72F and mostly clear @ 22:00.

Spent a most of the day cutting down the jungle on the west side planting beds with the FS 66 brush cutter in preparation for some transplanting/propagation ... maybe about 40% done. Pachysandra, lily of the valley, hostas, hydrangeas, rhododendrons.

The Woman got the entire front mowed, upper and lower ...

Garden center she wanted to go to is closed for the season so trip for flowers was cancelled.

Eight house sparrows caught, five euthanized, two escapees (while I was reaching in trying to grab them), left one in the trap for tomorrow.

The two fawns made multiple appearances today, including one at the hosts buffet line.

Hope everyone had a good day.

Just in case you didn't know there are some real nut jobs in this world! My wife works for our local TV station and received death threats over COVID-19 reporting. He gave his name and location and cursed her and her co-workers like no one could imagine. The police had a talk with him which only set him off more. The sad thing is he has no idea that you shouldn't mess with a farm boy's wife!

Regardless how you might believe with this Covid stuff, remember that some people in the media are just doing their job with no hidden agenda.

Anyway, prayers for all to keep safe!

Good evening all. 79F for the start, light breeze mostly overcast. Had 2 minor disturbances go through dry, but would cloud up as they approach then clouds break up as they left, Wind was same way up and down, and high temp was 98F, feels like 106F. Humidity was noticeably lower, was not wringing wet after bike ride. Wife and I did walk to start day, then bike ride, made it to 6K miles on 10-speed got from neighbors trash in 2014. worked on Volagi (flat tire) and the 10-speed replacement, replaced seat after test ride, plan on riding it tomorrow. Don had second set handle bars, may need to try them. Tried to see comet tonight, too many clouds :( Spent 1.5 hour on phone with old friend from Missouri, so no time to catch up with today's postings. :(
Covid update: Cooke 98 confirmed cases. 14 active cases, Montague 27 confirmed cases, 8 active cases, Grayson 754 confirmed cases, 65 active cases

That's terrible. Hope he gets a stay for a bit behind the bars.

Indeed (both: introducing non-native species ... and being foolish ...)

You will need a bigger pen to trap those non-native cattle.
Don't tell our cats they are non-native.

I don't know some of Dad's cattle were pretty wild especially when they were contained. I had to scramble over the fence many times.

How about non-native wild vs non-native edible and non-native pets.

Kyle, pets can be carriers but probably cannot transfer it to humans. Just read it this morning, I will try to find the reference.

Here it is.
". . . Preferably, you should avoid contact with both people and pets, and be cordoned off in a “sick room” with a separate bathroom, if possible.

Can pets get the disease? In rare cases, dogs have been found infected with the new coronavirus, but the virus replicates poorly in canines. They don’t seem to get sick, and they don’t appear to pass the virus along to others. This is consistent with what we saw in SARS, where a small number of pets tested positive, but they didn’t appear able to infect others.

The COVID-19 virus has been shown to reproduce efficiently in cats, however, who are then able to experimentally transmit the virus to other cats in separate cages, presumably via respiratory droplets, even though they may themselves not become sick. A survey of 102 cats in Wuhan province after the outbreak found evidence of infection in 15 of them––presumed, as with the pet dogs, to be cases of human-to-animal transmission. In the United States, the first confirmed case of animal infection was a sickened tiger at the Bronx Zoo, followed by a few pet cats. There is no evidence to date that pets have been a source of infection of COVID-19 for humans, but rather, we suspect, it’s the other way around."

The part I bolded confuses their suspicions.
