New garage door opener works. Turns out the 2 openers use different opener technology.

Had next to last home PT today. They spend more time typing notes than actually working with me. She wanted to see if i could get in the car. i practically walked out, and got in the normal way, feet first. Then went for a walk thru the yard, and up 3 steps to porch.
Then i showed her i could walk up the steps.

What i cant do is do these things very long. I tire out. I explained i still have nerve pain, etc.

Installed light kit for my first garage door opener. Ive had it 7yrs. Installed on wall, cant get to ceiling. Now need to find if 2nd opener had a light kit, thought it did, but couldnt find it.

Looked on my amazon order, 2nd opener has light kit also. Detective work to find it and the remote.

Found it, last place i looked....

Want to remove wheelchair ramp before winter, so i can use that side of garage.

It really sounds like you're getting back your normal life one day at a time. I thought about calling it a "hiccup" in life, but that's way too little....Maybe I should call it your personal earthquake, that also shook those around you.

We have a permanent camp, in our own Canyon, about 10 miles south of Hunt, on Rocky Creek.

That sounds nice. It is beautiful around there. I did not drive hwy 39 the last 2 times I've been out there, but have driven it in the past....many, many moons ago.

I sympathise with you Drew. I have a full farming policy and have recently been made aware of other limitations that mean I am going to have to turn down requests for help when someone gets stuck in mud on the caravan site at the top of our drive, even if it only takes a few minutes to pull them out.

The insurer told me that because getting to the site requires me to travel on a public road (even though only for 100 yards), I would also have to pay full commercial truck annual road tax, even though my Iseki is normally exempt from this, as it is already registered for road use as an agricultural vehicle. Worst of all, I would have clean out my storage and tractor diesel tanks and from now on only use road taxed diesel, for not just that 100 yards, but for ALL my other agricultural use too.

Sometimes laws seem to come down hardest on those who do their best to do the right thing.

Remind me to put it in 4WD if I ever have to come over to your place. I've taken our large tractor out in a rainstorm to help a car that slid off the road. Didn't think twice about it....Karma? Probably foolish. Here in Texas, you can drive your tractor to your other farms nearby.

It sounds like our "walking wounded" are getting better. Prayers and thoughts. Ron, thinking of you. J, prayers. Don't over prednisone. Hawkeye, take it easy.

Still hot down here too PJ. Only we haven't had any cool weather to get us spoiled yet this month.

My middle daughter birthday today. She got a new kindle tablet, and some other stuff. My wife is lobbying to get cookies tomorrow at Panera Bread....have you guys ever got stuck buying a cookie there? Something like $2.50 per cookie or more. I told the wife for 7 bucks, we can bake a whole batch of chocolate chips.

Wifey has an affinity for chocolate topped donuts. Don't tell her I told y'all. It's her weakness. :)

Dave, nice pad there!

Good evening all. 75F this morning, clear sky, moderate wind. Partly cloudy day, wind on the gusty side, high temp 91F HI 97. Started with bike ride this morning, some puttering. Nap, then changes tire on bike to gravel, clean, lube chain, set computer up for new tire size and test ride. Program route in GPS and go to stepdaughters for dinner.
Buppies hope skin surgery goes well.
Eric sad state of affairs. Even if you don't take money for helping pull the caravans out?
Drew the thought of tractor racing gave me a chuckle.
Hawkeye always hard to "take it easy " when there is stuff to do. go luck with recocevery.
Jay, just realize the Zebra mussel has been hard to control. The lake I live on does not have it yet, and no paperwork, just a chain on your boat when it leave the main gate without being locked on the trailer.
Drew, I hit about 4 with a full thyroid, backed down to 2 a month later.
Rick, glad you had a good time in the hill country, welcome back, and now to catch up around the house :)
Randy nice update, alway nice to take the Monte Carlo out right?
Kyle, nice update
prayers for all.

Got phone about setup’. Some things frustrating, harder than on Android.

Buppies, hope next skin removal goes good.

Another wet day for us. It has been like this all week and has got me thinking about how I use the space I have that is warm and dry in winter.

At the moment I have a single bench for woodwork and a bit of metalwork. Oily metal and wood are not good companions. Also I have a good bench drill for wood, but it struggles with anything but the smallest holes in steel. I've decided to move out the drill and all woodworking to the next room. First task is to make a new sturdy woodworking bench and put it on castors so it can be moved out of the way. That will leave me with space for a small lathe one day and a new drill, just for metal. I've been explaining to my wife that vertical milling machines are very good for drilling holes ... ;)

Good to hear most are getting getting back to better health.

Not so good to hear that you can't take a vacation without checking emails for your employer Hawkeye. That is not right. Hope your back soon starts to ease up.

Good morning all and a good weekend for all.
Hot, hot, hot, Texas stop sending that heat here please...
74 going up to low 90's today, will be like this all week until next Friday when weather breaks.

Am continuing to work on outside painting while I can.

Buppies sorry they carved you up, hope they got it all, sometimes you wonder why they had to take so much
to get "good margins". You have been through the ringer with this the last few years. Heal quickly

Toppop, did you get the new crate engine in the Monte Carlo? Now you have been a bit distracted...
I think we can all see you driving along with the window down and a big smile on your face.

I'm afraid with today's smart phones there is a misconception that everyone should be available anytime.
No. It's why we turn our phones off in churches....and should be able to on vacations.

Morning everyone! Low 50's heading to the middle 70's today. Possible rain later tonight.
Glad everyone seems to be on the mend.
Leaves are already starting to cover the ground around here. Will hopefully finish the stone wall project today. (will grab some pics)
Need to help the neighbor move some dirt and then help a relative change a faucet later in the day.
Stay safe and well all!
