Special weather statement in effect for:
North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa
West Nipissing - French River
Snow this morning, followed by rain tonight and then potentially significant snowfall Christmas Day.
A band of snow will move across the areas this morning. After this initial band of snow, relatively dry conditions can be expected through the rest of the day. Rain is forecast to begin tonight ahead of an approaching low pressure system. This rain will then transition to light snow Thursday afternoon or Thursday evening. A few centimetres (inches) of snowfall accumulation will be possible by Christmas morning.
Then Christmas Day, a new low pressure system is forecast to track northward towards the area, spreading heavy snow ahead of it. Snowfall accumulations in the 5 to 15 cm (2-6") range will be possible, before a potential transition to ice pellets or freezing rain. Several hours of ice pellets or freezing rain may occur before the precipitation gradually tapers off Friday night.
Snowfall Warnings may be required at a later time.
We got about 4" over night. I will plow today after I try to set up my RR track on the back blade.
Back into town today and get some fresher/ brussels sprouts, IF there are any.
We got lazy yesterday and had take out Chinese food. Lemon chicken is one of my favourites. Only because this shop doesn't do Kung-Pow hot chicken. There are no stray cats hanging around the shop, and that is how I 'think' it is real chicken.
Picked up a 26er of Baileys Irish Cream, which I like about as much as Drambuie, but way better than white wine. Step Son and D-I-L like the wine.
I really like the reflection pictures.
Have a safe day all
