Good morning!!!!

Glad all of you that traveled over the holiday made it home safe and sound. There was a "zero tolerance" enforcement of the drunk driving laws here, and hundreds state wide now have big legal troubles to deal with. Good to get them off the road, but wish people would just quit trying to get away with it to begin with.

RNG, on the drive home, 460 miles, I counted fifteen cars pulled over and lights blazing. Mostly speeding I'm sure and morning hours are likely not high drunk driving times.

fridge stocked, now out to pick whatever needs picking and spend the rest of the day watering.

Good morning all,

50 right now and raining a little. Not sure of the forcast, my guess is rain. Wife and I went to Logan Utah yesterday to pick up a few things. It must have rained lots while we were gone, puddles everywhere. Alfalfa is looking great, just needs some sun and warmth to really start shooting up.

Prayers for all, have a nice day.

It's 34° this morning with snow showers and about 2 inches on the ground. We had a few lite rain showers with a high in the low 50's yesterday. It looks like today will be cloudy with a 60% chance of showers. I hope the forecast is right for the rest of the week. They are calling for more sun with highs in the upper 60's.

Was up talking to a neighbor yesterday and told him I had bent the bumper on my camp trailer last fall. He said he had a trailer he was going to get rid of that was falling a part and asked me if I wanted the bumper off of it. We cut it off and how I have another project to work on this summer. A little work and it should be as good as new.

Not sure what I'll be doing today. I sure wish spring would get here.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend and good start to the rest of the week.
CWB.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!

A cloudy 49ºF for today’s low; a cloudy 53ºF presently and probably today’s high temperature. I anticipate rain starting soon and lasting till tomorrow. It looks like alternating days of rain/sun until the weekend which looks to be mostly sunny. It was a quiet and reflective Memorial Day here. Other than walking the dog, starting more herbs, and planning the garden planting I really have no established plan for today.

Drew- I am happy to read that your trip back home went smoothly and you had quality time with your MIL.

Steppenwolfe- Thanks for sharing the picture of your pack. Your dogs look content in the back seat.

Buppies- I am happy to read that you too made it home without incident.

Billy- I got tired of my cheapo grease guns falling apart when I needed them most so I bought a “slightly” better one; a HD Performance Tool® grease gun. The owner’s manual actually acknowledged difficulty loading/pressurizing the first 14.5oz cartridge. I still do not know why/how it actually pressurized, but it’s working.

Thomas- We are also having a bumper year for wild strawberries in our lower field. I usually see a fair amount of blooms, but nothing like this year. I have not mowed anything so far this year due to my D130’s blown HST. I may have to use my rotary cutter on the NH to mow the “lawn.” This has happened 2X before with my rider mowers. The rider sits in the middle of our driveway awaiting pickup by the dealership sometime today.

RNG- Pretty amazing picture of rafted logs. From your post I get the impression the logs are beached in a difficult to access location for harvesting the logs. Is it a “liability” issue or just stupidity?

I hope everyone has a decent day.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Saw on FB there were fatalities yesterday at almost same area, hours apart. Apparently 2nd one was due to racing. But then nothing in paper about it, so maybe bad rumors, i hope..
Edit- found story in a less local news site . first was vehicle accident, 2nd was motorcycle, 19 yo racing...

We got heavy rain this morning, i slept thru it. Bad tornados in west ohio in the night.

Son starts his new job today.

Good morning to all! Low of 36, only up to 68 today. Sunny w/ a light breeze.

Saw on the news this morning that there have been 328 tornadoes already this year. Scary stuff. 9 tornadoes in Ohio just last night. It was reported the state of Ohio only averages 3 per season! Our local news reported there was one close to us (about 40 miles away, out here that's close) too close for comfort. I did see that dark cloud moving past us to the south.

Hopefully, I can get some driveway gravel delivered today. I want to have it spread before the next chances of rain by the end of the week.

I'm having internet/ computer problems again this morning....really :censored::mur::hissyfit: me off... Gotta get off before I break something!

Everyone have a great day! And a later start to the week! Prayers sent.

Good morning. It was 73°F here earlier and clear. Humidity is 95% and forecast is for 93°F this afternoon. No rain expected here before late this week. The high pressure dome, giving the SE high temperatures, is expected to move west next week and cover Texas, and result in most days in the high 90's.

I need to gather up a few tools and parts to fix a few things at our home in Richmond tomorrow. A/C people are coming there to replace the evaporator core on one of the A/C units. It has three Freon leaks and is only a bit over three years old? The warrant cover the evaporator coils but all labor is on us.

We also have a recessed light fixture there, in the entrance way inside the house with a burned out bulb. No problem? Just replace it? Not so fast. The ceiling there, is 18'. Groan! I guess I'll take my HF multi-task ladder?

17 Ft. Type IA Multi-Task Ladder

The house also has three return air filters, two very easy to change but ...... a third one is about 12' above the floor on a sloped ceiling. Every time I replace that filter I have dreams of choking the person that came up with that placement.

Maybe some more pasture cutting later today.

Hope everyone had a restful long weekend and has a productive "Hump Day Eve" today.

Prayers to all.

I asked pretty much that same question on our local Facebook group, and someone posted the location. If you switch to the satellite view, you can actually see logs confined to that cove. It is accessible by road, but the distance from here doesn't make it worth while for me. In fact, it would be hard to find anyplace still on the lake that is any farther away. That's a LOT of Diesel fuel spent moving those logs...

Rain and 50° here, going up to maybe 55. Time to head back to the city.

But I did give it lots of stuff done on the boat house yesterday, and had a nice fire after that took me into the evening.

70°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 89° today. Another front moving through tomorrow should drop temps by 10° for the rest of the week. I'm OK with that.

Saturday was a nice day, and I honestly don't know what happened to the day. It just evaporated. Sunday saw rain most of the day. Yesterday was cloudy on and off, with a nice breeze blowing. Got a little warm (mid-80s), but the breeze made it not bad. Spent a good chunk of the day with the line trimmer finishing off the tall grass between the lake and the road. Hopefully now it will dry out enough that we can mow it. The line trimmer was giving me grief at first, choking itself out with every throttle application. After it warmed up a bit, though, it ran fine. No snakes this time, just a large frog and a bunch of wolf spiders. The tall rubber boots earned their keep as well, sinking at some points well over the top of my feet. It's a marshy mess right now. Glad that's done.

Sounds like everyone had a decent weekend. We grilled a bunch of steaks and brats yesterday evening. Delicious.

Your Model 65 certainly can handle those Buffalo Bore rounds, Jay. However, that company is famous for making very stout loads. I would not recommend feeding a steady diet of them through any K-frame revolver. With judicious marksmanship, I would be comfortable carrying those 180gr .357 loads in black bear country (full disclosure: .357 Magnum is my favorite handgun load).
