Good morning. Woke up a couple of times in the night with the sound of rain on the roof. The predictions are for it to continue all day, but looking at the weather map we could be on the edge and miss some of it. It seems to have eased , so I'm I'm off out to check round the fields. Do I wear full waterproofs, or do I feel lucky ?

David, now I can clearly see your "Erector Set" must be the equivalent of what I grew up calling a "Meccano Set". Didn't like to ask too much before, in this country a set with that name would have many thinking of Pfizer's little blue pills.

Morning all! 32 here going to 46. Storm coming tonight with threat of snow happening. Trip into and out of Boston was uneventful. Glad is wasn’t the day before when mostly all of the main roads had accidents with hour long back ups. Work is making progress with looking for my replacement. We interviewed a few people and maybe picked one. HR has to decide.
I have most of my outside stuff put away for the winter. Need to pick up the water hoses and shut off the faucets inside. Going to try and hook up the snow blowers at the apartment house and at the neighbors.

37 now (in Hartford, CT)...high in the mid-50s and rain most of the day. Drive north I expect rain and snow showers...not much accumulation, but enough to make it slick

44 high of 62 very cold Friday and next week. I believe winter will be made up of cold shots quickly moderating then rinse repeat. The SE Ridge will be felt for the mid Atlantic all winter

Good morning.
Temp this fine A.M. is 14 ｰF and going to a high of 27 F. Wind NW 13 mph. Partly sunny and partly cloudy.
At least there is no precip. The ground is starting to freeze up, so the snow that comes now will stay.
We did get about 2" last night. I will plow this morning.

I got my winterfront cut out yesterday and I will install it today. It is just a hunk of cardboard stuffed in front of the chaff screen.
More firewood to chuck in today, a dump run 1st thing and a town run this afternoon.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 31° with light snow this morning. Heading to 34° with snow ending in afternoon. Carpets are clean. Now need to put everything back where it belongs. No other plans.

Phil, my small town had a 3 car accident yesterday evening. Traffic was backed up all the way back to my place on a dirt road 5 miles from town. Lots of people had a late dinner. Big towns have muti lanes to park more cars on for miles. I try to avoid those places as much as I can. One of the perks of retirement.

David, do you have one of these Rust-Oleum comfort grips. Sure saves the fingers when spraying a lot. My fingers cramp up after spraying without it.

Winter Weather Travel Advisory in effect for today and tonight.

Cold westerly flow over the relatively warm waters of Lake Superior is expected to produce isolated snow squalls this afternoon and through tonight. The snow squall bands are expected to shift southward tonight moving out of the region.

Total snowfall accumulations of locally 5 to 10 cm (2-4") are expected by Thursday morning. Areas affected include Highway 69 south of Sudbury, Highway 64 and Highway 17.

Locally heavy snow is possible along with reduced visibilities at times. Falling temperatures tonight may also cause roads to become icy or slippery. Prepare for hazardous driving conditions at times.

Yup. Got the snow tires on at the Dorset Garage on the weekend. Also found out my (Chrome-coated) wheel studs on my 2016 F 150 are no good anymore because of “swelling”, and I was directed to buy “solid” new ones. $160 or so for 20 new ones - ouch! And I can’t put them on myself because some of the old ones are so bad that none of my sockets will fit them. (Nominal size is 20 mm.)
