Living room outlets/kitchen lights anomaly determined to be ceiling fan in living room: only time there is a problem is when the ceiling fan is on.

Switch on that was replaced a couple of years ago ... so will need to scope that out, make sure it is of sufficient rating.

The fan is a Hunter I believe ... probably 50 years old or better at this point.

now that sounds like a yummy cup of coffee Bill. Warm your innards for sure.

wondering what first light will show on the bird feeding table. Yesterday that poor feeder was
thoroughly cleaned out, deer prints everywhere. Day before feeder was off the top entirely and wedged on table legs below.
So far the hinges have held strong but not designed for torture testing. So....need to mount the feeder on a heavy long board and put that on top
of the picnic table. Determined deer and squirrels means I am likely to get cleaned out often.

So far I've gotten about a dozen birds at one feeding outside, all small birds with one male cardinal.
My challenge for taking pictures are the screens on all the house windows, that don't remove easily, I've tried.
By the time I've walked around back to take their pictures, the birds have spooked.
Big difference from NC, but then farm home had about a hundred feet of porches front and back, always a way to sneak up on birds.

I have two bags of feed, one all black sunflower seed and the other a much cheaper mixture. Basically I add more sunflower seed to the cheaper mixture
and that helps the dollars go further. When deer come to call, it's like they lick it clean. They leave nothing, after all I put out this food
for them, right? In the wisdom of a deer, which is pretty much an oxymoron, no deer sign saying don't eat so why not.
And now they are pooping in my lawn and probably leaving cold weather ticks for me.
Food is fine, just leave my tulips alone.
No one eats the tulips here, got that buddy?

Before you know it amount deer feeding now might double our even triple...more hoof marks when the ground soften, lot #2 clean up,young being born near by.

My half Polish mother made potato pancakes I just loved. Mine don’t seem to hit the mark ☹️

Not enough deer here to be a problem but the wallabies know how to knock over our bird feeders to get the grain. They come every evening..

I would never feed deer here. They already make a huge mess and eat most of what I plant if I don't fence it off.
We do have one doe who lives on our property and i see all the time, luckily the hunters on either side of me haven't got her, would miss seeing her almost every day.
She spent a lot of time sleeping under our back stairs when she was younger, still holes up there sometimes.

There were 6 of them out by the feeders just a little bit ago, including a larger buck (6 - 8 point ... or better) and a spike or 4 point buck (was getting dark, hard to see)

Of course, they cleaned the deer feeder out last night (2 gallons of corn in it, in less than 24 hours) ... but the neighbors put out some old pumpkins the other day, so they sauntered over there and started working on those.

If I really wanted to feed them, I imagine I could easily go through 100 lbs of corn per week ... considering that there a dozen of them out there the other day.

Not sure that much corn would be good for them though.

Also not sure that those dozen are all of them either.

I know that they can and do eat a lot of corn while it is growing.
Over on the farm many of the fields are bordered by woods,
we lose at least 50%-80% of the corn in the outside 10-20 rows to the dam*ned deer.

And on top of that they have learned to burrow down in the snow to graze on the rye planted as a cover crop,
just the other day I saw a good sized one down on its front legs with it's head buried in the snow eating the rye.

Most places say not to feed deer corn but if you look closer the deer can tolerate the corn if it is fed slowly over a period of time.
Don'''t Feed the Deer: How Corn Can Be a Killer | Field & Stream

Yup ... had read a similar take on another site.

It’s why I haven’t been filling the feeder all the way up but just putting out 2 gallons (or less) at a time ... and not filling it everyday.

Probably should check with the local feed store and see what they have available that I can supplement it with.

Need to pick up a salt/mineral block as well.

Deer like pumpkins and they are good for them. Are any still around after Halloween?
