Good Morning!!!! 58F @ 10:30AM. Sunshine this morning. Becoming mostly cloudy with showers developing this afternoon. High around 65F. Winds S at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 50%.

Well, we did get some drizzle yesterday morning, but it stopped around noon when my buddy was set to leave. Said he had a dry ride to the campground, but around dinner time was watching lightning and rain approach. Hope he didn't get too wet, but he was crowing a bit about a new Swedish tent so it will be interesting to hear how he made out. Enjoyed a glass of wine with my body shop neighbor that evening, and watched what was probably the same storm move across the southern sky. Lots of lightning and black clouds...

I'd be interested in reading your get-in-and-out-of-the-looney-bin list, Jay. Never know when something like that will come in handy.

I feel your pain on the road condition problems, Drew. We pay huge taxes on our fuel and "enjoy" some of the worst roads in the country. And I watch money being dumped on roads that are just fine while others in the same area are so bad I'm surprised I haven't bent a wheel on them yet.

Got the new tire mounted on the red bike after moving the exhaust collector a quarter inch to the front. Nothing a big rubber hammer couldn't fix. Then took a nice nap; about time I enjoyed one of those.

Did some shopping for a shipping container, or two, this morning, and found a place selling 10'x8' ones. I'm thinking that might be a good way to shelter the generator and the balance of the solar power system components, though I'm not sure how to handle the heat that the generator is sure to produce. Might be looking at installing some ember proof vents, and not sure they'll work on a shipping container. More homework needed.

Thanks for the reminder on the grease, Scrambler, got some fork lift and FEL work planned for today...

Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend!

79 for a low, forecast to be going for 93 today, but it's already 94. They say this month will be a record high for September. Of course some other parts of the country are having the opposite. The younger of my two brothers and his wife spend the summers in the middle of Washington state and the winters in the middle of Texas. I got the following email from him yesterday morning.

I screwed up by not leaving last week when it was nice up here. Highs in the mid 70s and lows in low 50s and I didn't see the cold front coming.
This morning it was 34 and tonight it is supposed to get to 30 but it did get up to 45 today. NWS says snow 2. to 5 inches at 2500 to 3500 ft altitude and 10-12 inches above that.
So I should be OK as I can get out of here without going over 2000 ft by taking the canyon road and after I get across the Columbia River there will be no snow to worry about.
I do not want to drive that motorhome in snow towing the trailer cause it has been too long since I drove in snow very much.

He's been back down south for a lot of years, but lived in Anchorage for about 25 years, raced snowmobiles, and drove trucks years ago.

We park in the library lot, but library is closed when we go.

Just left friends open house, just north of Gettysburg. Their neighbor restores JD tractors. Puts them out on display on nice days. IMG_1647.JPG

Walking the dog, dropping my leaf/clipping bagger(s) from the rider mower, hooking up the garden cart, and discovering two flat tires was the extent of my physical efforts today.

I would have stayed awake w/o the Prednisone watching Buffalo really rattle NE play- and special team-wise today. It was a close, decent game. It's too bad the Bill's lost.

I probably spent most of my time today meal planning and recipe searching.

Wifey's cooking split pea soup for dinner. I got it easy today :)

As forecast it has rained all afternoon. Neighbor sent me a text. Telling me the Playhouse was still standing. Better be because I was not going out in todays cold rain. Gave me time to figure out how the InstaPot works. Did a simple chicken cacciatore. It was edible. Looks like I will be using it for more meals in the future.
