Ron.
Thomas, since state made it a crime in Michigan to feed deer last year. I am only feeding birds and squirrels. It has cut way back amount of feed needed each day.
......…............…………..
NH yet to pass the law but I feel its not to far down the road, and the biggest problem I seen over the years when people help out wildlife during winter months they don't realize how much work involve and cost and lose interest real fast, and when they do problems start and the wildlife suffers.
In 2001 we had desist order handed to us by the city for small group people thought we were hurting wildlife more than helping etc.etc.,not 1 person from that group wanted to confront and discuss the matter and neighbors didn't have problem and look forward seeing wildlife,I contacted fish and game was told I was in my rights to feed the wildlife, this didn't set well with the city and to this day yet to be bothered...in short when feeding wildlife one needs to use common sense.

Like one old timer said" Iam not feeding deer just the birds and keep shooing deer away but they keep coming back" ;) gentleman had few bird feeders but mostly spread the seeds etc. on the ground.

Need to put battery charger on old Cub Cadet, hope it starts, then put an ad in Craigs List to sell it. Good project for someone with
grandchildren. I've done the rider, now the mower deck needs renovating. It's only collecting mold where it sits under a tarp, need to go to next
happy home. Paid 500 bucks, put at least that into it with new tires and steering parts, probably get 500 when I sell it. But it was a lot of fun doing.
………...……………………
Nice  and if I had the room and live closer give you the coins.

Don, tractor looks good. Hope he can find the missing hood parts.

He has a hood on the first pic I saw, I need to ask him what he is doing to it. With that trailer he has a tough decision to make, join the hayride or drive the tractor.

Good morning! 61˚F heading to the high 70s, cloudy, south wind.

The Ford dealer called, my seat covers will come in today and I can pick them up. They added them during negotiations of purchasing the Ranger after I said I really wanted a different color interior and started to walk away from the deal. They offer to change out the leather seats but later I changed the deal to seat covers since I've grown to like the color now.

Good Morning!!!! 48F @ 4:30AM. Sunshine and a few afternoon clouds. High 69F. Winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph.

No thanks, Eric, I prefer my breakfast to stay where it belongs...

Sounds like you may be about to become a two tractor family, Thomas.

I wish you luck selling your rider, Drew. I also appreciate what you're saying about price. Most people don't understand the effort and cost it takes to get an older machine running again, and expect one in excellent condition to sell for nearly the same price as a beater that needs everything. And that only makes parting with an old friend like that all the more painful...:irked:

A couple months ago, a hypodermic needle exchange program was established in nearby Chico, CA. It turns out that it wasn't an exchange program at all; you can have all the needles you want, even as many as a hundred, and not have to return any of them. So now we see needles laying in the street, in merchant's doorways, behind buildings, everywhere the drug addicts/bums frequent, which is most of downtown and the larger shopping centers, even parks where kids are supposed to play. The citizenry is up in arms about it, as am I, and it'll be on the city council agenda tomorrow night. Prominently featured will be a video interview with a sixteen year old girl who was given a complete shooting rig with thirty needles, cooker tins, and tie offs, and if that weren't enough, some condoms. She did so with the consent of her parents and under adult supervision, just to see if the people running the exchange would pass out needles to children. That may be the last nail in that particular organization's coffin, and I hope it is.

Yesterday was trench day. Can you dig it?

But first, I had to prepare the end up near the house, which was too close to get to with the trencher wheel. It also overlaid the drain line for the gutters on that end of the house, and a sprinkler line. Most of it was done with a shovel, but when I got to the very end at the house, I had to break out the demolition hammer to get through the concrete and rock. And I still put a mattock through the gutter drain.:duh: Neighbor finally showed up at 4:30, said job would only take an hour. Famous last words. Started with the trench at the shipping container, which he warned would cut the land line for the phone. He was right, so patching it back together job 1 this morning.:duh::duh: Then he got started on the trench that ran from the house down to the generator pad, and shortly stalled the big wheel when he got on the steep part of the hill and into some more rock. The battery didn't have enough juice to start it back up, and he thought it also might be out of fuel, so I brought my tractor up and transferred fuel out of it with the portable pump, then got it around the other side to give it a jump. He still had to break a fitting loose to get it to prime, and finally got it started again.:duh::duh::duh: Then to get it off the trench, he had to drive over it, and that filled that section up with dirt again.:duh::duh::duh::duh: At least it's loose dirt; I'd never been able to get through the rocks. About that time it was getting too dark to see, so he'll be back this morning. Still have two more trenches to dig, so I hope he shows up earlier this time...

Also hope everyone's week gets off to a great start!

Buckeye, sorry to here you have a cold. Hope it goes away soon. It was a hard thing getting my mother to ask for help while she was at nursing home. She ended up with sensors on her bed, wheelchair and recliner. They ended up moving her room next to nurses station for a couple of months.

He can’t remember he has to push a call button for help.
Facility claims law doesn’t allow full bed rails and a bed alarm. I find that hard to believe.

Good morning to all! Low of only 31, going up to 57 today! Should really help to melt off some of the snow piles.

Now that most of the ice and snow off the driveway, I will have to fix quite a few areas of stone that I dug / pushed out into little berms / humps. I did not even realize it was happening. I guess the stone was still not packed down enough.

BEF, sorry to read about the FIL. Hope you get over the crud quickly.

Drew, if I lived closer, I would give you your asking price ++ in the blink of an eye. They are just not made like that anymore. I still fret over getting rid of my 74 Wheelhorse.

RNG, sorry to hear about the trench struggles.... at least the project is progressing!

Thomas, always nice to get permission for a new tractor rather than beg for forgiveness :cool2:

Eric, those winds are crazy! They have been showing a clip of an A380 Air Bus trying to land at Heathroe airport... also scary stuff! How the weather changes for the better soon!

I did not get out to the shop all weekend to work on the end tables. Today that is on the agenda.

Everyone have a great start to the week!

Don't we love Texas weather? 56 degrees for a low this morning and going for 80 for the high. But Thursday we may see 32 degrees again. I'm still putting off the mowing, but if it stays dry I won't be able to postpone it much longer.
