Good morning!!!!

Winter will be over before we know it.

NO NO NO, say it is not true, we have been waiting all Summer for Winter.

Good morning! A wonderful 58˚F but heading to 83˚F with the short tease of a cold front fading fast.

We are heading into Indian territory in the trail blazing group. There are old rock burn mounds and arrow heads made from Georgetown Blue.
Georgetown Flint comes from the Cretaceous Austin limestone/Chalk on the eastern edge of the Edwards plateau in the vicinity of Georgetown, Texas. The Georgetown material occurs in a narrow range of grayish colors, of which the steel-blue/grey glassy translucent variant known as "Georgetown Blue" is the highest quality for knapping. In fact it's probably one of the best quality materials anywhere in North America and is highly sought after.

We used the new Kubota utility vehicle that converts from a large dump bed to a small bed and two forward facing seats and a JD with a shredder and a spotter. The spotter is the one that goes in front of the brush hog removing large rocks and wire - (that would be me) - not seat but feet time. But being experience in untangling wire from a brush hog blade from country life I know my job was the most important.

Fire Wise community meeting this morning with official type fire people from the City and State. This afternoon the hearing aid people at Costco will program my hearing aids to pick up the T-Cell frequency which is in the buildings here in the neighborhood and a lot of public building.

Sadomo good thought on the filter, thats #1 in the trouble shooting and it is fine and running good in the in the door water supply after the filter. The filter is only 2 months old also. We change it out every 6 months. But I think it's too late, instead of starting to change out parts to see which one is faulty we went looking at larger refrigerators yesterday. The way we eat we need one with more room for produce anyway. I do not think we need a refrigerator that writes a grocery list and sends it to your phone.

Good Morning!!!! 66F @ 4:30AM. Mostly sunny. High 86F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

We're still under a Fire Watch, which will probably be upgraded to another Red Flag Warning early tomorrow morning when the winds are forecasted to roar. Hang onto your hat time, and keep the generator handy. The one here is full of gas, the oil level looks good, and I'll probably head into town today to top up a 5 gallon can with E0 and run some other errands. This next goat rope, PG&E plans to shut the power off in more than 30 counties in Northern California, including Napa and Sonoma. There are a lot of wealthy, powerful people in those counties, and I'm guessing the stuff'll hit the fan when the plug gets pulled. This should be interesting.:stirthepot:

More time on the van yesterday chasing wires, and found one out of place, and another broken off at the main connector to the engine computer. Bad solder joint on what should have been a crimp, another example of poor workmanship exorcised. For the second time, the engine just quit while it sat idling; now I'm shopping for a spare engine computer and researching places that will rebuild them.

While working at the workbench the past few days, I've heard odd rustling noises behind the tool panel above the back of the bench. Today the surface of the panel looked odd, and when I poked it with my finger, it went through. It's Masonite, and that shouldn't happen, and when I pulled the piece away it revealed the telltale tracks of termites. So today I'll see if I can find a reputable pest control company to come out and take a look, hopefully one that can control the infestation with baits instead of tenting the whole house.

Got one return phone call from sending out a volley of enquiries for an electrician, and the caller wanted to sell me a complete solar power rig. He wasn't well versed in generators, either, so I'll keep looking rather than let him learn on my dime.

Glad to hear it's been a mostly smooth summer, Bill. How much longer will you be out playing road warrior?

Save some for later, Thomas. Yer makin' the rest of us look bad!

I was out crawling around in the gravel yesterday, too, WNG, tying the tarp back onto the fire truck, this time running the ratchet straps under the truck instead of over it. Wished I'd have been wearing a long sleeve shirt and long pants; those rocks are hard! Probably should have put a tarp down first, which is what I usually do when I'm changing oil on the driveway...

I admire your approach to winter, Eric, but it will be nice to get some rain here and stop worrying so much about fire...

Hope those on the mend continue to do so...

Thomas, I miss the "slow roll" in your morning post. Could you add them back please.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 41° with clear skies this morning. Heading to 68° with lots of sun. Good visit for Sassy at Vet. No need to rush getting her fixed until next year. Did not get lawn mowed yesterday. Maybe today. Did get Trak-Vac ready for when leaves star falling. Going to be a good day to work on projects outside. Hope to get chipper on tractor. No rush. This time last year I was working hard to get all the fall projects done before my shoulder surgery. I have another month before fall projects need to be completed. Slow change of colors in trees.

LS, Buckeye, sorry to hear about you insurance problems. Not much help on how to solve them. Sending prayers and good wishes.

Hawkeye, hope your back gets better and you can get deck finished next spring.

Looking, good to hear from you.

Drew, did you get motorhome under cover yet?

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

52° and a little wet. Didn’t get too much rain.

Don, I slow roll out of bed each morning. Then check my balance and slow shuffle to the bathroom.

Slept late due to up late watching the yankee sweep, so hands and feet extra tingly this morning.

Got outpatient PT evaluation this morning so gotta get moving.

Good Morning. It's a very comfortable 67° this morning and forecast says only 84° this afternoon. Forecast also says 93° tomorrow and 94° for Thursday ... groan.

I got lawn around the hose mowed and trimming done yesterday. I enjoy reading others talk about "mowing for last time this year" but unfortunately that's not our reality. Mowing goes on year round.

I do need to check the blades on the ZT soon and sharpen or replace them to get ready for leaf fall from the post oaks. The Oregon Gator blades, when sharp, do a nice job chopping up the leaves, very fine.

It's probably time to do the same on the 84" rear finish mower as well. I found some very reasonably priced ($51/set) on the Oregon web site and installed them back in April. The OEM blades are over $75 each.

Hope everyone has a productive "hump day eve" today.

Prayers to all.

Good morning all;
Temp is about 28F and there was another hard frost last night. It is sunny out.

I have a personal trip to North Bay to do today.

Every year (over age 65) in order to hang onto my Class 'A' license (CDL) I must pass a medical. So realistically speaking as long as I can pass the medical I will be driving for a living. My plan is to be driving in the year 2045, It is called the Freedom 99 plan.
I may not have my 2001 Freightliner until then, but I am looking at a 2019 Barn Yard Cadillac with the Cummins ISX15 motor and an 18 spd manual transmission.
My summer work was a little shorter than previous years, but I still delivered 660,000 US gallons of product at 10,800 gallons/load. I sure am happy that I get paid by the hour rather than by the load.

Have a good day all

Good morning to all! Low of 45 this morning, going up to 72. Beautiful fall weather. The weather guessers are predicting a hard freeze Thursday and Friday nights. That should trigger some trees to change color!

BEF, be careful fixing that GDO! Don't overdo it.... I think you are correct that the motor just doesn't have enough oomph left.

LNF, glad you had a great summer on the road.

Drew, any more refinements of your upcoming RV trip in the spring?

Wngsprd, that would be a loooonnngg hike! Is Coco up to it?

Don, your being just as bad as Thomas....your both making the rest of us look bad.... I thought for sure you guys are retired.....
Ohh, I see now.... Your getting RE-TIRED....:D

THANK YOU to all for the positive thoughts and prayers. They are helping. I just look at all the good things that are happening and the bad things just fade to the back.

Here is a pic of the beautiful sunrise this morning. Everyone have a great day! Prayers sent for all.
