Burn your stove hot and don't try burning green wood and you will have no problem with cresote. Potato skins will do the same thing.
....so does burning aluminum cans . . . .
Around here you can’t burn the stove hot all day, everyday, not cold enough, I didn’t burn green wood either, I was raised with wood and coal stoves, so their operation is no mystery to me.
As for potato peels and aluminum cans, burning a chunk of styrofoam will also clean it like new. The latter two are quite toxic though.
I wonder if the bag of magnesium shavings (I have) will do anything? I've been saving them for a "Gandolf" bonfire...
partly successful morning. Podiatrist says he's done with me, slow heal from now on out.
Then went to Garden Club meeting, and had to leave 20 minutes later, thought my head would fall off,
tinnitus went crazy from live room, low ceiling and 30 women all talking at once.
Felt like a drum going off in my ear, just had to go outside, and it promptly subsided, but left me with headache
and determination to get steroids injected in that ear. So I made my excuses and left, but only a few minutes before President came over and saw my face and
asked if I was alright. No...so she understands.
But I did snag all my Dutch bulbs I ordered, and have a nice selection of them to plant, tulips, crocuses, daffodils.
Windy and raw out now, despite sun, going to wait until mid afternoon and then go plant some bulbs.
Thankfully a quiet operation.
I looked at the older lady at the podiatrist today with hugely swollen ankle and all kinds of issues,
was thankful I have what I have.
I might try to start the 1968 Cub Cadet today. I'm sure the points are stuck.
Really need to sell that, in very good condition, let it be someone else's winter project or
project to do with grandchildren. Deck is in a million pieces but it's all there, in plastic bins, waiting for
a motivated person. I mowed with it so I know it works, just sure didn't need another mower, much less one 51 years old.
It is definitely on my sell list. I'm doing pretty well so far, down two tractors and a chipper, now need to work on little stuff.
I also have a very low hour Ariens walk behind mower I would give someone for free. Drive belt won't stay on, plus with marvelous Kawasaki
single engine, with oil filter, it is heavy as can be and was not the ditch mower I needed. Plus after it stopped for the third time, and a warranty shop and a buddy
couldn't get it to work, I gave up on it. I bought it because I thought it was the heaviest duty thing out there. Turns out the cheapest, most lightweight mower was what I needed. One of a few items I have "collected" along the way which really need to go to happier homes. If any of you guys within driving distance of me want to come get it, I might send you home with a few more things. Bring a truck...
ear is much better now, what a relief. Those women just yapped me out of there....![]()
Drew, the guy on the radio down here raves about some small tiny earbuds that use bluetooth technology. They can cut out the loud room chatter at a dinner table he says. And he can talk on his phone with them, and his tv is setup with them too. Basically, they are modern hearing aids.
Looks great David.
Yes, prayers and remembrance for our vets.
Had to wear long johns to the football game last night. My knees still got cold. Aluminum bleachers suck the heat out of you like a peltier's heat sink.
Went to a company party today after steam train. Plenty of food. Had some chicken/sausage gumbo, and many other items.
I regret, that I only have one appetite to feed.
Steam train was AWESOME!!! Hundreds if not thousands showed up in Hearne Texas. Videos and photos are cool. But you have to see it live to really experience it. I took my 9 year old son to make lifetime memories.
Cold as Heck snap coming next week.
Need more firewood if it lasts.
