bunnies bunnies bunnies everywhere
and worse, in the garden....
was watering, walking through coastal bermuda hay used for mulch, and out pops a bunny.
Then another, each one heading off in different directions, then another and another. Nest of fluffy fur underneath.
Oh my...took me almost two hours while watering to catch the last one, herding it out of the garden with a
water hose. The little ones fit right through the holes. Momma won't, and when I found her in there a week or two, thought I was
done when i shooed her out. No, she left me little presents.

95 degrees, soaked through my clothes, got the garden watered, came in to cool off and pick up house for carpet cleaners tomorrow.

Saw on the news this morning that there have been 328 tornadoes already this year. Scary stuff. 9 tornadoes in Ohio just last night. It was reported the state of Ohio only averages 3 per season! Our local news reported there was one close to us (about 40 miles away, out here that's close) too close for comfort. I did see that dark cloud moving past us to the south.
.
Living close to OH I had to question the 3 average for them. The average is 19. While some of the worst tornadoes happen in the tornado belt. OK, KA, AR, MO and others. The most average number of tornadoes per year hit TX. Not good no matter where a tornado hits. The average number of tornadoes for USA is over 1200 per year. Tornadoes in the United States - Wikipedia
But when you have news reports that pass wrong info?

I was thinking same thing. The map looks like In. and W. Ohio are in heavy tornado area, especially this time year.

RNG- Interesting picture of that cove. I still question the logic, but when it comes to Big Business and/or Big Government I have low expectations of rational thought.

Check- There’s something mesmerizing about campfires in the woods. Thanks for sharing.

Paul- Thanks for the information. I bought the .357 from a PO. He also recommended judicious choice of rounds. I do not fire enough rounds/year to worry about frame/cylinder failure.

“…. But when you have news reports that pass wrong info?”- RonJH. Some local TV ProMets have little to no real meteorological training.

David- I am happy that the birthday celebrations were a success.

Question authority. Always!

I don't think you have anything to worry about with respect to a catastrophic failure with your Smith, Jay. But as Paul points out, a steady diet of maximum loads will batter the cylinder against the forcing cone, be hard on the cone itself, and widen the cylinder notches. In other words, you'll have a formerly nice, accurate revolver with a lot of slop in it. Nothing wrong with 148 grain wadcutters for regular practice; you can shoot those day'n'night with no appreciable wear. But save those Buffalo Bore loads for bears, or, er buffalo?

I can't remember who told me (maybe on TBN) but several years ago, when I had a nice garden, and the local cottontails also liked it, I was told that Blood Meal spread around the perimeter would keep them out. Of course after every rain, it needed to be reapplied. I guess it worked because I never saw a rabbit in the garden again, and the grass around the garden sure was pretty and green.:)

The hot of the day is worse time to water, most evaporates. Morning or evening is better.
