I've never been in your part of Canada, but I have driven across western Canada to Alaska three times, and flew up there in a little Cessna once, and I much prefer the cold weather. You can always bundle up to stay warm, but you can't take off enough clothes to stay cool in the summer.

I'm with you Bird. I do not tolerate temperatures above 80° anymore. I can do things in temperatures to 20°. Below that I have so many clothes on I cannot move.

Oh, so true!

ronjhall, my hands tell me when it is too cold to work outside. I cannot work with gloves on unless I am handling either cold steel or firewood.

Buckeye, that picture sure brings a smile to one's face.

had a lovely day outside, tilled the entire potato and collards patch, collards are coming along nicely. Plus installed electric fencing around the entire field, will run wire next week.

My next door neighbor, the fireman, got a really nice lesson/reminder of why doing nice things for one's uncle can
sure pay benefits. His older retired Uncle lives across the road, and often needs a hand with machinery. My neighbor took my tractor over once with the finish mower on it and did the Uncle's whole property, which clearly made an impression.
So what shows up? How about a brand new 3 series JD with loader and disc, which nephew, would you mind storing under your shed?
I don't think he minded at all....

that collard variety is a NC yellow cabbage collard btw.

Happy Birthday BEF's DAD!!!

28 is a pretty big party if you're the cook.... :)

Drew, that looks like Don's work tractor model. Disk on! Nice looking garden pic.

Rick, spring cleanup. My burn pile is so big, I'm afraid to burn it...Might invite the local VFD with some food enticement.

My buddy bought a pellet BBQ pit at lowes for $600, says it does a good job but he needs to take notes about what temps and for how long on different types of meats. It can also cook with radiance heat IIRC.

Had to make 3 stops to get wood for the chicken run. Local place had no small pressure treated sizes. FWIW, Home depot's price on 2x4x8' pressure treated was $3.67 while Lowes was $4.37 and HD's wood looked a tad better visually.

Finally got home about 2pm. Cut the individual pieces. Putting it together with wood screws. I predrill the 1st side and screw into the 2nd piece of wood. It takes much longer, and much more strength. Got the 2 main sides done. Then picked up the barn a bit. Took 3 ibuprofen and now it's 7pm. Need to get back out there to finish the ends and top.
