Happy Birthday America!

Just read the Declaration of Independence, an annual Independence Day tradition. Then I skim the Constitution. Keep a copy of both on my desk. Thank you to the Brave men in 1776 who started us on the path to be freer than any in history, with the ability to pursue "Happiness."

Jay said: "Phil- Thanks. Did you get nailed by the Tstorms the other day? With that system I saw very little Tstorm activity all the strong cells skirting my area. I have received 1.80" of rain with the past 3 weather events."

Yes. We got hammered. Gardner got so much water they had waist deep flooding in some areas. Lot's of damage to vehicles and yards.Thankfully nothing bad here or at the apartment house.

Today we are 59 now going to 82 with partly cloudy skies. I had the last three days off and got some projects done I have been putting off for a while
.
Less than 100 (95)to go to reach my Thomas day!

Happy 4th everyone! Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

66 right now...high in the low 80's.
Started mowing yesterday when a rain shower hit for about 20 minutes or so...that ended the mowing, so I'll try again in a couple hours. Also, finally had a chance to pick up that .300BLK Ruger American bolt-action. Sold a similar rifle...same rifle, actually, but in 5.56 caliber. The .300BLK came with a 10 round P-Mag marked .223/5.56. The mags will accept a .300BLK round...but I'm going to have to mark it some way to ensure the calibers are never mixed. A 5.56 round will go down the .300BLK barrel, but a .300BLK round will not shoot through a 5.56 barrel...that would be catastrophic
Stepdaughter is heading to her friend's house, so it's just the wifey, dog and I. Might grill, but probably not...
Oh yeah...washing machine took a dump yesterday...so, I'm pricing them. The failed unit is a front loader that came with the house. I'd guess it's 15-20 years old. Boy! Washing machines have gotten pretty expensive! I'm looking at a Samsung top loader...going to cost a bit north of $700.

Happy 4th of July, my Friends!!!

Good Morning!!!! 69F @ 4L30AM. Sunny. High 97F. Winds light and variable.

Linseed oil looks nice on that pine, RS. That bird house looks like a monster! How big is a flicker, anyway?

I remember the hype surrounding those electrostatic speakers, Paul. And the stratospheric prices, too!

Eighty miles in seven hours is movin' right along, Bruce. Reminds me of my younger days. Did a hundred in just less than five hours a couple of times.

One day at a time, Drew. Keep goin' the way you've been, and all this'll be behind you in no time at all. The Audi'll be parked in a nice garage attached to a nice house in a good neighborhood. All you have to do is figure out where, and with all the internet resources available these days, that shouldn't be too hard for a smart guy like you...

Glad the new trimmer's got enough muscle to do the job, David. How long does a charge last under that kind of load?

Was able to get the key fob remote paired to the van's alarm yesterday, but the baffling series of button pushes and key on/off sequences that program the various features still eludes me. Hopefully there's a YouTube video out there somewhere for the learning impaired such as myself.

I saw more masks in town yesterday than ever, but still quite a few people not using them. The grocery store was packed with people shopping for the long weekend, and most were doing a pretty good job at social distancing, too. The New York steaks at the meat counter looked tempting, until I saw the $29.95/lb price. The line looked long at the post office, but that was because people were standing at least six feet apart.

Happy birthday to Uncle Sam and Ol' Glory. Long may she wave!
