Drew, did you get motorhome under cover yet?

timely question Ron, just an hour ago finished moving equipment around and leaving a 25 foot space under my 40 foot shed.
Lot of packing things in new spots, doing the "which one do I need first" process on everything.
Working within inches of the shed metal posts reminded me how nice hydrostatic was for inching around close spots. I feel like a bull
in a china shop with a clutch, but at least didn't take any paint off today.

I'm leaving next Thursday with the rv for PA, and when I return, it will go under the shed. Still working on it in the driveway where it's plugged into an
rv outlet.

BEF,I used two step ladders to install my garage door openers, I used one to get the end of the frame into place, then walked the motor end up the other one until I get a bolt into the hanger, then adjusted accordingly.

Buckeye, this is all on gravel or for sure.

spent last hour calling almost a dozen places and finally found a heavy truck dealer in Kinston, 55 miles away, that will do a front end alignment on my rv to hopefully get
rid of the shimmy. Need a bay with at least 12 foot doors and they were the only one to have it. Have to be there at 7:30 am, will leave around 6am on Thursday, first come first served
Really want to get that resolved before putting more miles on unit. Dealer doesn't do it, of course, MB of Raleigh can't handle motorhomes, so it's go get it done yourself, somewhere, good luck and submit a warranty claim to factory.

My GDO bit the dust. Genie screw drive, and the screw got so hard to turn that the motor could not handle it. I pulled it out and greased up the whole thing, and then put it back in, but it is still too hard to turn. Or maybe the powerhead has simply lost its oomph. Anyone ever have this problem?

Takes a special grease, I greased mine and had that issue, was researching online and found it takes a special grease. after my second screw drive GDO wore out, I replaced it with belt drive and no need to grease.

44°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 74° today. Stopped for gas this morning, and realized I probably should have grabbed a jacket before I left the house.

Wife sent me a picture yesterday of an excavator in the lake. I'd sent a text message to the landscaper on Saturday asking if he had a plan to finish that project, but never heard back from him. He showed up with equipment yesterday morning. By the time I got home, they were already done for the day and gone. The guy doing the excavating used to work with The Wife at the last construction company she worked at before "retiring". He'd made himself a a level path along one of the dry sides and had started on deepening the center channel. After all this time (5-ish months), it's nice to see some actual progress.

Contented myself with a little work on the guitar neck last night, getting two coats of Tru Oil on it. Going to try to get 2-3 thin coats a night until gets to where it's smooth and comfortable. I'm not going for a fancy thick mirror finish, so I'm hoping to get that done by the weekend, get it attached to the body, and do the hardware and electronics assembly.

Good to hear from L4N again.

PG&E just announced it will begin turning off electricity tomorrow at 4AM to approximately 645,456 customers in over 30 counties in Northern California. High winds and low humidity are the reason; their power lines are poorly maintained and could fall and start a wildfire. In those conditions, it could easily build into another Camp Fire sized disaster.

So far, these Public Safety Power Shutoffs, as PG&E has dubbed them, have gotten plenty of complaints from the ten thousand or so folks that have been effected by them. It will be interesting to see the reaction now that they've spread to the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento, two of California's major metropolitan areas.

With no electricity to power the pumps that move the water firefighters use to battle the flames, PG&E's choice to use Public Safety in the name of these events is ironic to say the least. How many will die when the traffic lights go dark, when critical medical equipment ceases to function, or when people eat food spoiled in refrigerators that have gone warm?

They'll turn it on again when they decide it's safe to do so. This will be the third PSPS for this area. The most recent one started at 10PM on 10/5/2019 and lasted until about 1:30PM the following day. The winds stopped blowing at about noon, presumably removing the risk that prompted the PSPS in the first place. 10,000 or so people in three sparsely populated Northern California counties were effected. This next one will effect 65 times the number of people, and cover 10 times the number of counties. I think I read that after the last one, PG&E inspected over 3,000 miles of power lines, mostly by flying helicopters at low altitudes along the right of ways. They'll probably make a similar boast about how many lines they'll have to inspect this time around so we feel sorry for them having to work so hard, and at that time we might get a better idea how long it'll take before everybody's lights work again. After all, how many helicopters are available on such short notice? It could be just a day. My guess is they'll inspect the major metro areas first, leaving those of us out in the sticks to fend for ourselves for who knows how long.

short trip downtown to pick up replacement hydraulic hose I wrecked on my grapple by backing up without unhooking the lines.
Major sigh and :ashamed:
Thought I would drop it off and get it in few days, guy disappears in the back and ten minutes later comes back with new hose.
Nice to have a while you wait service. 600 psi line, about 45 bucks with ends.

Now I need to bend the mounting plate for the forward hydraulics on FEL, put a hurting on that too. Still usable, just a reminder of
my poor driving.
