Good morning!!!!

Checking In:

A sunny 40ºF for today’s low; 64ºF and sunny presently; and I anticipate a mixed sun and clouds high 60ºF’s later. My bedroom was 56ºF this AM and all was good. I felt cold, added a comforter, and the sweats started  :(. On the + my coughed up stuff is now clear and the coughing is less frequent and less intense. Discovered that our kitchen sink was really clogged. I spent most of the morning plunging the drain. The water is now freely draining, but I am not sure if it’s because I cleared the drain pipe or cracked it. I do not see overt leaks in the basement Plumber called. :(

”…. JB, just because you survived without seeing a doctor, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have seen the doctor! You keep rolling those dice you’re bound to hit snake eyes!”- Randy Thank you and I appreciate your concerns. It seems that care givers tend to be rather challenging as care receivers/acceptors. I am no exception. :embarrassed: That was my usual MO in the past. That practice I am sure contributed to the BOOP. I see the GI Doc/NP tomorrow morning. He was involved in my care throughout the BOOP experience and the autoimmune craziness.. That’s Step #1. Step #2 completed- I have an appointment to see my PC/NP this coming Monday. Honestly this reoccurrence of the night sweats is troubling. :(

“…. plus it means I don't have to go bush hog tall dry fields.”- Billy Another + is that one does not have to deal with cleaning out the air filters and radiators as often. One year I did the rotary cutting in a snow storm. That was pretty  even though the traction was occasionally questionable on the slope. I am sorry to read about your FIL my + thoughts wishes and prayers for him, your MIL, you, and the rest of your family. My experiences both personally and professionally with Hospice services in a longterm care settings was always +. Good luck.

RNG- Your challenges with PG&E has become newsworthy here. The management of PG&E should be held criminally liable and serve time in some “Big House” with substandard heating and no A/C.

Roy- I am happy to read that you are feeling better.

My + thoughts and prayers.

I think a more appropriate punishment would be for them to spend the summer clearing brush from around their power distribution sites and from underneath their power lines. That should give them several new insights as to the nature and magnitude of the problems they (and their ratepayers) face, as well as a good dose of hard work, sunburn, and poison oak.

36F this morning, should hit mid 60s today, cold coming in, expecting snow and freezing temps this weekend, probably not much snow in valleys, but the local hills will likely see at least a dusting.. Hoping chiropractor has good success on back today, was miserable last night after trying for an hour to work on deck (measuring and marking the layout, making sure my plan is workable).. after a short time getting up and down, my back was done.. no amount of ice or advil touched it.. settled down around 10:30pm, slept pretty well. Back feels pretty good this morning..

Stay safe, prayers for those in need

Edit: got back from chiro, a bit sore, but adjustments are working. Bad news, I have to take it easy, especially no lifting and especially especially no lifting and twisting.. Think reaching down and picking up some scrap from old deck, standing up and turning to throw it in back of truck to haul away... and then unloading it.. grabbing and turning to throw it on pile.. No wonder I had issues a few days, she said that is what causes the problem.. of course my wife is in the middle of painting the back of the house and wanted some help moving scaffolding (not any more, she is on a ladder that she can move herself now).. It wouldn't be a problem normally to wait a couple of days, but we are out of good weather, today will be the last day painting, perhaps until spring.

Good Morning!!!! 92F @ 11:30AM. Sunny. High 102F. Winds NW at 10 to 20 mph.

The winds overnight never topped 25 MPH here, well below the levels they were during the day yesterday. Humidity remains at 37%, relatively high for this time of year. Perhaps conditions were worse in other parts of the service area, but none the less the power's been off here since 3AM and there's no sign of it coming back anytime soon. Though two helicopters have buzzed the powerline right of way across the property this morning, so maybe they're planning on restoring service this afternoon. Communication between the company and the ratepayers hasn't exactly been timely or clear on matters like this. We're given a URL for an outage map, but when the power is off (I'm running the generator now, using the satellite Internet connection), cell service is extrmemely slow, and the fancy graphics used in the outage maps won't load on the screen. So perhaps the PG&E BoD should be forced to move into one of the more active fire areas, goodness knows there's plenty of room in Paradise, so that they can also experience the joys of (literally) being kept in the dark by their own company.

Some confusion earlier on my part led to me cooking breakfast on a propane camp stove instead of in the microwave, but now that I know what breakers have to be on for generator power to reach the rest of the house, everything's fine. Once the laptops are recharged and the 'fridge have run another hour, I'll turn the generator off and get back to some peace and quiet.

It sounds as though you and your wife have been preparing for this eventuality for a long time, Wng, and I hope your FIL is treated well while he's in hospice. They were a godsend for both my parents.

And I hope those on the recovery list continue to do so.

All the best from the dark side...

Strangely that sounds like our FireWise group.:D

Wng, prayers for your extended family.

Gas here is $2.24 regular, but $3.39 premium. So the cost of driving a higher performance car is about 33% higher at the pump. Don would know. (I like those Stingers).

The Stinger uses Regular. If you want a little more HP you can use premium. If you always use regular they do recommend that every 6,000 miles to put a bottle of Techron in the tank.

Good evening all. 76F for the start, clear sky, calm wind. Clouds increased to partly cloudy, wind moderate with brick gusts, high temp was 94F HI 104. Dew point will start trending down next week, along with temps easing down coming closer to fall temps. Men's meeting in the morning, followed by bike ride, rinse Volagi off then take it to Denton and have a different guy take a crack at welding it. Guesstimated time frame is 1 month :(. On the way home stopped at Canes chicken, the order taker did not understand the difference between a order of fries and a order of chicken tenders and we got 5 orders of fries not 5 pieces of chicken .
Drew, sorry to hear about your friends, gas prices here are bout 2.23 a gallon for E10, have not priced E0 since Coop where I got it is now done for new tanks and pumps. I would thing they would know if there is a balance problem at tire install.
Roy good to hear some pain level improvement.
David thanks for explaining Touch disease.
Billy sorry to hear about FIL, when we got hospice for mom they though she would last less than a week, and they were right. prayers sent
Don did whipper enjoy beating the sun up? good luck with getting the trail marked in correct location :D
prayers for all

I might do a texas mini vacation on a AR college trip sometime, maybe let the rest of the family be unimpressed by the alamo.
My son would like to see a baseball game.

Would be neat to see a few TBNers along the way.

C'mon down! Astros are playing all "away" games until the playoffs.

Rangers are moving to a new stadium for next season. After the last game this year, they have a ceremony planned to move home plate to their new stadium.

Prayers for all, Randy, BEF, Ron and Family, J and others. Hawkeye's back problems.

Don, Techron is good stuff.

Does anyone use anything like Armor All? Is there anything better? I have faded plastic moldings on this golf cart I'm helping to sell. Is Nu-vinyl still available?

?

It would be next spring probably. The best time would be when he gets out of school in May, but we have the car so full we hate to stop too many places on those trips. Our other trip down is Easter weekend.

Went to bible study tonight for first time since june. When i started home PT i was told no leaving the house except for Dr appts, or i could lose home PT.
Was nice to see people. I only used the walker, as parking is close.

Yankees cant hit against the Rays.
