Mulched trails in the morning and tractor work in the gardens in the afternoon, nice day!

Hiking meeting this afternoon also - We have a record 540 members, but only about a hundred at the meeting where the Austin hiking trail group gave a presentation on their trail project-Zilkler Park to Lady bird Johnson’s wildflower center- 30 miles of trails. The trail will eventually head to SanMarcus and then San Antonio. Home - Violet Crown Trail

It's not going to north to Georgetown? Nice trail.

Made a trip back to Virginia Beach yesterday early...my sister had to take my mom to the emergency room with chest pains...she has a pacemaker but has had no other heart problems...all tests checked out okay and she is back home...my wife came down later to stay with her. Very relieved.

David, bad luck, these things happen. If you haven't already, tape a plastic bag over to keep dirt from blowing in.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 23° with moon lit skies this morning. Heading to 47° with pm rain. Dr visit went OK. PSA is still low. C is still there but as long as PSA stays low no treatment planned. Another MRI planned in one year. Got trees trimmed and all branches on pile ready for chipper. Still have other branches to collect in back fields on another day. Back at fender project today.

Drew, good luck with test. I failed that part of test. Not really. But getting off coffee made me sick each time I tried it. Today, I could do it without any problems.

David, hope you get tractor part and fixed soon.

Mostly, missing data on a spreadsheet. :smiley_aafz: Time to go for another ride.

Eric, sorry to hear about Lamb. Will it be OK. Our dog does OK with one eye. But it cost a lot of money.

Buppies, be careful. Hope Dr visit tomorrow goes good.

Wngsprd, good news on your mom.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

Drew, I hope they get your tractor in a usable situation.

Sadamo, I hope you get your tractor back to tractoring.

Down to 24 now, 52 later. Tired of these cold nights.

Good day and good wishes.

Almost had a good day. Actually it was a very good day up until time I managed to break the tractor. Removing the stumps from the bushes I’ve been mowing in the field out by the driveway. Managed to go over one and broke the hydraulic oil filter assembly. Tractor went back about another 10 feet, FEL went to ground and tractor just stayed in place - no hydraulics at all. A quick peak underneath confirmed it. Hydro fluid dripping and an empty spot where the filter should have been. Found filter a couple feet from tractor right next to last root ball I had dislodged. Closer inspection revealed I managed to break off the casting the filter screws onto. Filter dented slightly. Sadly I was within slight of finish, maybe 30 feet from completion.
New assembly on order but no idea when I’ll receive it.
Would like to find a way to bypass filter just so I can drive tractor to better area to work on.

Hope you get it repaired soon and w/o too much trouble.

26 now, 55 later and some rain. Supposed to be decent weekend.

Time for another cup of coffee. Slept good again, but just feel the need for another cup. Maybe the first cup tasted too good.

Thought yesterday was going to be quiet...seems sales had other plans. Had to spend most of the morning and part of the afternoon with a steel mill service company. But looks like it will be worth it. They will likely order a number of machines this year.

Well.....better get my head ready for work

Everyone have a safe and good day
Rich, I saw where this weekend's Flat Track is going to have a Bultaco Astro race, with a lot of past champions. I would love to be there to hear and smell it. Oh how I love the smell of castor oil burning. :)

29 going to 55.

Yesterday was frosty enough to serve as the last snow, so Randy, I'm ready for today...spring has sprung.

Made a trip back to Virginia Beach yesterday early...my sister had to take my mom to the emergency room with chest pains...she has a pacemaker but has had no other heart problems...all tests checked out okay and she is back home...my wife came down later to stay with her. Very relieved.

David, sorry to hear about the tractor problem.

Need to fill one more pallet with firewood today before the rain returns tonight. If time, will put the bush hog on and start cutting the fields.

Hope all is better with your mom. I'll bet she's glad to have family to assist her.

Good morning. The grass is silver with billions of dew drops this morning. By the time I got back they had done of great job of cleaning the mud from my wellies. If I remember before I go out again, it would be a good time to treat them to a quick spray and wipe over with silicone, to help the rubber last a little longer without cracking.

Seemed to spend half of yesterday doing nothing but moving sheep between fields. Sometimes it is easy, I walk in front with a bucket of feed, the ewes come running and the lambs follow, with my wife giving encouragement to any that are tempted to linger behind. A few lambs were not so obedient, nothing unusual in that except for one in particular that ran in the opposite direction, escaping down a track, then through the mesh on an energised electric fence and into a field with other sheep. It took me quite a while to catch it and reunite it with it's mum. Mum walked up to greet her lamb and let it suckle. What I hadn't seen before was that one side of the ewe's face was covered in blood - a crow or magpie has taken her eye.

Rick, your ranger looks perfect for collecting fallen branches, bet it's lots of fun to drive too. At first I was thinking why not take a chainsaw and get twice as much in, but then realised that would only be 5 trips, so only half the fun ;)

Time to get that nice shotgun warmed up. We have some new type vultures that are taking over from the original turkey vultures. They supposedly peck out eyes on newborn calves. Also the Cara Cara birds supposedly.

Farmer, that guy is pretty handy with his feet. Puts my complaints in perspective. Humbling.
