Good evening! Still 67 and dry. Maybe some rain later.

Long day going to southern WV and back. But my belief the settings were wrong was right. Made some adjustments, spent some tome watching the customer mow the railroad right of way, then head home. Had to send some emails to get some other units fixed. Glad the sales guy drove. I am still tired.

We saw the aftermath of a truck accident on the northbound lanes of I-77 in WV. Semi went off the road and got on top of the concrete barrier. The trailer was reduced to rubble....all of the smoke got out of the cargo.

Think it will be an early night.

Everyone stay safe out there

Once you let the smoke out, it’s hard to put back.

Good Morning!!!! 66F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High 89F. Winds light and variable.
PSPS status went from Elevated to Watch yesterday, a good sign they'll be turning off the electricity Wednesday-Friday. Despite all the assurances that the big fire is out, northeast winds still make me uneasy and extra watchful.

Not good news, Mike. I've been nursing something like that for more than a year, and it still flares up once in a while. Want to avoid surgery, as the success rate isn't that great from what I can gather.

The root cause of the problem, Eric, is faulty spools for the top'n'tilt, two complete sets of them now. Check valves stop the drift (leak down), but also defeat the float capability. The electric valves stop the drift, and can be turned off to let the float work. But they're expensive, and as you point out, are one more thing to break, and also one more thing to be removed when it's time to mount the backhoe. It was close to fifty bux to ship the last set of defective valves back to Kubota, and I think they've had more than ample opportunity to make the situation right, but haven't. It's clear they don't test the valves they make, since the second set leak worse than the originals. Once the quote comes back from Fit Right, I'm pretty sure I'm going to ask for a refund from Kubota.

Add Larro and Gary (TBN Founder) to the MIA list, too...

Good luck with your Prime Day shopping, Drew, and your ID transfer. Never had much luck finding anything worth buying on Prime Day, but once I had all the paperwork together, RealID was a snap. Tried to sign up for NoMoRobo yesterday, but it wouldn't work on either the Google or land lines, and wasn't worth $2/month to stop the few calls that come in on the cell.

Glad the trip panned out, Rich. That's a lot of driving, but some things you just have to do yourself if you want it done right.

Not much progress on the engine build yesterday. The wrist pins for the pistons are held in place with wire circlips, which for some reason the manufacturer has made of very strong spring steel that's incredibly difficult to force down into the slots. Found a YouTube video that gave four ways to do it, and using a screwdriver to pry with worked fine on the bench, but not for the other end which has to be done on the engine. Ended up making a copy of a tool shown in the video, and after several trial and error adjustments to it, the last circlip went in. Hope things go more smoothly today.

65-73 today, still misty and damp, right at 2” of rain from this system. Guess I’ll find something in the garage to do. I’m going to mow one more time before removing the deck, but it’s got to dry out first. Maybe I’ll work on the El Camino some.
Have a good day.

RNG,

Getting conflicting info on that part. Unfortunate I am losing strength due to lack of proper movement. So.....it's a medical quagmire. LOL.

Here is hoping your day goes better.

Good morning all, 46 going up to 54 and rainy- had over an inch yesterday. So won;t be able to do much outside today.

Yesterday off to supermarket and bank, seems the bank gave away my money to the state since I didn't do anything with it for 1.5 years. and found out my address was reverted back to my NJ address again, since they had been sending papers to my PA house I am a bit miffed. Now have to go through hoops with the state to get my money back, and maybe some legal wrestling.
G
ood news though, my 3 year complete pool finally passed inspection for the swale I built, so CO is being created and I can finally move on with leak fix.

Rip - sorry to hear about the cuff issues-brother had that, got it cleaned up and it made a big improvement
Buppies - hope all is uphill starting today!
RNG- TNT seems to be giving you excessive grief. Kubota produces leaky valves a lot ?? Spring wire circlips-guess they really, really did not want them to come out.
Drew-good luck with DMV - they were pretty nice in PA compared to NJ, so hope this will go smoothly

Stay safe and be well

Good morning to all! Low of 42, up to 74 today, breezy and dry. Still no rain in the forecast.

Speaking of missing members, for some reason I thought of CWB Wyo..... his last post was on 02/042020.... after posting about having 2 ft of snow....
Jay still MIA, and a few others....

Buppies, I hope everything turns out ok with the septic. Maybe an easy fix is in the cards....

Rip, sorry to hear about your shoulder, hopefully no surgery will be required.

RNG, sorry to hear that the new valves are worse.... They would be already on the way back to Kubota for sure! That is a lot of leak down.

I was able to get most of the honey-do list checked off yesterday, just a couple of pictures to get rehung today in a different location. Most of the list were projects I was putting off because I thought they were going to be a PIA..... turns out they were fairly easy....

The rest of today may turn into a putter about day....

Everyone have a great day!
