get at furnace. Some things on those shelves have been there for 20 years. No other plans for the day.
Frist time I have had deer at feeders during daylight since hunting started in November.

RNG, Wow! On insurance cost. My insurance for $425k is $569 per year. I do not need that much insurance. But to get insurance on 3 out buildings was cheaper to increase insurance on house than put a separate line item on each building.

Popgadget, my Eastwood Brake works like Ricks. Looks like he has same HF press as I do.

Rick, my grandparents had those same well pumps as your pictures. They lived next door to us when I was a kid.

Looking, our governor says she may let restaurants open to inside eating February 1. Most other things are open with limits on number of occupants. Must wear mask.

Eric, great photo.

David, sounds like you are make progress every day.

Rich, no restriction on Conserve Energy Days.

Thomas, GS that helped me with toilet install last week. Is not afraid to get dirt under his nails. Going to make a lot of money from those that cannot doing anything but operate a touch screen. He is going to collage paid for by his employer.

Riptides, Make sure you do not take to much Vitamin D. My Dr did a test when I told him I had increased my dose. Numbers came back in the middle of what is acceptable. I am at 3000ui per day.

Buppies, now that furnace is working. I can just look out window and watch is change. Thanks.

Wngsprd, hope your splitter starts without problems.

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.
