Good morning! A shivering misty 56˚F. With days of wetness the back patio is starting to turn green.

Have fun with big blue Ted.

David, the suspense is enticing.

"Market Days" in town to check out today.

Drew, beets and beet greens are the prime ingredients in our best burgers. Warning - you do want to cook them well done or they will bleed.

I awoke to the sound of rain and only a tiny bit of thunder about 4:30 a.m. Fortunately no wind, and almost no breeze. NWS says the rain started just before midnight, but it's light enough that I've only gotten about .55" in more than 7 hours. However, the ground was already saturated. Our younger daughter has bought herself a brand new double wide mobile home (I think they call them "manufactured housing" now-a-days). She's already started paying rent on the site in a mobile home park, paid cash for the new mobile home, small porch for the back, larger covered porch for the front, an 8 x 12 storage building, and a carport. But if it doesn't quit raining, they can't deliver it and set it up for her. More than 8" of rain last month and nearly 4.5" so far this month.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

A mixed sun/clouds 46ºF for today's low, 49ºF presently with conditions unchanged; and a mostly sunny afternoon ~60ºF. Dump run and puttering around outside is today's plan.

I found a couple of recipes this one is typical. For the culinary minded:

Marmot Recipe

1 marmot
1/2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. soda
1/4 c. cooking oil
1/2 tsp. sugar
NOTE:Clean and skin as soon as possible. Remove all sent glands. Cut off head, feet and tail. Cure in cool place by suspending from hook approximately 4 days. When ready to cook, lard according to recipe.

I read somewhere that one should rub the meat down with vodka after dressing;). I would think a shot or two of vodka for the chef prior to prepping is in order.

Dress marmot as for rabbit, removing the small sacs in the back and under the forearm. Soak marmot overnight in salted water to remove wild flavor. Combine flour, salt, pepper and sada; rub into marmot pieces. Brown marmot in hot oil in skillet; sprinkle with sugar. Reduce heat; add 1/2 cup water. Cover; simmer for about 30 minutes or until tender. Remove cover; cook for 10 minutes longer.

Tastes just like chicken:rolleyes:

I bet there is an air fryer recipe.

I hope that everyone is having a decent day.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers.

Good Morning!!!! 61F ! 4:30AM. Abundant sunshine. High around 85F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph.

So I guess BBQed marmot kidneys would be safe, and with enough of the right sauce, appetizing?:confused3: I'll stick with chicken; last night's thighs were delicious.:licking:

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend, Ted gets a dry day to play with his new toy, and David has a big breakthrough!

You'll need lots of Cholula RNG.

Good morning to all! Low of 42, spotty fog this morning, going up to 65. Currently overcast, looks like rain, forcast for showers / storms this afternoon. Better chance of more widespread rain tomorrow.
Just over 1" of rain in the gauge.... Way too soggy to get anything done on the tractor. I will definitely be going over it today, get it in the garage so I can crawl under it.

Eric and Drew, thanks for the tips on the bucket indicator, my old one only protruded above the arm about an inch... This one much higher... I'll look for a small blue ball when I'm at WallyWorld.

Jay, let us know how the marmot recipe turns out... Do you have a smoked marmot recipe? Might be just like pork. In the smoker you could have other meals prepared at the same time... I hear smoked bat is really good....

Now that I totally lost my appetite for breakfast, I'm going to get moving... Off to WallyWorld....

Good Saturday Morning! It's 62°F and overcast this morning. Forecast says 73°F with 40% rain chances.

The weather wizards, that get paid to make guesses, predicted that we would get 8-10" of rain between Wednesday and today? As of right now, total rain has been 1 3/8". However ..... I'm not complaining ....... ground is still very squishy here. We'll need these rains in July and August. Total rain for July/ August 2018 was 3/4".

I'm planning on finishing some east and west porch pressure washing today. The part of the job, that takes time, is all the hand cleaning of the porch ceiling fans.

Kyle .... I ordered a Power Air Fryer Oven, from Sam's this morning. Got a case of McCafe k-cup coffee with the $30 Savings.

LS .... hope you get to try out your tractor this weekend.

Jay ..... I'm told that marmot tastes just like ..... rattle snake?

Blue tennis balls? Who knew?

Eating rats? Who knew?

Everyone please have an excellent weekend.

Prayers to all.

^^^^. Too greasy; like bear.

I was going to post a picture of roast marmot on a bed of greens, but then I noticed the supporting suet(?) Not for the squeemish.

Kyle- That “Project Boat” seems to be in pretty decent shape or at least the visible cushions and hull.

David- I am sorry to read about your newest waterdrill challenge.

A beautiful day shaping up here.
