Good morning!!!!

Good morning to all! Low of 52, nice and crisp. Going for a high of 86, breezy. No rain chances until Friday now. We are really, really dry.

Drew, I hope you can find out some good news today.

Wng, I too, will recommend the radiator genie. I probably would have never purchased one because of the price, but my dealer through one in when I bought the tractor. It is fantastic! When / if it ever goes kaput, I will buy another.

Ron, another beautiful picture! I also want to know if that is a real butterfly

David, sorry to read about the oil filter. I learned from previous experience when it took 4 days to get one of the LS filters, to always get two... keep one on the shelf. Hopefully you are up and running soon!

I am off to start the projects. First, going to have to unload at least half of the trailer of lumber. I slid a bunch of the deck boards forward over the tongue.... a little too far forward.... I cannot put the tongue jack down. So, unload half that is on top of them, so they can be moved. I hope the rest of the projects do not have glitches like this...

Everyone have a great start to the week!

Good morning everyone,

8am, 30F now, and snowing with the ground turning white, high about 48F today.

Let the dog outside and he was very happy to see it snowing this morning.

Mrs. plans for us to go to Walmart today, 101 miles one way, for curbside delivery of our groceries.

Good morning, 64 going up to 80.
Doe keeps coming back, when it decided to snack on some flowers the wife started chasing :)
Got my log splitter set up and split some 30" rounds, was using an 8lb maul, but these rounds were just too big and didn;t want to spend months noodling to get them manageable.

Went out the other day to Peddlers village, was nice to see it partially open. Got a beer and sat at an outside table. Lot's of outside tables now.

Mowed 2 more small fields. Busy weekend. Got gas, Diesel and propane, so ready for some more work and grilling.

keep finding lots of these little guys. One here out front and another slightly bigger sunning on the wood stack, that one went under the tarp so no pic.

Drew - glad to see you posting so often and making progress. Hope the call goes well today.

David sorry to hear about your filter not holding oil anymore :-(

Thanks all for the pics, great way to start the week.

Good afternoon. Plenty of cloud cover this morning and with no rain expected, I have been out with the knapsack (backpack) sprayer to try and keep on top of thistles. The worst 2 fields will have to wait for another year as there is not enough grass to move the sheep out to spray.

No full blown riots, but lots of anti-racism protests have been going on in this country too. A few people were out to cause trouble, throwing bottles at police, however they were in the minority, the vast majority of people were peaceful, although way too closely packed together when such a virulent virus is at large. A lot of discussion going on about a bronze statue in Bristol being pulled down and thrown into the harbour. It was of a long dead wealthy man who made a lot of money from slave trading and gave it to worthy causes on his death, but had very few, if any, other redeeming features. I reckon the protesters have done the town council a favour as the debate about the statue being in a prominent public place has gone on for too many years.

Ron, nice colourful picture your GD took of flowers and butterfly. Are you are allowed to meet your family close up ? We can't do that yet unless you arrange to meet outside and keep 2 metres apart.

66°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 91° today. Rains from the remains of the tropical storm are supposed to arrive overnight tonight and last through tomorrow.

We had pretty glorious, if not a little hot, weather here over the weekend. Not a cloud sighted all weekend. Got up to 93° Saturday while I was mowing. A little breeze made it quite tolerable. Sunday got up to 91°, but again the low humidity and a slight breeze made it seem cooler.

Big plans for Sunday fell aside when The Wife decided we should go buy new bicycles. We've talked about this off and on for some time. It occurred to us Sunday morning that we haven't ridden since the summer before we got married, 2013. Our last bikes were in the basement of my house in St. Jacob, which flooded that summer with 28" of water and destroyed a lot of stuff, including the bikes. We just never replaced them, as it seemed a low priority while we've been working on rehabbing the property. This weekend, though, we decided we needed to start riding again, and that new bikes would be an early anniversary gift to each other. We went to our favorite old bike shop in Edwardsville IL called The Cyclery. They weren't allowing anyone in the store, unfortunately. So the young girl helping us asked what we were looking for and what kind of riding we were planning, then she started bringing out bikes for us to try. Wifey really liked a Liv Flouish model the best (never heard of it, but apparently Giant's spinoff brand for women's models). I went through several models of Giant and Cannondale, none of which really thrilled me, before deciding on a Giant Sedona, which was quite comfortable. We said we weren't going to spend a lot on bikes, but that seems a pipe dream these days, at least for a decent one. I suppose, all things being relative, we didn't spend nearly as much as we could have, especially after adding a few accessories like lights and tool bags and water bottle holders. We took them home and took them out for a short spin down the road to the south, then back to the north a bit before going back home. Rode maybe two miles total. Definitely need to get our bike legs back. Looking forward to riding regularly again.

Good to hear from Drew again. Regarding the GM "friendship" thing, I've said it before and I'll say it again ... this particular thread has become my favorite place on the internet. Fantastic people here, and you're one of them, Drew. As for women liking long hair on men, I've been milking that for nearly 54 years now, and have no plans to stop anytime soon. :D

I am as flummoxed by this police defunding movement as anyone else. Talk about severe shortsightedness? Heard this morning that there's a movement with wide support in the Minneapolis city council to completely disband the city police there. What are these people thinking? I had a notion back during the troubles that followed after the Ferguson incident that seems ripe again now. In places like LA or NYC or Minneapolis where they're talking about defunding or disbanding, just have every single cop call in sick for a week, every day, and make it public knowledge that there are no police. At the end of that week, have them all go back to the city councils and ask, "So, how'd you do without police? Still want to defund us?"
These people are insane.

I'm pushing hard for independence.
Free Drewski.

There’s a protest I’ll join.

Local “peaceful” protests the last 3 days, if you call stopping vehicles on the interstate, kicking vehicles, and whites getting punched by blacks peaceful. Cops looked the other way. Sad times, I fear it will only get worse.

Covid numbers keep going down. Down to 6% positive of those tested.

Drew - How full is the facility you are in?
Are there a lot of empty rooms?

hard to tell. Physical therapy draws from lots of area, lot of folks with one leg, maybe diabetes some perhaps car accidents.
/folks in worse shape than I and probably having depression issues too.
Rest of hospital is separated, Im sure the emergency part is busy then not
Upstairs where surgery/oncology is, seems about half full, trying to avoid two to a room.
Covid count creeps up slowly near farm, much much higher here in "big city" where hospital and ECU is.

I wear mask whenever I leave room and wash my hands a lot.
PT supv said they had conference call with my sister tomorrow, said she knew I was type A and would do all the walking needed and more.
All good. She is also going to pull the catheter out this afternoon after last PT, means I have to deal with filling up containers manually which is likely to be messy. But if that's part of the magic you can go now, well yes sir, no sir three bottles full sir..Seriously hoping to get out by end of week. They also said they are ok with my driving short trips. All sounds good.

We are allowed to meet with family/friends in groups less than 10. Social Distancing is suggested. If we go out in public (stores etc) we are required to wear mask.

The Blue Butterfly is a ornament. I did a Google search. Blue Butterflies can be found in the UK.
