Good evening all. 68F for the start, rain, calm wind, and .5 in the rain gauge from overnight. Thunderstorm moved through, rain backed off after that. One more wave to come through just ahead of the front, and we will go from +15F over normal to -10F under normal. Men's meeting this morning, then finish the running board on the van, However got the wrong silicone (sealer not caulk) it takes days not minute to cure :ashamed:. Tried to fit truck and van in garage, will need more rearranging to pull that off.
2nd shift was the worst, did that for 4 months running ram type EDM machine. Ran a plastic injection machine on third shift for 9 months was easier, everyone was gone from the house and could sleep.
Drew, used to have thermoset plastic molding at work, molds were heated continually to 350-400F. Operators had to wear wool sleeves and gloves to protect from heat. No a/c in summer, operator got 4 breaks in 8 hour shift plus lunch of the machine. Much easier on third shift then first, second was worst.
Wife had a rotating shift, would work all shifts at the facility in one week, and it was open 24/7.
Rich sounds like a good trip to customer, safe travel home.
PJ hope your visit to Maryville goes well also.

Thanks Unfortunately a few disgruntled people have imagined grievances and try to disrupt some official gubberment ceremonies. That makes the news reports. The rest of the country.....I organised my usual cycle ride, 40 or so turned up, a lot (me included) on electric bikes. Temp was 30C (86F) 89% humidity. People everywhere wind surfing, kite surfing, at the beach, picnicking, BBQing, an enjoyable family day for all.

I get to stay home and baby sit the dog and 6 cats and wait for the courier to deliver my chains.

My first real job after 1st year of college when i decided to take an extended break was in a sweatshop factory making various auto trim parts that involved stream heated moulds. 1st shift was unbearable in summer and when i had the chance switched to second, which also paid a shift premium and none of the big bosses were around. Even better, I really liked this pretty girl that worked 3rd third and i managed to work quite a few doubles until I got drafted and enlisted in Dec.

Just came in from spreading the ice-melt and it definitely is icy. I'm glad I bought those ice cleats! Made a dangerous job (for me, with my bum legs) much safer!
Well, time to shower up and get ready for a slow crawl to work.
Just read today's weather...looks like we have a repeat of the ice late this afternoon into tomorrow morning
