Our firearms regulations are indeed onerous and they keep on getting worse. One of the reasons I started reloading was the restrictions on keeping ammunition. Fortunately there are no significant restrictions on primers, bullets or powder, I just have to show my certificate and can then buy as much as I want.

We have a big issue at the moment with many police forces starting to demand a letter from a doctor that says we aren't crazy before they will renew our firearms certificates, even though no laws insist on that. It hasn't been well thought through, as shooters with even mild depression will be much less likely to go to the doctor to get help. Some doctors who don't like anyone to own guns are refusing to write the letter, or make their fees extortionate and for those living in rural areas, finding another doctor is often not at all easy.

Yep time starting to run out getting those outside project done before old man winter comes to visit, upper NH been forecasted for snow mix Friday night.

Fortunately we are supposed to get more rain Friday into Saturday but snow will happen soon enough!

Eric, I selected a purple stove, just to see what it would look like...$9,100, plus they said they would contact me to determine the shipping costs. So I ordered two. Seriously, it does look like a great stove, and I really like the way they take pride in "Made in Great Britain."

My wife and I went up to Shenandoah National Park again yesterday. Colors were much more developed. We hiked on Carson's Mountain to Ft Windham Rocks, along with some AT hiking. Saw deer, chipmunks and a black snake, but still no bears. Due to the corona virus, the visitor center had moved the rangers outside to offer help, so only the gift store inside was open, requiring the use of hand sanitizer before entering, a one-way path through, and of course, face masks. Then heard on the radio as we were driving home that the CDC had data showing that 71% of people in the study had tested positive for the China virus "always" wore a mask. Another 14% who caught it "often" wore a mask. So, we concluded we should wear a mask, but not slack off on keeping distance and washing our hands. Oddly, the camp store/snack bar/gift shop/bathrooms about 15 miles further south at Elkwallow had none of these restrictions, except masks.

Good morning. It was 69° this morning and our high is forecast to get to 90° this afternoon. We're anxiously awaiting a cold front, that should get us to the high 50's in the morning and a high of about 70° tomorrow. Maybe some rain as well.

I'd posted, a few weeks ago, that I'd started looking at a new side by side UTV for the ranch. I mentioned to a few friends and neighbors that my present Polaris Ranger might be coming up for sale. My Ranger has been well taken care of and serves me well so .. it's replacement was "nice to have" rather than "have to do". With that in mind I put a fairly high starting price onto it to see what the market was.

The trailer, I use with the Ranger / haul the Ranger on .. is a 77" x 12' single axle utility with a fold up ramp.



The current side by side UTVs (crew style) are generally about 13 1/2 ft. long and won't fit on my current trailer. That in mind .. I decided to offer my Ranger and trailer as a "package deal".

I sent an email yesterday morning, with the particulars of both Ranger and trailer, to the four folks who'd expressed a strong interest and less than 2 hours later I received a full price offer.

The Ranger and trailer went down my road at 7 p.m. So .. I'm now walking.

Plans for today .. is to stop by one of our three county early voting locations to see how crowded they are .. if not too busy , I'll vote. We have three weeks of EV, in Texas, this election due to the Covid.

After that, a stop at our local Polaris and Can-Am dealers to see what inventory they have. The Can-Am dealer already told me he would loan me one of his used side by sides .. if I had to wait for delivery of a new machine.

Good morning, the temp is 52°F and going down to 50. Wind S 14 mph. 40% chance of rain and it is raining now.
Rain is in the forecast right through to next Wednesday.

A dump run and into town is all I have to do today.

70°F and .24 inches rain.

Have to find the breach in my fence allowing some pig to come in and be destructive. Of course that means the little pup could get out. Kekoa did back at that age/size and always a challenge to get him back on right side of fence. Not sure I’d even see Makani if he got a few feet off into the deep grass. Pigs will usually work at the fence bottom until they find a place to squeeze thru. Hopefully it’s close to the damaged area and easy for me to find.

If that’s a reasonable fix then I’ll find something else to get into like attaching T111 to my caretaker project.

Nice stoves Eric. Back in the 80’s during the oil situation I installed an old wood burner drug from MIL’s barn in our kitchen in Maine. Put the electric in the basement and enjjoyed wood for both heat ad cooking.
