now that sounds like a yummy cup of coffee Bill. Warm your innards for sure.
wondering what first light will show on the bird feeding table. Yesterday that poor feeder was
thoroughly cleaned out, deer prints everywhere. Day before feeder was off the top entirely and wedged on table legs below.
So far the hinges have held strong but not designed for torture testing. So....need to mount the feeder on a heavy long board and put that on top
of the picnic table. Determined deer and squirrels means I am likely to get cleaned out often.
So far I've gotten about a dozen birds at one feeding outside, all small birds with one male cardinal.
My challenge for taking pictures are the screens on all the house windows, that don't remove easily, I've tried.
By the time I've walked around back to take their pictures, the birds have spooked.
Big difference from NC, but then farm home had about a hundred feet of porches front and back, always a way to sneak up on birds.
I have two bags of feed, one all black sunflower seed and the other a much cheaper mixture. Basically I add more sunflower seed to the cheaper mixture
and that helps the dollars go further. When deer come to call, it's like they lick it clean. They leave nothing, after all I put out this food
for them, right? In the wisdom of a deer, which is pretty much an oxymoron, no deer sign saying don't eat so why not.
And now they are pooping in my lawn and probably leaving cold weather ticks for me.
Food is fine, just leave my tulips alone.
No one eats the tulips here, got that buddy?
