72°F and .01 inches rain.

Back up to cottage with my rough plans to verify and tweak so I can draft a materials list.

Got last of major brushhogging areas done yesterday except the edges that require backing.

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

Phil, great pic, leaves turning color, all good

four hours of working on machinery, got blades sharpened on both LP finish mower and Gravely, lot of crud falling in my face, all normal.
Was going to do the JD but simply ran out of energy. LP blades are heavy and after holding them up for awhile, my forearms were talking to me.
Gravely blades were little toys by comparison. I was noticing some whispies after I mowed the roadsides, knew it was time.
While the mowers were up in the air I always spend some extra time greasing underneath.
Hot shower, lots of soap to get the grease off, and a quiet afternoon planned.

Wifey surprised me recently about a new found interest in Plant Based Diets.. I am now going through my food files and recipe books for vegetarian meals we like (maybe add/subtract chicken or fish as desired). Are there any decent cookbooks that you recommend?

Go on-line and you can get a few recipes from the following before you buy the books. Here are the ones we find we most reference:

"Straight Up Food" by Cathy Fisher

Had her carrot cake made into mini muffins last night at games night.

"Happy Herbivore light and lean" by Lindsay Nixon.

"The Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease Cookbook" by Ann Crile Esselstyn.

Phil- A really nice looking home and property. I like your rock work. Nice finish raking job on the smoothed out dirt work. Thanks for sharing.

I spend a lot of time managing and moving various rock piles. There are always rocks to move around this place and "creatively" place somewhere.

Following a killing frost I have to dig out/remove all the flagstone that I laid down in the garden years ago to highlight my now long dead asparagus patch. It looked ok when the patch was active and producing; now it's an overgrown eyesore :( of unused garden space. This mistake will not be repeated.

Don- Thanks. I had pulled up a few interesting recipes on the internet and got interested in cookbooks and you are the "Go To Guy" for all things plant based.

I missed #12 PSU trounce Maryland last night  :(

I hope everyone is having a decent Saturday.

Never could figure out why MD and Rutgers joined the big10.

Slept in after staying up late downloading apps.

Got outside a little. Warm out.

Got other garage door light up on wall.

"..... Never could figure out why MD and Rutgers joined the big10."- BEF.

I thought the same thing when PSU did it. They looked poorly the first few years, then the Sandusky related NCAA penalties, then JoePa leaving figuratively and literally :( (maybe helped play scripting and calling) and then years wondering which team would show up. This year they have been fairly consistent with great defense and special teams play.

I think it comes down to the money.

I can not believe that I missed the game watching the Battle of the AL East losers (BoSox, Orioles) and the biggest loser was revealed  No joy in Beantown. Had I not been wired on Prednisone and involved in some politicized craziness on another thread here on TBN I would have been noding off by the 2nd inning. At least I believe that I did not really PO anyone too badly if at all.

It looks like last nigh's game is repeating itself :(. I am sure that many BoSox players already have tee times set up somewhere on some fancy golf courses.

Wifey just came in from picking our very own peaches. They look pretty good for peaches grown in NE. I see peach cobbler in my future:cool:

We beat the wildlife this Season. :D

These are Reliance peaches. This tree has been dying for ~30 years and still producing.

FWIW:

"About Reliance Peach Trees
They can be grown in USDA zones 4-8, perfect for northern gardeners. Reliance was created in New Hampshire in 1964 and is still one of the cold hardiest of peaches without sacrificing taste. The medium to large sized fruit has a nice blend of sweet and tart." - internet source

They are pretty good.

End of September and 81 deg I'll take it.
Been a busy week starting fall projects started by pulling my sons jetski and the jet boat out of the lake. Washed and waxed both ski winterized and put away boat dropped off to be wrapped for winter. One more to go the pontoon but like to keep it in to cruise the lake with fall colors.
Cut the grass for last time this year at one house removed, power washed mower deck and stored for the winter. Sending John Deere off for 250 he service next week so I'll be sure to get it back to mount snowblower and plow. Washed and waxed ready for service.
Took my avalanche to mechanic for service asked him to check and repair rear camera told him I think a bad wire in the tailgate. When I picked up the truck he told me he wiggled the wires and camera went on and off think bad wire "No S**t" that's what I told you he didn't have the time to repair it big job tracing wires he said. Sure is a big job I went home pulled apart tailgate found the broken wires put everything back together less than 45 min.
Don congrats on new truck I'm still looking but after washing and waxing the avalanche it's looking more like a keeper. Deceptive as a description of car dealers is kind.

They are pretty good.

I can't recall every eating a peach that wasn't good, but of course some are better than others. Yours are sure pretty, and while I never heard of that variety before, I'll bet it's sure good.
