Bummer about the wire, Rick, and with automotive and motorcycle tires, it's a safety no-no to plug a sidewall. On the ZT, it certainly worth a try. You might have better luck using one of those patches with the rubber plug that sticks out in the middle. And maybe use a tire sealant, for good measure. If none of that works out, you can always stick an inner tube in there. Lot cheaper than a $170 new tire/wheel.

With these tires being such an uncommon size .. tubes are even harder to find. Still looking though.

Mid 90s already and humid, dew point is 75.
Looks like we east coast folks have to watch the tropical storm for a few days.

Gathering stuff for my birthday cookout, birthday is Sunday, but cookout is Saturday to better fit kids and grandkids schedule. Just a typical old fashioned burger and dog cookout, Daughter is making my favorite deviled eggs and daughter-in-law is making the cake, step kid are bringing chips and such.

See...you are Loved!

Pulled the trigger on a new network system for the house this morning. Decided to go with Ubiquity Unifi components that use managed switches and separate access points. One component will also house a large disc drive and host security cam software for their line of cameras. Looking forward to getting rid of the patchwork of cameras and WiFi routers that are here now, but resetting all the network logins, not so much.

Dream Machine Pro
UniFi Switch 24 PoE
Unifi AP AC Pro
G3 Flex Camera

Looking forward to following this project.

The coating is very heavy, Ted, and I'm really glad I had a paint shaker to shake both the component parts and to mix the two together. I used a short 3" roller to apply it because I was afraid it would go on too heavy with a Shutz gun and I'd run out. Seemed to go OK on the bottom of the lid and the front third of the tank, but by that time the metal was getting really hot and I decided to stop painting for the day. I purchased two gallons, and that was all the first gallon would do. The instructions say only one coat is needed, and it is hiding pretty well. Gonna be close to get things covered with the second one, but it just might squeak by. :crossfingers:

Amazing transformation. Did you decide on putting back some of the baffles ?

Enjoying 3rd (last) cup of coffee and wx playing with me, raining again
IMG_0540.JPG

Might be awhile before dry enough for me to mow.

Queried the one local glass place that might fix door for an estimate.

Haven’t found available UV coated Lexan yet, HD out of stock. The pandemic seems to be eating up plastic sheet stock here. I guess worst case I may have to order. Of course if I ordered a 4x8 then I’d have enough leftover for golfcart windshield.
I’d be hesitant to order glass and have to bring home in truck to install but remains an option.

I’d say definitely worth a try on a mower tire as failure shouldn’t be a big safety issue, more inconveniece. I’d even try those push in repairs with lots of sealant.

Rick, I would try a patch on inside of tire. May require a little grinding with a Dremel to get flat spot.

No baffles, just the two transverse stiffeners visible in the tank photo.

If the truck ever needs to get moved, the tank will either be completely full or empty. It's days of dashing off to a fire are long gone.

Government mandates for shields between vendors and customers have put most clear plastics in short supply.

The window I mentioned earlier was the stationary one, and it was a sealed dual pane one. It was a standard size, and the repair shop had one in stock. The tech pried off the plastic covers around the frame, removed what was left of the old window, and pushed in the new one. It was a tight fit, and I cringed as he used his foot to force the bottom into place. Made me wonder if there was some sort of settling issue in under the door, or if it was just slip shod construction. Neither of us thought to check the frame for square, but I will if it happens again.
