Good morning!!!!

   / Good morning!!!! #102,061
A mostly cloudy 10ºF for today’s low temperature; a cloudy 18ºF presently; and I anticipate a cloudy afternoon with a high temperature ~32ºF.* One good thing about all this recent cold is that cleaning up all the driveway deposits from Brogen are much easier. Plan for today: extricate myself from my long undies and snowmobile suit and break some firewood down to kindling.

Eric- I am happy to read about the + outcomes for your Turkey visiting friends.

“Drinking last of my allotted coffee”- RonJH I try to ration myself to two cups before noon; some days are easier than others. I am happy to read that your aunt sitting duties are moving along nicely. :)

Buppies- I am sorry to read about your employee. He’s too young to have this going on in his life.

Rick- Good news on the the fund raiser.

Drew- Your breakfast looks like great eats, far superior to my usual rolled oats oatmeal with some honey or if I am so motivated some yogurt.

I hope that everyone has a decent day.

My + thoughts and prayers

To keep the music playing, Luckenbach is only 63 miles North of the Alamo. Of course between Fort Worth and San Antonio about 10 miles off 35 is Sun City! That Fort Worth Stop may have you thinking of moving to Texas!?

Now that breakfast looks good!

Does Fort Worth ever cross your mind? And can you get to Amarillo by morning? Asking for George. And In Luchenbach, ain’t no one feelin no pain, says Waylon.

Good Morning!!!! 60F @ 5:30AM. A mix of clouds and sun. High around 70F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.
Things are still very dry here, and there's no sign of rain in the 10 day forecast, but the winds are supposed to remain calm and we're getting decent levels of humidity. So that means the power will stay on, and if a fire does start, it shouldn't spread too rapidly and chances are good it'll be extinguished before it gets very large. Thank goodness for small favors.

A twenty something with cancer? That's way too young, Buppies. I hope his prognosis is good.

How many days, hours, and seconds 'till your tractor delivery, Randy?

Talked to another solar power company yesterday, found as a local installer for the Simplifi batteries. Odd that they recommend the Sonnen lithium batteries instead, which incorporate a built in battery management system and inverter, so they appear as another AC source to the inverter that the solar panels hook to. I suppose it makes sense to the battery maker, in this case Sony, to incorporate an inverter into the battery management system to have better control over battery charging and discharge, but it sure impacts the cost in a negative way. This outfit also recommends SunPower panels, but will also source Panasonic panels if I'm uncomfortable with SunPower's fragile financial standing, which I am. The show stopper is that they're booked up 'till past the start of the new year, meaning the Federal tax credit for the system will drop from 30% to 26%. But it's likely that'll be the case with any of the outfits; there's only six weeks left in the year.

I did get some time in on the van, installing the last of all but one of the carpet panels in the driver's compartment. I'll get another can of glue while I'm in town today and be able to check that job off the list. But first, this morning I'll get the back of the van cleaned up and start installing the sound deadening material. That should make a huge difference in the racket the thing makes going down the road!

Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'!:cool2:

My son camped at Delaware seashore state park this fall and liked it.

The Alamo will disappoint.

George P. Bush, our Texas Land Commissioner, is working on a plan to reclaim the entire footprint of the Alamo, not just the church. I suspect it will be easily funded mostly by private/ corporate donations.

32F this morning, another pain free day yesterday and night, YAY!.. I should have went to bed earlier than I did, not completely rested this morning.. Father in law stopped by last night for dinner, he is doing better after a fall a couple months ago where he broke his left arm at the shoulder and a bunch of ribs. He is 95 and still does pretty good. He is recovering and will eventually be able to go home.

Stay safe, prayers for those in need.

I wasn't disappointed. It was just a small church built with materials at hand near the river. A city grew up around it. I know those people from California made several movies that probably raised you expectations of a massive scenic fort, but it is what it is. The riverwalk is across the street.

68°F and .02 inches rain.

Got Tundra back late yesterday. Not enough change from $1400 to take wife to dinner. Runs good, no idiot lights. Refused to reimburse tow in. Will be writing letter to dealership owner letting him know his manager’s attitude cost a 30+ year customer.

Will be taking Pilot to Konaside this morning - Costco trip. Likely expensive. That will pretty much take the day, 180 miles round trip. Stop in Waimea for late lunch on way home.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

The disappointment is the city that grew around it, lol. It destroyed the whole image.

I would still like to take my family to see it, if I get back down that way. I managed a project down that way years ago and did a lot of visits.

And drove really close to luckenbach and didn’t know it.

That's about the typical age for testicular cancer. Fortunately, the survival rate is quite high, if caught early...

23°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 41° today. Looks like we're trudging through a slow warm up, and should be back in the 50s by the middle of next week.

The wall mounts for the headless guitar arrived in the mail on Tuesday. I was going to mount them to the wall last night, but found that the screws for the EZ Ancor drywall anchors I have are too big for the holes in the mounts. So, rather than open up the holes, I'm going to stop on the way home tonight and try to find some slightly smaller ones. The ones I have say they'll hold up to 75 pounds. I certainly don't need that kind of support for a five pound guitar. I'm trying to avoid drilling out the holes because these mounts were made on a 3D printer, and I have no idea how that material will react to a drill bit. I might be worrying about nothing, so maybe some Google-fu is in order.

Great looking truck!
There were just too many options that I outgrew (too old) to enjoy on the new Jeep truck, like removal doors.
Is he planning on taking it off road, I read they are #1 in that category?

You'd be very disappointed in the Balinese Room.

It was totally destroyed, in September 2008, by Hurricane Ike.

I agree. I took the doors, side panels, and roof off my old Landcruiser and nothing ever fit exactly right after that. It never really leaked, but there was always water sloshing around in the gutter base of the rooftop panel. It was great off road.

David- I am glad you got your Tundra back; not so happy about the $ and poor attitude of the service manager. I do not see another Toyota vehicle in my future any time soon.

Randy- Ellen bought it will she ever have a chance to operate it? I致e been looking at Jeep pickups. Your son bought a really nice truck; congratulations.. I am leery of any kind of soft roof living around here. The cost of a hardtop is +$1K option.

At this moment in time my Tundra is running pretty well. That will give me more time to figure out my "wants & needs" in a truck.

Something like this is more my style nowadays:

The congestion I have had for more than 3 weeks is still hanging on, some days it is better and then takes a turn worse.. overall getting better though. My grand daughter is still fighting it too. She got a steroid shot when she saw the doc for ear infection..

My oldest daughter was telling me last Monday that she really likes having heated garage (40F) so she can change tires, oil and do other car maintenance in there. She does the car maintenance, no surprise. SIL is not mechanical at all. She changed the battery, starter and knock sensor on the Subaru recently, told me she still needed to do the oil change and put winter tires on..
