Forgot to mention. Some RV parks have propane delivery. That's what we had in TX. In AZ we needed extend a stay.

this place is seriously no frills, but I will ask. larger parks often have their own tanks and they fill for you.
thanks
headed out now to camping world, best deal on empty 30 pound tank

Lots of good extend-a-stay options there, Ron. I'm wondering why I can't just get a pigtail and connect a picnic bottle to the fill port on the RV tank?
There are adapters for the 1 lbs bottles. Utube videos on how to do it.

Turkey only has 1 chick. It was out in middle of lawn. I have seen as many as a dozen from others.

actually I'm not, got snagged at door, only essential medical appointments and I didn't feel like lying.
This is a real problem, how to get out to get rv moved. Need to rethink all my plans, likely move earlier

Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 5:00AM. Sunny. High 94F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph.

Out here, Dave, they're right up front about recycling, at least since the CV19 panic: There isn't any. It's all shut down, supposedly because it's too hazardous for staff to deal with the waste. I think it's just a convenient cover to stop a practice that made no money for the trash companies.

That's a lot of mowing, David!

I wish the builders of that tank had installed an anode when the made it, Eric. Would have saved me a lot of trouble, but only if someone else would have gone in there and changed it at regular intervals. You have me thinking, though: Can I weld in some kind of bracket that would accommodate one of the magnesium water heater anodes, accessible through the hatch for easy future replacement?

Good luck with your doctors, Drew. And even better luck getting settled in with the RV. Hope you meet some nice people in the park.

Sounds like now you HAVE to retire, Phil, to finish all those home improvement projects!

A couple of hours and a half dozen zip discs later, no more baffles. You're an inspiration, RS!

The sump was hopelessly clogged with debris, but I had to cut away a baffle that surrounded the pickup to get to it. Took a lunch break before I did the clean out, and when I came back, there was smoke coming out of the sump. Some enterprising mouse had made a house under all that junk, and it made excellent tinder. So that and the whole bucket of debris got drowned with the garden hose before being dumped on the back yard junk pile.

Got the urethane coating on order, and also the tambour door for the van. Today is wire brush day, and it might be one of those jobs best taken in small doses. On the other hand, once I'm covered in rust, might as well just knuckle under and git'er'done...

Happy Hump Day!

Does anyone in your area offer "dustless blasting"? Think of it as pressure washing with water / abrasive media. Might be a solution? There's a guy in our area, who bought one of these units but getting him to return a phone call is aggravating to say the least.

Mobile Trailers | Dustless Blasting(R)

If you watch "Iron Resurrection" (Martin Bros. Customs) on the MT Channel you'll see that they use a local guy, in Blanco County, with a trailer mounted DB System.

Northern Tool sells a kit, to use with your own pressure washer but, it's probably too small for the scale of your job.

Heading up to 97. Hit 102.2 on our digital porch thermometer yesterday when I came in from my hike.

Finally got a shower last night, about a quarter inch, and lots of lightning around. Glad you got some, Rip. Looks like down in Gloucester they got 3.4 inches and over 2 on the Northern Neck.

Happy Anniversary, Phil and Mrs. Sounds like you in it for the long haul, putting it in stone.

Jay?

Rick, hope you beat that leak.

Eric, the yard registered about k2Puer on the skunk scale this morning.

Seems that cardboard is the big money maker for recycling here.

Saw a single file "string" of bobwhite chicks cross the backyard yesterday behind mom. They were about half the size of my fist, and camouflaged in the brown grass. First chicks I've seen...guessing the first nest failed in the spring. Carolina wrens are feeding their chicks in the nest they made under the outside hood of our kitchen exhaust fan. Good thing that it has a large area under it for the air to flow.

72°F and mostly cloudy this morning, going up to 87° today. We had a thunderstorm with a little staying power last night, and it dropped a fair amount of rain. Another smaller one rolled through and woke us at 03:45 this morning. Looks like all the rain forecast for the rest of the week has been removed until Monday.

Happy (belated) Anniversary, Phil.

I got into the front area between the pond and the road to do some smoothing with the Ratchet Rake last week, Mostly_. The area behind the pond, though, isn't finished yet. I'll probably go over it with the RR to at least knock down some of the bigger stuff (and probably expose more debris), but anything I do will be undone when they finish filling the area and building up the berm around the back side. Just something I'll have to deal with for now. Once all the dirt work is done, then I'll make it smooth and mowable.

Sounds like fun work, RNG. Are you planning to replace any of the baffles?

67°F and 0 rain.

Back on the flail mowing, the Hilo end of property. Again 1st time with the flail. Took about 9 hours with brushhog last time.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

It's gonna be a blast, Paul. Wanna fly out for a few days and help?

I'm a little worried that the baffles gave some support to the tank sides to keep them from oil canning out, so I plan to make up some 1/8" x 3" x 70" stiffeners that will span the short dimension of the tank. Just hoping there will be enough steel left in the side walls to weld to...

76F, cloudy, and possibly raining @ 12:45 ... 50% chance of thunderstorms today, with storms likely tonight and a high of 84F for the day. NWS rates Severe Storm Risk as "marginal".

Had a shower come through around 05:00 and got what seemed like a decent amount of rain, although not sure exactly how much. Started off dumping and then tapered off to steady. Should green things up a bit.

Hoping that everyone who needs rain gets some.

Removed hose from hose reel yesterday, cleaned it off and tested hose and watered blueberries ... no leaks in hose, but unfortunately the part where the supply hose connects to the reel was rusted very badly and broke when I tried to turn it ... so I'll need to see if I can source that part or cobble something together, as it's a pretty nice hose reel.

Got replacement particleboard panel for shelving up in shop sanded and first coat of stain applied. Needs a second coat before poly.

Also applied multiple coats of neatsfoot oil to the leather backer on tool belt hammer holder (it had gotten wet somehow and was curled and real stiff)

Sanded some handles on yard/garden tools and did some research on beeswax/BLO finishes. Now just need to locate the beeswax ... should be up in laundry room cabinets.

Spent a good part of the day cleaning up garage. Got the spilled bentonite cleaned up (inadvertently punctured the bag with one of the forks when I went to move the radial arm saw ...) and did some vacuuming.

Measured door plate for the man door in the garage that needs replaced, Menards has ready-to-finish oak one that should work so I added that to order, along with some 8d galvanized siding nails, a 1 gallon hand pump sprayer (designed for bleaches, has Viton seals), and a gallon of BLO.

Read over instructions for siding cleaner before I hit the rack ... seems simple enough: spray on with pump type sprayer, wait 5 - 10 minutes and then hose off.

A pair of neighborhood kids started repeatedly driving down the driveway and over past the pole barn into the woods yesterday. Apparently they aren't driving past any of the No Tresspassing signs that are posted ... so I'll need to catch them on one of their forays and see who they belong to.

Probably start rounding up carpentry tools in garage and get them loaded back into appropriate tool box. Might move pressure washer up to garage and drain the old fuel (if any) and see if I can get that started.

ATT "Ready-To-Go" rep is due sometime between 18:00 and 20:00 for "Contactless Delivery" of new phones, Amazon supposed to drop-off new cases and screen protectors sometime today as well.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable, productive, and safe day ...
