Good morning!!!!

50 and nice outside...but flatlining at 50 as rain comes in soon.

Ken, hope you're doing better today.

RS, nice bird houses. Our bluebirds have been very busy with nesting season. I did have to run house sparrows out of one of them.

RNG, I've marked your vids to watch later, after the rain starts and I need some quality inside time. I think my drone does have a "governor" on it...although I believe the controller display showed more than 122 meters once or twice, it seems to max out at about 400 feet.

Gave the zero turn a good cleaning yesterday, and then changed the blades. I had used it as a bush hog on a quarter acre patch of dried up, decaying sorghum stalks and clover underneath. It wasn't really a tough cut, but the stalks were still tall enough to collect a mountain of debris all over the deck and radiator screen. Now I have some dull blades to sharpen. did a test mow with the new blades, and cut like butter.

Changed the air filters on the tractor and tilled the garden again. First dug up and transplanted some volunteer sunflowers. Garden soil looks great. I ordered a different type of landscape fabric for the garden...supposed to arrive today from Lowe's. I had a gift card from credit card points and needed a couple of other things. We have started using rocks instead of staples to hold down the fabric. I sure have enough of them I've gathered from some of our food plots...some are full of rocks, other plots have almost zero...soils are very different, too.

I sure feel good today.

Managed to salvage some video from yesterday's drone flights, killing time waiting on the Kubota salesman to "call me right back".:irked:
Thank goodness for fast forward...

Come in handy investigating all kinds of things never leaving yard.

Ugh...what happened to the weather? Seems we are going back to cold and rainy for the next few days. I thought I heard a weather person say we are 20 degrees below normal and inches above our average for rain. More rain coming in this afternoon. I started draining the pool yesterday, since I don't plan on opening it for another two weeks. Course if we have a nice day....all bets are off.

RNG, you look good on that machine. It fits you. Love the van.

Our neighbors dog made a visit last night, got out again. Luck would have it, I was inside the barn when it was running around. Good thing it did not meet me on the walk to the pasture.

Just proves dogs are smarter than people. The guy is at his wits end trying to figure out how-to contain his dog. And his claim is he is from a rural/suburban area.

May get on the tractor to mow again today, I say again, even though it was last week. Seems like everyday the grass needs cut somewhere around this property. LOL.

The drones are amazing. I am waiting for the gutter cleaning and roof painting versions. Yes, thank you!

Have a great day all. Be safe. Stay healthy.

Good morning! A warm 72˚ F before sunrise. Cloudy and rain later this morning but still heading out to move mulch with the tractor before the rains start.

Good morning, the temp is 24°F and going to 48. Wind N 9 mph. Mainly sunny.

I'm patiently waiting for my new steel lawn roller (I'll use it on the driveway, too) to get here from Farm Fleet.

Other than the roller, I have nothing planned. Another energy conservation day.

Have a safe and healthy day all

Poured last cup of coffee. 37ー with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 54ー with cloudy skies. Got all my stuff put away from weekend projects . Hope to be getting started on putting mulch down. Need to put down weed killer first. Hope winds stays low.
Early morning visitor. Normally only in the dark.

DREW, hope you are doing OK.

RNG, great drone video. I like the tractor shot at 30 seconds. Rest of the video was great also. 9k' + video was impressive. Pilot has a lot more courage than I have.

RS, bird houses look good.

Roy, I have a dentist visit on the 21st. No mention of it being cancelled yet. Hope your dentures get done in a short time.

Riptides, I see me cutting lawn every 5 days this year again.

Don, hope you have a good Seat Time day.

Looking, how big is roller?

Thomas, how many Trail Cams have you lost?

Everyone stay safe and healthy.

Good Morning All.

52°F and drizzle this morning, going up to 62° today.

Most of the heavy stuff went around us again yesterday, so we just got some off and on light stuff.

We have not used DuckDuckGo yet, Eric ... but that would have been entertaining. As it happens, it was just a boring old Facebook group.

Good Morning!!!! 58F @ 5:00AM. Sunny to partly cloudy. High 86F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

Good luck with the new trail cam, Thomas. I hope the convenience of being able to download the images wirelessly doesn't come a the cost of short battery life.

Why would anyone risk a drone flying it in a trench when they could just walk down it with their phone to make a video?:confused2:

Have fun on the tractor today, Don. Hope you're not too rusty after such a long idle time...

Are Drew and Rick on vacation together?:confused3:

I think that drone pilot must have a lot more money than I have too, Ron. He'd never find that thing if it ran out of batteries and had to land, even if it did manage to get to the old bridge.

FWIW, the DJI Fly app can set the altitude ceiling to 1640', but it makes the user OK an agreement releasing DJI from all liabilities that may result from violating the FCC 400' restriction.

Tons of YouTube videos of escape artist dogs, Mike. Pretty funny, unless you're the dog's owner...

Marked where the trench to the garage needs to go, and got a little more dirt shoveled out of the way yesterday. Still haven't found that water line, though. But spent far too much time on the phone getting the accessories ordered for the new tractor. And still have to finish up today. Also learned that the local Kubota dealer hasn't even started working on the old tractor, and they've had it a month. If it's not done by the end of the week, I'm going to get it back and fix it myself. It would be a lot handier using a smaller machine for the trench up near the house, and I may even pick it up sooner if the work warrants it.

As it happens, it was just a boring old Facebook group.

This morning in my neighborhood FB group, I learned of a new CoVid-19 case being discovered in this county, the first in something like three weeks, and that someone else managed to overturn their car on the giant concrete bridge over the Feather River. I think I'd be happy with "boring", Paul.

Our dentist sent an email saying they were reopening yesterday, and had new procedures...your car is your waiting room...they'll call you when it is time to go in...they will wear PPE for each patient, and they are adding that to the cost of the appointment.

Same here.

46 going up to 63, quite a change from 79 on Sunday.
Finished cleaning up and chipping the 5 trees. Have a DR 400 chipper and it works well up to about 3" . Only jammed it once in 6 hours of chipping and a little under 2 tanks of gas.

RNG - thanks for sharing the videos- amazing area you live in.
RS - great bird houses. We have three and all are occupied. One is new, I cheated and bought it.

Need to mow the grass today, finish cleaning up the chainsaw and change the oil and grease the chipper.

Be safe and stay well.

Ron, it is 24" D X 48" L Supposed to be about 920 lbs full of water.

RNG, forgive me if this is a stupid question; was that the Feather River in your drone vid?

Speaking of the DJI Fly app, there's a new update that promises iPad support. The version I'm using now still displays a tiny window that uses a fraction of the iPad screen. Really hard to see, so this is a big improvement!

39F and cloudy @ 09:00, 30% chance of light rain. High predicted to be 52F.

Extended forecast updated, now calling for a high of 62F and partly cloudy on Thursday. Yippee !

Need to check salt in softener before I forget and add if low. Think we might have enough down there that we should be good for the next month or two.

Beyond that, some computer work, paper work filing, and work on cleaning kitchen.

Also get that 4th birdhouse - the one house sparrows nested and laid eggs in - cleaned out.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable and productive day - stay safe and warm.

The 6 cc charges did equal the two receipt totals, but it made no sense the way the charges were separated.

I made 2 Walmart grocery pickups, 14 and 19.
14 has 2 charges on cc, but they don稚 total the receipt.
19 has 3 charges that don稚 total the receipt for that trip. Then I got another charge a week later.

I'm guessing they do the same thing as at least one of my cards. Right now it shows a "pending" $1 charge yesterday at Buc-ee's. I filled the car with gas, so when you put a credit card in there, it checks to be SURE it's valid. Probably sometime today it'll get updated to the actual charge. And I really threw Walmart a curve on the grocery pickup charges last week. I started early in the week preparing an order and adding to it on 3 different days. So the credit card showed 6 "pending" charges before they got through; down to 2 this morning. Of course I'm one of those characters who keeps all the receipts and matches them up with the bill when it comes. So far, it's always balanced.

Good morning to all! Low of 40, only going up to 72 today. They are still forecasting a chance of showers Sunday.

RS, nice job on the birdhouses. I installed a few out here, never had any birds nest in them in twenty years. They like the trees better.

RNG, yep, nice panoramic view of the area. Can you walk down those banks to the lake or are they too steep? Beautiful views! That second video is really neat, but I would be terrified I would not be able to get it back... I wonder how long (distance) he went.

Ron, nice pic of the opossum, a youngster? Odd to be out during daylight for sure....

I am sure I am missing a bunch of other stuff....

Everyone have a great day!

After 50 FEL transfers of mulch I still have a large pile.
Before and after pic.

Glad you folks are enjoying the videos. I'd hate to think they were turning into home movies nobody except me would be interested in.

Out the south side of the property is a pretty steep dropoff maybe 30' high going down to the lake. There's a sort of trail that zigzags down the face that ends up at what's left of an old lime kiln; the state recreation area is named after it. There's a narrow roadbed along which I've found a few power poles, where the trail ends. That road goes down to the lake, and from there I can walk along the bank until the abandoned boat launch road starts. That'll take me back up to the cul-de-sac where my driveway starts. It's a good half hour hike with several hundred feet of elevation change, and I should walk it much more often than I do. At this point it's been years since I was last on it.

The DJI Fly app displays both height and distance for the drone, and I think that pilot mentioned his drone was out 9500' when he turned it around.
